I came to Kean Coffee to get some work done since I saw they had a large seating area. However when I arrived most of the tables were taken. I didn't see many outlets. I use my hotspot for internet but another customer was asking me for wifi, in which I recommend they ask the business. The noise level was high with a lot of folks coming here to chat over coffee. I decided on their iced Caffe Borgia ($7) with regular whole milk and a Roasted Veggie Quiche ($8.50) because they were out of the meaty quiche I would have preferred to order. The quiche was okay but pricey for a snack. The iced caffe Borgia comes served in a glass if you dine in. I didn't really like the coffee though. As a coffee lover, it's rare I don't like a coffee spot but I actually tossed most of the drink. Definitely not looking to come back. It doesn't really have the atmosphere I enjoy or products I like to consume.

Excellent coffee. I had two trips here recently and had an Americano both times that I found delightful. Tried a quiches Lorraine the last time and was very pleasantly impressed! Staff members were helpful and working hard to get everyone their orders. Very comfortable environment in which to visit with others or to work. Very comfortable options for seating (including outdoors.) Clean seating area and clean, well- stocked restrooms.

Still my favorite coffee shop...maybe ever. The ambiance is just so inviting and the furniture has character. We got cold brews and a dessert which was this pistachio citrus cheesecake thing and it was delicious. I wish I had asked which bakery it came from.

I've come here many times over the years. It's one of my favorite coffee spots in orange county. I stopped by while doing something.church stuff early in the morning on July 4th. Interior is clean and staff was friendly and professional. Restrooms are always clean. Good choices of teas and coffee and also some food options available all day. Plenty of patio seating shared with several other businesses and also parking is available shared with other businesses. However, it is sometimes difficult to find parking if the other businesses are busy. Highly recommend this spot.

Nice place to stop and get coffee. They roast beans in house and sell beans as well. Pastries are also enjoyable. I ordered a honey vanilla latte and guava cheese pastry, both good. Service was average. Expect to wait about 10 minutes with average customer volume as they spend more time of curating each drink. 4/5 largely based on coffee as I feel the customer experience can be improved. One piece of feedback is that the menu should be reorganized. There are espresso drinks on several of the menu panels but then one space specifically that is titled espresso drinks which would imply the others don't have espresso. For example, the house specialties are listed on a completely separate panel as the espresso drinks, would've like to order one of those had I known they were offered. Essentially you have to read the whole menu with the way it's currently organized you can't just search for tea or coffee sections or you'll likely miss something Importantly you can't study or work here. They intentionally don't have wifi or outlets available to foster a different customer experience. Many of the clientele were reading or knitting which was pleasant. While I support this, it's not made know to customers by signs or anything - you would have to look on Yelp beforehand to know. In addition, I've been to other Kean branches that offered wifi so unless this is a new policy or the branches are owned independently it's important to make customers aware they can't expect the internet at this location in particular. I was caught off guard and had to leave immediately as I needed wifi at the time which was unfortunate. Seats about 25 inside, patio also available. Bathroom under lock and key. Parking is in l shopping center, no issues.

Kean Coffee has been a coffee staple in OC for a couple decades, and in my opinion was one (if not the) of the original craft coffee house that is truly above the rest. They roast their own coffee in house for starters, and have a menu that gives you plenty of options that will satisfy even the pickiest of coffee drinkers. The baristas know their craft, and will be patient and take care of you if you are new to coffee and starting out! Inside the cafe is a dream, you definitely will feel like you are a part of the show as so much happens behind the counter. It isn't too loud for a date or to study, and there is plenty of space for even a solo night out. My go to here will always be the coffee shakes. These are hands down what separates Kean from anything else! I prefer the dark chocolate but honestly I don't know how they perfected this drink. The boba straw is appreciated as the drink is THICK. Give Kean coffee a try, and I promise you this will be on your list of cafes to visit on the regular.

Great favorable strong Turkish coffee that shakes you up. It's good to have a jolt when we stumbled into it early in the morning. Coffee lovers come and go for their morning refresher to last a day or few hours. Interest aroma and strong coffee wakes up my senses and palates. Pastry is good as well.

I ordered an Iced Americano with cardamom. My drink basically tasted like iced Turkish coffee (I enjoyed it). The place was slammed packed this morning although I arrived around 0615. Despite the coffee house being full of customers my drink came out within 10 mins. Not sure if I'd go out of the way to purchase coffee here but they offer decent pretty good coffee from what I tried. .parking was easy .male staff were nice . Lots of open seating

Nothing like a coffee order on Christmas Day! Nice barista was patient while I decided what to get. I love the cozy wooden accents everywhere as well as the coffee grinder in store. No charge ports so come charged! There's also a little living room couch to wait while they brew :)

Kean coffee is so cute!!!! Met here with some cohort mates to get work done, and everyone was so incredibly friendly. I'm really impressed with the staff. The Turkish latte was also really good! One con: I didn't see any outlets, but I also didn't check the whole store.

Amazing as always! White chocolate mocha with oat milk and a white chocolate mocha with raspberry infused- tastes like a delicious warm treat! Service was quick, helpful and ambiance as quiet and calm. I never regret a stop for coffee here.

Ask the Community - Kean Coffee Artisan Roasters

Since there are quite a few espresso selections sold as beans, I was wondering if you can choose which roast gets used for your drink? Or is there just one that gets used for the drinks, and the rest are sold beans-only?

For our espresso drinks, we exclusively use our Golden Mean Espresso Blend, but for our brewed coffees we rotate among most of the single origin coffees we have currently roasting, as we really specialize in single origins. If you want to choose a…

Are you open for indoor seating?

