House Chicken Salad
Rachele. K.

Food is always amazing! Love their steak and chicken kabobs! Went in because I was waiting for my glasses to be ready and grabbed some chicken salad which is so good and sat at their table on a beautiful day! A little expensive but worth it!

Cookies!

Amazing lobster role and croque monsieur! Lobster was tender and buttery. Croque monsieur was delicious. Great way to celebrate Mothers Day!

9 Perfectly trimmed Tri-Tip roasts, ordered from SoCal before flying to Farmington Valley - Avon Prime Meats and Mana Bakery KILLED! THANKS

I was planning to BBQ for my parent's summer party at the end of June up in Simsbury. I live in CA, so naturally I wanted to do Santa Maria Tri-Tip roasts, thinly sliced, medium rare, in toasty Bolillo rolls, with my Salsa Fresca, Zab's hot sauce (Goleta CA), and my twist on an Apple Horseradish sauce (recipe improved and borrowed-from liberally from the BBQ aces at Cold Spring Tavern, in Santa Barbara!). Avon Prime!! Great service and vibe in the shop as well. Also, additional shout out to Zab's hot sauces in Goleta, CA, shipped a couple St. Augustine sauces out to CT only to find they sold them on the butcher counter at Fitzgerald's Grocery in downtown Simsbury! NICE! I dry brined with Jake's Famous Pure Santa Maria Dry Rub, and Meat Church's (hi Matt!!) Garlic and Herbs blend, dry rubbed over night. Wish I had more pictures. I was a one-man show on the grill, so had no time. AVON PRIME MEATS (Thanks Jeremy and the crew!), killed it sourcing my Tri-Tips (we did 9 of them - 15 lbs), and with the Bolillo rolls I ordered from Mana Bakery in Meriden, the food was a massive hit at the party! Love you guys forever!

Love stopping here when in the area as there meat selection is always phenomenal. For new years this year decided to get a beef Wellington which exceeded expectations! They also have a great selection of cheeses in there and the back have a good selection of different meets including venison, bison and others. They are always friendly and willing to help with any questions about any of the items they have. there soft pretzels which i believe come from Hartford are also amazing! If you are in the area and looking for a great selection of chicken, pork, and beef this is a must stop.

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE TO GET MEAT! Everything from their butcher cuts, marinaded meats, to produce I AM IN LOVE! Everything is perfect! I have had their breakfast sausages which are PERFECT to their prime cuts and I am overly thrilled with it all. We order our holiday meats from here, staff is extremely helpful and attentive and answer ever question you may have! 10/10 recommend coming out and trying it! I go once a week and it's worth the drive! Kids love the "moo-moo cow" out front and even he's COVID friendly wearing a mask! LOVE IT!

Always a great place for a sandwich! Great Boars Head deli meat and fresh bread! Love to stop in for their specialty items as well. Great local desserts, many different cuts of meat to choose from as well as cheeses. This is my go to for prime rib or tenderloin for special occasions as well.

Bone marrow and duck wings. It's like a shopping market in the Flintstones!

There were plenty of free on-street parking when we went. Since moving to the town of Canton, I have been meaning to make a trip. This past Sunday on Labor Day weekend, I finally made it. There was live music. The market was full of people shopping and vendors. There were produce, British baked goods, mushroom coffee and jerky, maple syrup, books, art, soap, shirts, jewelry, etc. There were plenty of vendors selling all their goodies. We visited each stand and enjoyed shopping and window shopping. We purchased cookies from Calos cookies, scones from the British stand, and maple lollipops from another stand. The Cow's Coop brought a baby cow (calf); it was so cute. After, we went to get coffee at LaSalle's and walked around the town. The weather was perfect, the vendors were friendly, I look forward to going back and supporting more small businesses.

There is just something about Collinsville that resonates with me -it has a laid back Bohemian Hippie Vibe that is hard to put into words. Maybe its the dozens of happy pooches that wander around. Maybe its the ultra friendly vendors. Maybe its the drop dead gorgeous scenery as you look over the Crown and Hammer. Maybe it's all the bicyclists and joggers that are everywhere. Maybe its all that granola and nuts and seeds and tie dye. It's like hard to explain, man..... We bought some corn, and a pizza and biscottis from Collinsville bakery. There are quite a bit of vendors here, most definitely more than when we started patronizing the Market a few years ago. Beautiful fresh produce is available from dozens of stands, plus meats, baked goods, herbs, eggs, you name it. It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a Sunday Summer afternoon.

It's a little off our beaten path, but we were in the area and wanted lunch. We were very impressed…read moreby both the food and the prices. We'd had some similar vittles in a fancy New York restaurant, and the tab here was one tenth what we spent there. For my money, the food was just as good. Of course, the place in the city had a much different atmosphere and level of service, and if that's what you want then you expect to pay for it. At New England Pasta Company, you pay for the food. They get a lot of their stuff from local sources. My wife had the quiche of the day, and it was the first time in years that I'd tasted a real quiche, not those rubbery things that other places dish up. I had the pasta of the day, which was ricotta stuffed ravioli in an Alfredo sauce. It was fantastic. I saw other people eating sandwiches and salads. Everything looked delicious and generous. My beverage was watermelon limeade. It was very refreshing and not too sweet. For dessert, we had something called a ganache bar or something like that. Think of a slab of fudge with a graham cracker crust. It was very hard work finishing it, but I wasn't going to leave any behind. We took home a lasagna with meatballs and sausage. It was very good, as was the coconut wonder bar we pounded down on top of it. I'm not sure we'd drive there just for food, but if we're ever in the neighborhood we'll certain snag something to bring home. By the way, don't confuse this with Truffles, which is in the back. They are completely separate.

My favorite purchases were the fresh cut egg linguine and the Ritz-based stuffed cod. The fresh linguine cooks in a minute and the texture just hits different in the best possible way. The cod was nice and firm and the Ritz stuffing was crazy delicious. I also liked the Chicken Francaise. You can't really compare it to restaurant quality Francaise because it's specifically made to be re-heated and eaten later. With this in mind, I though that the small chicken pieces and lemon sauce were very solid. My other purchases included clam chowder and Tuna Mac Salad with peas. The Tuna Mac was pretty good. It wouldn't be in regular rotation for me, but I'd get it once in a while. The clam chowder was my least favorite, but I respect that New England Pasta seemed to go for something different. The texture was good and it had plenty of clams and potato. But it tasted like it had a little blue cheese flavor. I can't say for sure that they used blue cheese, but the chowder definitely had something different that gave it this vibe. For me, this flavor was a bit too assertive. I don't live near New England Pasta, but if I did, I would visit once in a while. Four Stars

Like, for example, they have an extensive selection of kimchi offerings. I also appreciate finding brands like Primal in stock. But, as other Yelpers have already stated, the prices are considerably more expensive than items found in your "normal grocery store". One reason might be the small ARMY of staff they have working here. I arrived just after they opened at 8am this morning, EVERY aisle had at least two or three employees stocking shelves. Yeah, the store is nice & clean, but I imagine the higher prices on stock reflect that level of staffing. The parking lot can be a mini adventure to navigate, but I try to get here early to avoid too much hassle. And since Whole Foods in Avon is a 20 mile round trip for me, I only come here to shop occasionally.
