The gentleman they assigned to me spent a lot of time fumbling around while trying to finish my x-rays. Then he said he used to be a dentist abroad (that actually gives me a lot of confidence so I was excited hear that) and he is either getting licensed or something here in the states. Eventually, he goes to get help from one of their more experience hygienists. She comes in and tells me that he actually wasn't supposed to be doing x-rays on me. I don't know the details nor doesn't matter. But it ended up taking a lot of extra time for her to discover this so that way I could get my x-rays finished and have the cleaning done. I think they were already behind schedule well over 30 minutes on my cleaning which might be what had triggered her to check in and see what was going on. I've always loved going to the dentist but between the x-rays and a number of other issues I felt uneasy when I left. Later on, I had a conversation with somebody from their office and I was very turned off and didn't want to proceed. So I wanted to cancel the appointments. I distinctly remember saying let's not do this appointment. Please cancel it. A while later, I get a recon confirmation email so I wrote back with simply one word, "cancel." Then I get another response asking when I'd like to reschedule. Remember: I've talked to them on the phone months in advance of this appointment and they did still did not remove me from the schedule as I had explicitly requested. So my response wasn't as friendly as I tend to be. But my patience was gone, and when I started typing, my mother came out lol. Additionally, today on January 13, 2025 I received a phone call and then a text message from them because they wanted to schedule. Now this is after I received the final email from Vohla where she expressed her anger at me responding to them reiterating that I want to cancel. You'd think they would add me to a do not call list but nope: they didn't do that either. I guess not respecting their patient's explicit requests is their brand. All I want is for them to leave me alone. I've chosen another provider and it's been great with them. However this office will not leave me along. Well, a year later along with vaccines, my last appointment was still only about 15 minutes. My teeth felt dirty just a month later. Due to a change in insurance, we were able to make appointments at another dental provider who was shocked at the state of our teeth. My husband has to go in for deep cleanings, which aren't covered by insurance. Chicago Avenue Smiles cost us hundreds of dollars, not to mention the panic of realizing our dental health has been neglected for years. I hope they change things, but I wouldn't trust them for further visits.

However it took two months. My husband was taken right away because he established care during height of Covid. Parking here is metered parking but if willing to drive a few blocks can secure free parking. Close to Blue L (Damen Stop). Cost seemed higher than I was used to but could be comparable to Chicago dental practices. My deep cleaning was $800 (insurance covered half). I would say overall happy with this practice.
