Nice place to stop and get coffee. They roast beans in house and sell beans as well. Pastries are also enjoyable. I ordered a honey vanilla latte and guava cheese pastry, both good. Service was average. Expect to wait about 10 minutes with average customer volume as they spend more time of curating each drink. 4/5 largely based on coffee as I feel the customer experience can be improved. One piece of feedback is that the menu should be reorganized. There are espresso drinks on several of the menu panels but then one space specifically that is titled espresso drinks which would imply the others don't have espresso. For example, the house specialties are listed on a completely separate panel as the espresso drinks, would've like to order one of those had I known they were offered. Essentially you have to read the whole menu with the way it's currently organized you can't just search for tea or coffee sections or you'll likely miss something Importantly you can't study or work here. They intentionally don't have wifi or outlets available to foster a different customer experience. Many of the clientele were reading or knitting which was pleasant. While I support this, it's not made know to customers by signs or anything - you would have to look on Yelp beforehand to know. In addition, I've been to other Kean branches that offered wifi so unless this is a new policy or the branches are owned independently it's important to make customers aware they can't expect the internet at this location in particular. I was caught off guard and had to leave immediately as I needed wifi at the time which was unfortunate. Seats about 25 inside, patio also available. Bathroom under lock and key. Extensive roadworks on Main St, so you should enter from Newport Ave or from East 6th St. There are two restrooms. Saturday Morning, the place was packed and most tables were filled. It gave me Starbucks vibes from about 15-20 years ago. Ordered the almond croissant and grasshopper. Grass hopper was a mint and vanilla combo. This ended up being an odd combination where the mint and vanilla were slight but muted. Overall it was interesting, but it wasn't something I would ordered again. The almond croissant was a run of the mill almond croissant, for 5 bucks you can probably find other options. Good coffee roaster and coffee shop. Knowledgeable person ti talk to me about their coffees. The one big problem is that I came in there trying to find a KEAN COFFEE that is served by BAGELS & BREW in Lake Forest (21771 Lake Forest Dr, Ste 100, Lake Forest, CA 92630), but there were these issues: 1. KEAN COFFEE roasts this WHOLESALE ONLY for Bagels & Brew. It is not available for sale to the public. Flavored coffees are not sold to the public at the location. 2. The knowledgeable person did not even know what beans were used in the wholesale coffee. It was not even possible to identify what beans or ground to buy, even if the flavored version was not available. 3. I like SMOOTH and MELLOW light roasted coffees. They are hard to find in the STARBUCKS type era of Burned-to-a-crisp, dark, French Roasts (which I hate). Had to just simply try buying light roast coffees, but I still have not found this yet. Gave up and started buying COFFEE BEAN & TEA LEAF - L.A. Brew LOS FELIZ. It was closer than the Columbia Gesha I bought at Kean. Not a lot of light roasts available for purchase, and they are still very pricey at over $20/pound. None are really smooth and mellow. read more

This is one of our favorite coffee stops in Tustin and Irvine area. A convenient parking lot, clean restrooms, and plenty of seating are available at this location. The staff is very nice. The only thing I didn't love was the interior--it feels quite old-fashioned, with furniture that looks 30 years old. I was browsing new coffee shops, and I was excited to see on the menu there was a manual brew pour over option. I walked in and was embraced with the warm decor and ambiance, and I knew this shop would be a comfortable place to hang out for hours. When I ordered my pour over, I was given the option of 6 different beans to choose from, which you could also order by the pound. I chose the Peru beans since I was intrigued by its mild, soft, and light taste profile. The menu price said MP, and I paid $5.25 total for my cup, which I thought was a very fair price. After waiting for a few minutes, I was able to try the coffee, and it did not disappoint. The coffee and light and went down smoothly. I now knew why it was described as mild and soft. The coffee has a delicate mix of tart with a sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste. These flavors became more pronounced as the coffee cooled, but the coffee still was smooth. I very much enjoyed my cup and would love to try their other beans one day. read more

Stopped by Kean on a bustling Saturday morning and no surprise how busy this place gets. The staff was friendly and attentive and very focused on making sure coffee was made to perfection, I usually get the matcha but I wanted to try the Turkish latte- it was definitely more on the bitter side but still delish either way. They had an array of scones, wish they hadn't run out of the coconut flavor (next time) but we tried the spinach and mushroom quiche and the Raisin Bran muffin which was so incredibly soft and flaky. I loved how spacious it is inside with many seating areas to get cozy on a rainy day like it was this morning. I had never heard of Kean but seeing that I was in the area I wanted to give this place a try. So glad I did and happy to report I will stick with my Matcha next time read more

I grabbed some Colombian coffee and coffee from Nicaragua for my fiancé. He loves coffee so much. Especially Colombian coffee. I wanted some treats and a refreshment. It was hot outside and I was parched. I got an iced tea for the liquids, and a churro croissant. It's called a churrosant technically. But it is two pieces of bread, twisted together, baked and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. The bread itself was very dry and or stale. So, that killed it for me. But the cinnamon and sugar flavor on the outside was nice. I just wish the bread was fresh and not so dry. It was so dry; pieces were flaking off when you tried to get a piece. Had this bookmarked for a while and I was finally in the area to try it a few days ago! I'm a mocha latte person, so I was excited that there was a whole menu dedicated to just chocolate drinks! The iced mocha is RICH! It's a very coffee forward and not that sweet. The flavoring genuinely tastes like chocolate and not like fake chocolate. I prefer my drinks a little bit more on the sweeter side, so once I added some simple syrup myself, it was perfect. Definitely one of the best lattes I've had!! Finally decided to come here after a client of mine recommended it. I was a little upset bc I really should've tried it sooner lol I'm pretty basic when it comes to my coffee order (I usually a vanilla latte) but wanted to try something a little different so I ordered their Caffe Napoli, which has hazelnut and white chocolate in it. It was delicious! I got mine with oat milk and it still had a nice, thick and creamy consistency to it. I like my coffee on the sweet side, but there was a prominent coffee flavor as well so it was balanced for me. There were a decent amount of customers there for a Sunday at 1pm but their service was still quick and friendly. One thing I really appreciate is that they have the option of a 12oz iced coffee bc I usually won't finish 16oz drinks. I will definitely be back for another tasty beverage and maybe I'll be brave enough to try something different next time! read more

I waited to see if the last two drinks would come out, but they never did, and other customers who ordered after me received theirs first.
