I went here to watch the Mexico - Ecuador game and it did not disappoint. The owner of the bar even changed the Chanel for us so we can all see the game, turned the music off and everyone was focused on the game. The place is very clean, the bathroom was very well maintained which is always a plus. The prices were fair. The only thing I was missing was the food, they had some crackers, which I tried and they are actually really good. But they were very nice and they said I can bring in some outside food. The servers are extremely friendly lol. Good vibes, people were good vibes. Definitely gonna revisit again with some other friends in the near future, might just found a new spot lol. read more

I came here specifically to watch the Super Bowl and was looking forward to seeing the whole broadcast, including the halftime show. Halfway through, they decided to switch the main TV and all the audio over to a Kid Rock special instead. It felt unnecessarily political and completely ruined the experience for me and many others who ended up leaving because of it. I don't care what the owner's personal views are, but a sports bar should be for watching the game, not for pushing an agenda or cutting off a major event. Note on the staff: I want to make sure the staff isn't blamed for this. I've been coming here off and on for 5 years, and the bartenders have always been excellent. This review is solely about the decision to change the broadcast mid-game, which I didn't enjoy. Me and some coworkers came here after our usual spot was too packed. We sat down at a table away from the bar and got checked on after some time. After our first rounds we had to go up to the bar to get drinks every time. When I approached the bar, the bartenders were always busy chatting up with people, so it took some time every time to get drinks. A nice local bar. It was totally chill with a good selection of drinks. The customers seemed to be all local. I did like that it was also a Steelers bar. Go Steelers! It did have another interesting feature. I was summoned to the Walnut Room Saloon to watch the Lakers game with my friends. Great spot if you're looking for a no frills bar with plenty of TVs for game time. They were playing the Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, and whatever else the customers requested. Decent amount of screens. The bar was completely full and we were able to get a few of those seats for TV enjoyment but they also have many tables that are good for groups. The highlight is the affordable drinks. Our group had some beers, well drinks and definitely a few shots and I was surprised how low the bill was. Service was quick and friendly. While I'd heard of the Walnut Room, I didn't realize it was located in this modest, dated shopping center (catty-corner from the Original Taco Factory, which we've visited for years!), accessed through a commercial glass door with no other windows. Considering its uninviting exterior, the interior was surprisingly more spacious -- and brighter -- than expected. Yes, it's very casual, no frills, but lively and comfortable (our thoughts are that the interior lights could be a little dimmer). We were so fortunate to be served by McKenna, who cheerfully greeted us, making us feel at ease from the start -- as if we were regulars! LOVED her positive energy and personality!! I came to this bar with the father of my children on a Friday at 5:00 pm. It's 6:41 pm and it is pretty relaxing, clean, and has great service. The owner (Darlene) is incredibly friendly, kind and has a great sense of humor. The women's restroom is very clean and located inside the bar. We ordered a Cadillac margarita, Mexican Lollipop, Hazy IPA, and Washington Apple. It's such a cute place. They also have a pool table and two electronic dartboards. Room for improvement: They don't sell food but they do sell snacks. They didn't tell me anything when I brought my own food from outside though. If I can do big fat zero I would...who ever the bartender on Saturday nights I would be aware of your check not only does she over charge but she adds things that you never drank. She thinks she can get away with it because she believes you're intoxicated but that's not the case. Always ask for an itemized receipt. We frequent this place a lot and I know complaining to the owners or even writing this review won't do much but it might warn future customers to avoid going here at least Saturday nights. There are other bars in the area you can visit. Sad that we will stop going here Saturday nights because of this girl. Please get rid of her. UPDATE*** Came in again hoping it wasn't this bartender but unfortunately it was but decided to try and give it another chance but she was very butt hurt about the truth lol she won't serve you if you write a "mean" Yelp review :( She asked me why I was in HER bar and also told the other bartender/ bar back to not serve us. This place is Tustins best kept secret! It has the most positive energy & people. Tuesdays are the best. Mel makes the best tacos of all sorts- every Tuesday. The tacos are KILLER. FREE and made from scratch- dont sleep on them they tend to run out quickly. 12-9pm tues is when available. Also, Makenna kills it, your empty drink is immediatly noticied and tended to. The attetntion to detail the employees put forth doing their job as it should is uncanny. I frequent many establishments in the vacinity and can't talk this place up enough. Think of it as a nice clean bar with service you'd expect at an upscale bar/lounge for far less cost. Ask Makenna to make you an old fashioned- ive had them all over OC. I was shocked it was made to perfection at a place such as this categorized as a "dive bar". In a word, "unexpected". You would never guess that in a very unassuming strip mall, facing a very unassuming parking lot, was a busy dive bar. But is it truly a dive bar? The interior is incredibly clean and bright for a dive bar. I'll leave the judgment call to those more experienced with the dive bar world, and just say this - this bar didn't make me wonder if I was up to date on all my shots. Speaking of shots, the busy bartender here can make a number of drinks, from cans or taps, although I don't believe that they have a full alcohol license. There are darts here and plenty of seating at the bar and tables, and a restroom that won't make you sick to look at. Again, one point against this being an actual dive bar. We were on the waiting list for Stowaway and needed to kill some time so we saw that this place was well reviewed and very close by so we drove over and man was it a good choice! Our bartender McKenna was so sweet and because we ended up waiting for a little bit she bought us our first round of drinks which we were very appreciative of.
