I went there to enjoy some whiskeys. Hailey was so friendly, and helpful with drink. I went there to try out new whiskeys there. They have mostly entry level whiskeys (bourbon, scotch), but i saw johnny walker blue label was sitting there as well!! It was enjoyable moment and good atmosphere there. Would love to visit again.

I was summoned to the Walnut Room Saloon to watch the Lakers game with my friends. Great spot if you're looking for a no frills bar with plenty of TVs for game time. They were playing the Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, and whatever else the customers requested. Decent amount of screens. The bar was completely full and we were able to get a few of those seats for TV enjoyment but they also have many tables that are good for groups. The highlight is the affordable drinks. Our group had some beers, well drinks and definitely a few shots and I was surprised how low the bill was. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely come back the next time I want to catch a game with some affordable drinks. Cheers!

We love Walnut Room & Mckenna is the best! Last night it was super busy and a group of 8 of us came in around 11pm. Regardless of how crazy busy it got in there she still managed to get us drinks, shots, & waters whenever we wanted them. I hope she knows her hard work is seen and appreciated by so many! We love that they have touch tunes, darts, and pool. Would 10/10 recommend!

Great chill vibe with darts, golf arcade, and darts. Super relaxed, good music, great drinks, and Natalie the bartender was so sweet and helpful. They have FREE tacos on tuesday and biscuits and gravy on sundays, what an awesome place! Found it with my buddy through some random googling and so glad we found this place. Highly recommend for that dive bar experience with a clean atmosphere and local vibe. Super cool!

There are a lot of few guys in here tonight. And they rep every team and every hood. McKenna is on point. And the jukebox is hot.

I came to this bar with the father of my children on a Friday at 5:00 pm. It's 6:41 pm and it is pretty relaxing, clean, and has great service. The owner (Darlene) is incredibly friendly, kind and has a great sense of humor. The women's restroom is very clean and located inside the bar. We ordered a Cadillac margarita, Mexican Lollipop, Hazy IPA, and Washington Apple. It's such a cute place. They also have a pool table and two electronic dartboards. Room for improvement: They don't sell food but they do sell snacks. They didn't tell me anything when I brought my own food from outside though. I really appreciated that as I brought in a lot of food and snacks. I am excited to come back to such a clean and friendly place.

Great service & drinks with a smile!

Fun times at a fun place. Went last Friday with a couple friends. Service was great & drinks were delivered with a smile. Super chill vibe. Will definitely be back next time I'm in SoCal!

Well, I can't help but recommend this place, but that would mean I can't have it all to myself...a cozy, cool place with chill customers and amazing service with conversation from Natalie, the bartender and jukebox DJ. Food specials like free tacos on Tuesday and free breakfast on Sunday...I know that sharing is caring, but if you were here, you'd want this place all to yourself too. Well, bring a friend at least. And make some new ones too. Pretty confident you can have an amazing few hours for under $20. So...get a ride over and enjoy.

In fact mine had the time of their life. Just don't be those parents and bring them after 7. It is a tiki bar after all and unless they follow the rules of Arrested Development then let them chill at home with grandma and grandpa or maybe their weird Uncle Joe. Drink- Delightful. Very fun themed glassware. Presentations were beautiful and well thought out. Our server did a great job at recommending drinks that built on top of the previous one. Food- the weakest part of the experience. While certainly not bad however when compared to the rest of the experience it just was a bit lacking. The Loco Moco looked very nice. The patty was quite dry though. Yes there's gravy but that's not an excuse for a dry patty. Mac salad was very nice. Stowaway fries were fun and tasty. It is smothered in gravy so be prepared to lose the crispy fries about halfway into the dish. All in all I (and my wife and kids(before7) and weird Uncle Joe) will be back.

When I said "Bar" and "Santa Ana" in the Yelp search - of course it said "Club 616" in the first…read morespot - OF COURSE IT SAID 616!!! I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of the center of OC when they first opened - and I am proud to be a regular here. I don't know how to go somewhere else - because I feel like the staff are giant gems in this jewel of a spot. Winters is a curator of boozy information that has helped me learn about "gin" and "root beer whiskey" so I can sound like an adult-ish purveyor, when really I know close to nothing except being a willing student to his creations. Dan the Man and Jacob always see me raise my hand in the corner of the bar, like the student I am, and have been willing to fill in the blanks for me when I know I am of thirst, but do not have the words for what to order. Every person working in the well has treated me with kindness - they have taken the time to get to know me, and I will be forever appreciative of how they have taken care of me over the years. But the real joy has been the transformation that this spot has for building a community of people in Santa Ana for real recognizing real. I have been bringing my Dad with me to play pool for the past few years. Sometimes people ask me if he plays professionally, I am terrible, and my skill incline is slow, he is patient and plays with the same level craftiness that the staff offer the cocktails. My Dad is always stoked when we have time to go have a few hours of games at 616 - especially now that there are regulars on 4th street that are excited to see that he is there playing - and they rush to write their names on the chalkboard to challenge him - or beat him in a game they really earned the W. On lazy Sundays, I watch couples sit with their drink, listening to Jazz, and watching my Dad whoop my ass while making amazing shots. I am forever grateful to Memo who sometimes takes a break from his shift behind the bar to give my dad an actual challenge - which allows me the chance to watch my Dad enjoy fellowship around the table. Knowing the table was a relic of the bars former self, and knowing the history that this spot has in Santa Ana is a reminder that so much around us can change - but it is those moments of the crack of the rack, the cheer of getting the combo shot, and the shake of hands when it's over that shows that it's not just about the pool table - but about the energy of a place that is welcoming and curated by people who care about what they do - and care about who comes through their doors. Thank you Jason and Mike B to bringing this to 4th St and supporting the community that was already here - and for building a community for the future. Thank you to Christina and Brandon for always having amazing pictures, decor, and fun events at 616 that help introduce new folks into this great spot. Time is short. Learn about Root Beer Whiskey. We came when happy hour was going on (2-5 pm M-F), and it seemed they had a good selection for that alone. Otherwise, their regular menu was pretty extensive and they had so many unique options. We had dinner to go to so unfortunately we couldn't order too much. I would have loved to order more food! We ended up ordering the following: - Chili crunch burrata: This is chef's kiss. I love burrata in general and it was so unique to have chili crisp mixed with the burrata. The pickled shallot provided a nice balance. I loved the Chinese donut to eat with the burrata. It was hot and fresh, and contrasted very nicely with the burrata. I really wished they gave a bit more Chinese donut so that the ratio of cheese to dip was better. We really had to eat a LOT of cheese to go with the Chinese donut we had left. The hostess said this was also one of her favorite dishes. - Chicken cartilage with Mala BBQ spice: This was surprisingly meatier than I thought (thought there would be more cartilage). It was deep fried and the mala dip was spicy, as promised! - Stir fried ong choy with garlic (not part of happy hour): This was solid, and they gave a generous amount of ong choy. Service was very friendly at the front and when they served our food. The restaurant is beautiful, and feels upscale. It is nice enough for entertaining guests and for dates. I would totally come back to try their other dishes.

We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!
