I love the unique taco filling combinations served at Avo Taco, especially Piggy Smalls, the shrimp tacos and I believe the other one is Pig Pimpin? I could be wrong. There's a huge parking lot at this location, so worry not about finding a space! My kids enjoy their lemonade and myself their pina colada. Removing one star because they have missed the mark a few times with the quesadillas from the kids menu. They made it too spicy and inedible for my kids. Otherwise, I'd stop by again and again for their tacos.

Visited on a Monday afternoon. Not busy, kiosks up front make ordering and paying super easy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Grab a tent number and a table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coco loco taco was my favorite. I do wish there were daily specials for multiple tacos.

First time trying Avo Taco and I loved it!! The food is fresh and so tasty. Loved the Sunshine Shrimp quesadilla and the Churrolitos. I also enjoyed the pico on top of the guacamole. So delicious. Food was packed neatly and portions are generous. I can not wait to try other items from the menu!

I don't know why it took me five years to try this place, but I'm glad I finally did! We've been here twice in the past couple of weeks and took advantage of their Tuesday deal--3 tacos for $13. I tried the "Big Shrimpin'." The flavor was great, but it only came with two small shrimp. It would be better with either two larger shrimp or three in total. The Juanita and Bandito (beef tacos) were also very good. I liked them a lot, though occasionally I could taste some chewy fat. I plan to try the chicken tacos next time. I'm not a huge fan of their taco wraps--they're pretty thick. Personally, I prefer something lighter and fluffier. Their margarita is solid--strong enough that one gets me tipsy! I keep eyeing the tequila flight, but at $48, I haven't taken the plunge. It might be worth it, but it feels a bit steep. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is very sweet and friendly, and I really like the atmosphere and the decor--it's got a fun vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can walk up to the counter to order or scan the QR code at your table. They also have a full bar making fresh margaritas and more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bonus points for the outdoor seating![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is super chill. I love the decor, cleanliness and vibe of this place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both locations I have been to have a similar atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The margaritas are good and the variety of different options are great!! Food is fresh and well seasoned. The portions are a nice size and the prices are extremely fair. This is what I call cheap and cheerful Staff is always friendly. There is counter service, bar service and then food is delivered to the tables. The wait/service staff is attentive and keep the place neat.

Back again for a great experience, this time it's for the happy hour all day Sunday. The staff were warm and attentive , service with a smile. I ordered the Chimichurri steak taco and the $10.00 Wings. My drink was the happy hour Rum Punch $6 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dining area is clean with festive decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will be back again.

First time eating here. See every time I take my son to soccer practice and since wifey loves tacos, figured why not stop by and try it. First, placing your order is interesting. You can either order it with a cashier, kiosk, or via their website and a QR code. Ordered via the code and it was seamless. The QR code has your table number so when your order is ready they bring the food to the table. Second, the food was very tasty. Wifey ordered the carny and the big shrimpin. I got the flight of guac and the piggy smalls. Everything was great!! I really loved the different toppings on the guacamole especially the one with pineapple, bacon, and cojita cheese. Overall a very positive experience. We will definitely be back as I have to try the other food options there.

Took 25 minutes for this order to come out on a Sunday enough said! The food came out sloppy and just frustrating. 2;25pm on a Saturday and you are this backed up. No rocket science to this order was told this is a big otter so it would be slow.

Tasty fusion tacos. A wide variety of proteins to choose from. Come on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday! You get three tacos for $13. I usually like to get the Tuna Montezuma which has seared tuna, mango salsa, red onion, avocado, sesame seeds and a ginger soy vinaigrette. My least favorite is the Coco Loco, which is coconut breaded shrimp. The shrimp came to the table a bit brown in color, because it was overcooked. A large parking lot out in front of store. Dining outside: a few blue picnic tables line the front of the restaurant. Seating: lots of tables to choose from regular to high top bar stools seating. Service is fine. Order online or at the counter. Your food will be brought over to your table. Want a free mini soft serve cone. Ask for one after you finish your meal. A nice little treat.

Came here on a Tuesday for Happy Hour. Their food is delicious and the drinks are great too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have lots of searing, including a bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The spicy margarita and blueberry margarita were so good. The nachos with birria were fresh and filling. All three tacos (3 for $13 on Tuesdays) were great: I tried the coco loco, buffalo soldier and the chimichurri steak. The bartender, Nicole was so friendly and personable and made some heat suggestions! I strongly suggest giving them a try.

Great place for tacos and margaritas! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a casual spot with surprisingly good food and a nice atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I'd love to come back again for their happy hour. Also the wings are a must!

What a cute place. There is a part that's a bar and you can have a drink in the middle of the day There's a chipotle vibe to it but a bit more nicer. The service is GREAT Really enjoyed this place