Not yet. We still offer outdoor seating only.

    Do you sell gift cards?

Yes! Both in our coffeehouses and on our website at keancoffee.com :)

Can you add an extra shot of expresso to the grasshopper?

I pretty sure u can because the barista are great at spicing your coffee up!

Are there ample outlets for charging laptops an such?

There is no WiFi service, so there are no extra outlets for laptop users. This coffee shop encourages non electronic communications amongst its patrons.

Are any of the gluten free baked goods also dairy free as well?

Our gluten free Chocolate Banana Bread is also vegan, so no dairy :)

Do they have nitro cold brew?

    Yes- on tap :)

Would the caffe mocha or Mayan mocha be vegan if ordered with non dairy milk, or is there something in the mix/syrup that prevents it from being vegan?

Our house made mocha sauce does not contain any dairy, so our Caffe Mocha with non dairy milk would be vegan, yes. The chocolate that we use for our Mayan Mocha may, however, contain dairy, so our Mayan Mocha may not be vegan. We will double check…

    Any gluten free pastries?

Yes! While we do not certify our gluten free baked goods due to the fact that we cannot guarantee that none has ever touched a pastry with gluten (so for those with severe gluten allergies, might be good to be aware of that) we do have several…

    Do they have baby chairs?

Hi Flora - no we're sorry but we no longer provide baby chairs. It's really better if our guests bring their own, that way they know they have a baby chair that works well for their own child. You are welcome to bring yours in!

Once we arrived, we realized how intimate and limited the seating was (so makes sense you need to book in advance). This is a great space for date night or a small group. I wouldn't try to come to this location with a large party. I loved the small and intimate dining experience! We got about half the menu and I'd absolutely get everything again. Some of our favorites were the bread + ham butter (a must), the burrata (another must), the mushrooms (I could eat these all day), and the octopus (insane). You can tell every dish has a recipe that has been specially curated for this restaurant, with so many unique flavors and combinations, that you just have to come check it out for yourself. I believe our server's name was Sam, and he was so wonderful! He even brought out their delicious basque cheesecake for the birthday we were celebrating! Just overall a very thoughtful, intimate, delicious restaurant that has easily become a top option for us! Highly recommend!

We tried: Galician octopus - amazing and must try! Steak tartare- also delicious and must try! Gambas al ajillo - shrimp were large and tasty Pollo en bravas - small leg and thigh with a lot of flavor Tinned razor clam- it came in a cane so it tasted different. I misread and thought it was fresh seafood. Basque cheesecake - my favorite! Must try! Parking can be challenging as there is a small parking lot in the back with about 7 spaces or so. Probably best to get there early. Customer service was excellent!

Santa Ana Brunch Club,…read more Took the wife here on our off Friday. We arrived near noon time and the restaurant still was full, we had to wait hmm 10 or 15 minutes, which is not bad at all, shoot beats 45+ minutes I can easily see them pull on the early morning and weekends. There is a parking lot just past the restaurant, its a little sketchy and can be tight depending what cars are already there. There is a decent amount of seating, but the first thing I noticed when we first walked in was the two Yama glass cold brew towers, I already knew they were going to have banging Kyoto style coffee, that was already a win for me lol. The staff here were super nice and also very great at recommending a dish by what's popular but also asking what mood you were in. So the wife and I went with the two popular dishes. City Plate - Wife went with this dish French scrambled eggs, on the menu it does say Pork Belly, but unfortunately they ran out so she went with bacon. Hokkaido milk bread French toast, seasonal jam and berries. First off most places that know how to cook bacon, just nice and crispy, you know whomever is cooking, is cooking. Perfectly crisp bacon and good quality and taste, made me forget about the pork belly! The Hokkaido milk bread French toast, topped with like a blueberry jam, was beyond delicious. Honestly one of the best french toast both my wife and myself ever had. I do agree the portions are a little small, but if this was the dish I ordered, sorry wife, all mine!! jk love u! Bubbies Fried Chicken & Sourdough Pancake's: This is the dish I went with, Fried chicken thighs, mini sourdough pancakes, 2 over medium eggs finished with a hot honey butter drizzle. The sourdough pancakes, were good but nothing to crazy about them, if there is an option to sub the pancakes for the French toast, I would have easily done that! Egg was cooked perfectly to how I ordered them, but the best part of this dish. That fried chicken thighs, easily the best fried chicken I have had as of then and today so far. The crunchy skin was the right amount, the chicken was moist just from the look of it, but once bitten into, oh man it was explosions of flavors. Oh man put this on top of like a jalapeno waffle get the perfect bite with chicken, egg, the waffle and some syrup....gasm! As mentioned above the serving portion isnt too big, least for a guy size, guess it worked out since I finished whatever my wife could on her plate. Coffee: It make sense why their portions are too big, gotta make sure you save room for that coffee. Sadly the day we went, they ran out of Horchata, so the wife and I both got the vanilla rum kyoto iced latte. As expected it was delicious, the vanilla and rum complemented each other perfectly, not too sweet and not too smoky/bitter, I knew the cold brew would be clean and smooth, a perfect way to end brunch with this amazing cup of cold brew. I may have finished my cup before even leaving the parking lot. In conclusion, Santa Ana Brunch Club its going to be hard to come back here and try other things when I can just have a plate of favorites with that french toast, bacon and fried chicken and was it all down with Kyoto coffee. I can see why people are willing to wait long times for the food here. Again the food is amazing along with the workers! Feast Well Fellow Yelpers! Kaizokuō Ni Ore Wa Naru!