Ughhhh...came out of the supermarket and was super annoyed (!!) when I saw a flyer under my window wipers!...Until I saw what it was! Hahaha A postcard from Avo Taco (which was across the street), for free Guac & Chips w.any of their Signature toppings! Thanks! :P I have to thank Yelp Queens CM Samantha C because I had attended a Yelp Elite Event that she organized a few weeks ago, at the Avo Taco in Bayside. I had driven past this Avo Taco in Garden City Park many times, thinking I would never go since I usually only like "authentic" Mexican tacos. (Yup, I am an admitted authentic ethnic food snob! lol). Welllll, after going to the Yelp Event, and getting to try several items, it changed my mind about Avo Taco. No, I wouldn't call these authentic Mexican tacos but they are fantastic & delicious, nonetheless! They have a huge menu with lots of great options. (See my photos for their menus). This is what I tried today (takeout order): -- Guac & Chips with their Signature topping of Pulled BBQ Pork & Crispy Onions. (This was my free item per the coupon but it's normally $10): There was a generous portion of chips! I appreciated that it came in a wax lined paper bag, which kept the chips fresh & crispy. The Guac was good but the cold Pulled BBQ Pork & Crispy Onions surprised me; but that was my fault that I didn't realize it would be served cold on top of the Guac. Next time, I'd go with one of their Signature Salsa toppings instead. But if I wanted the Pulled Pork, I would order them with their Nachos, which would be served hot. -- Truffle Steak Quesadilla ($16.50): this came with a side of sour cream, and was delicious! Loved the truffle flavors, cheese, onions and mushrooms, along with the seasoned tender steak. This quesadilla also reheated really well; dare I say, it may have tasted even better the next day! Recommended! Don't forget to grab your hot sauce, which is located at their drink station. They offer both "mild" and "hot" sauces; no "medium" sauce but you can always mix both sauces yourself. Service & hospitality were great! I was greeted at the door and led to the counter when I told them I wanted to do Takeout. I placed my order with the discount card with no problems, and was given a # to wait for my order. When my order was ready, it was brought right to me. Friendly and efficient service! This restaurant was super clean and so inviting! Love the music and chill vibe! They even have a bar with high top tables. Take advantage of their Specials: -- Happy Hour (3-6pm daily): Half off select drinks, starters & sides. -- Margarita Mondays: $6 select margaritas -- Taco Tuesday: All Day; 3 tacos for $14 -- Take it Home Thursdays (dine-in only!): Enjoy a specialty cocktail and take home their limited art series glass! -- They even have Live Music, every other Thursday! Last but not least, I appreciate how transparent they are with how their "suggested tip" is calculated! Lots of restaurants very sneakily include tax when calculating their tip...we should NOT be tipping on the Taxes we pay! Avo Taco does it correctly (tip based on pre-discount and pre-tax total)! Kudos! Looking forward to Taco Tuesday!! :P PS: Check-in on Yelp and receive $1 off your next visit!

Ask the Community - Avo Taco

    Do they do reservations?

No reservations, it's a casual dining spot. You order either at the table QR code or at the register and they give you a number. Then bring the food to your table.

Are they delivering to Queens via Uber Eats?

I tried Grub hub and was told it's too far.

Do they offer Taco Tuesday deals?

    Yes! 3 tacos for $10

Do they accept cash or only credit & debit cards?

I'm pretty sure they take cash and card!

Do they have side items? Like rice and beans?

They have sides, such as chips with guacamole and chips with queso. They also have a delicious street corn.

    Do they offer delivery?

They will be starting uber eats shortly

    Is there happy hour?

    Yes. There is!

Are the tacos expensive there's no menu prices online?

I believe the prices vary upon the type of taco but I want to say the average price is $4 per taco. They filled I usually get 2 and I'm more than satisfied

Everything I tried was very impressive Funghi Quesadilla hit all the marks. Our waiter, God forgive me because I cannot remember his name, was a delightful, kind man who spoke very highly of his place of work when I complimented the food. I came here with a friend: he ordered 3 different tacos and absolutely cleared all of them, while I ordered the carne asada con camarones which came with pico de gallo, rice, and beans. I added a whole grilled/roasted jalapeño and I'm incredibly happy that I did. While pico de gallo might go unnoticed or sound run-of-the-mill, this batch was far from it - the vegetables were bright, fragrant, and fresh, wonderfully complimenting the rest of the food. Two heaping portions of whole well-seasoned, well-cooked carne asada topped with 3 delicious shrimps was the main attraction, with yellow rice placed on the same plate, hot and ready to be eaten. Refried beans were served in a separate ramekin and were also very flavorful. Additionally served with the entree is a cheese tortilla. While this volume of food may seem overwhelming to some, the dish was undoubtedly cohesive and I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed every bite of it. At $21.80 + $1 for the jalapeño, this was an absolute deal. Can't wait to visit again!

We went on an Thursday and about a third of the tables were taken. The staff are very friendly but a bit scattered. It's not enough to be completely bothered by it, just to make note. They seemed to be unfocused. We even ordered Jarritos and had to remind them during our meal. Appetizers: We ordered guacamole since they make it to order and it was soooo good. Probably the best part of the meal. The chips and salsa that they give for the table were pretty good too. LOVE the smokiness of the salsa. My date ordered three separate tacos: fish, al pastor and I think chorizo. He said they were okay, nothing that really stood out to him but he did finish it. They're filling though so three was a good amount for him and he can eat up to 5 sometimes if the tacos are really good. I ordered Mole. Mole is a very difficult dish to get down. I've had really really good mole that's been stewed for hours, close to half a day. I even have the thick paste concentrate that friends have given me from Mexico as gifts cause I love Mole so much. Usually, the sauce is close to a gravy consistency, it's smokey from the chiles, not a strong heat, a hint of sweet from the chocolate, savory etc. The chicken should also be to a point where it's fork tender, you do not need much to take the meat off the bone. Tepache's mole was alright. The sauce was a little thinned out, leaned salty and made it hard for the other flavors to come through. The dish was also supposed to come with tortillas and I didn't realize till I put it in a to-go box that I wasn't given them. Twenty-five dollars for mole is a steal because it is a difficult and time consuming thing to make, but only if it's REALLY GOOD. And this one was just okay. Overall though I still want to come back and try out other menu items. I wouldn't suggest the Mole, but I am curious about other things.

The chicken burrito was packed with fresh ingredients (although I would have liked more chicken); the $2.00 surcharge for adding hefty avocado slices was well worth it. Soft tacos wrapped in corn tortillas made with large seared shrimp were delicious. I liked that they didn't use too much cojita cheese in the tacos, but plenty of healthy avo.
