I highly recommend this place! I've gone a few times, and I always have a blast when I go! The place has a great environment and vibe. Simon (the manager) is great! He is very patient and helpful if you are new to ax-throwing; he really makes sure everyone that goes there has fun. The games are also very fun. The only slight downside is that when it is very busy it can feel a bit cramped. Something different to do but so much fun. We had reservations as a group of 8 and we had two "bays" and enjoyed the competition. The guys were a little more into it than the ladies but we all had a great time. Their team offered helpful suggestions to improve our technique. Only criticism is some of the target boards were really sliced up, but we were nervous to throw both sides within a bay anyway. We would go again! Parking sucked so Uber if you can and eat at one of the restaurants on either side before/after you are done. read more

MANAGER SAFI HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. PSA SAFI (MANAGER) charges $45 when a customer breaks a SMALL axe and $130 for the LARGE axe. Mind you, the axe is NOT new, and has old wear and tear from previous customers/throws. SO BE CAREFUL CAUSE THEY DO NOT WARN YOU OF THE CHARGE NOR DOES THE WAIVER MENTION ANY AMOUNT. THEY CAN BE PULLING THIS AMOUNT OUT OF THEIR ASS. Also, please be mindful of how the axes are taped because some axes are not taped the same way! Interesting how the axe that was not taped like the others is the axe that broke! When the employee called the owner, he was sarcastic and said there was nothing he could do. He said "I saw how you guys were throwing it and it was incorrect." YET DID NOTHING TO CORRECT OUR TECHNIQUE. In his yelp summary, he states an "Axepert" will be with you the entire way (they weren't). Absolutely disgusted at the customer service at this place. Axeplosion in Lombard is WAY better. Will not be coming here again. read more

This place is great! Fun environment and laid back. The guys who work there were very helpful. Before we left from there, my wife and I became good at throwing an axe. Safi is a great coach and great with people. We also tried the VR lounge and enjoyed that as well. We tried out something new and different and really enjoyed it. I'm glad my wife and I picked this place, it's cheaper than most axe throwing places and they also have a VR lounge. This a cool spot to chill. Definitely coming back! read more

Visited Axeclusive with a group of seven and made reservations in advance. The manager was super friendly and helped us make sure we knew the rules, how to be safe in the space, and a few different ways to throw the Axe. They have a few lanes to reserve so you can take turns with large groups. (It worked out quite well.) We didn't try the VR but if they did have VR and all lanes full it might be a bit small which they manage with reservations. Each lane was full when we were there and it was enough room for everyone. We each had never been axe throwing before and overall, it was a great time, friendly staff, and a good experience doing something new. Definitely would go back. read more

The staff was very helpful. My suggestion would be to clean it up a bit and replace the boards regularly. Torn up wood makes it harder for new throwers. The lane we were on had a board that was barely recognizable. read more

Axeclusive was really fun, and we went with a fantastic Groupon deal (~$13 per person with a group of 3) for 90 minutes. Per deal, you get a station with 2 target boards and it's supposed to be up to 8 people per station. I think the activity itself was super fun and unique, but I don't think this is the best or safest axe throwing facility I've seen. For example, the stations were right next to each other, with no barrier between the areas where people stand, so for the covid situation right now, it's difficult to maintain social distancing. However, we went at 1pm when they just opened and were the only ones there which was nice and safe! Also, the lighting is really dim, which would fit the mood if you were to go in the evenings. But it just seems kind of dark and unused(?) in a way, compared to the upscale, modern bar style, and brightly lit axe throwing / vr facilities I've been to before. The most important improvement I would look for next time is the teaching -- the owner gave us a 2 minute tutorial but that was about it. I would think that for a dangerous sport like axe throwing, you might start off a 90 minute session with an optional 15 minute lesson and training/practice introduction. Especially because there's no automated safety system installed at this facility (ie: green/red lights to tell you when it's safe to throw, padded area for the axe to fall on), more safety training is essential. An additional improvement could be replays of graphics/short clips on how to throw the axe that would be playing on the TV's, or some posters on the wall for posture reminders some simple fixes would make this place really epic! read more

I made an online reservation the same day that we planned to go. We got there on time and had to wait a few minutes because there was a large party getting set up for VR. The guy working there (Safi, I think) was super nice and explained he would be with us in a few minutes. When he was ready, he took time to explain how to throw the axes. I love this place so does my 12 year old son. We booked it on New Year's Eve, I was so happy it was open. Great clean place, safe CoVid protocols. The main person who help me from start to end I think his name is Saffy he was so great with instructions and going around helping others to how to throw the axe. My kid had an amazing time. I was happy he was able to do it since a lot of this paces require 18 yrs and older, as a parent I felt safe to let my teenager do it.I will definitely come here again. Axe throwing and VR do not belong together. VR is supposed to be an immersive experience and you just hear ppl throwing axes against the wall the whole time. VR games also not great and not coordinated well w the space so you bump into walls while trying to navigate. read more

Bought a groupon for krypton vr lounge but found out it was an axe throwing lounge. If I knew, I would never have bought the groupon. Not suitable for kids and so noisy. Had a splitting headache by the end. Owner was so obsessed with the timer, didn't let it go over a minute maybe even ended earlier. Save ur money and go somewhere else. This place is fraud. The guy running it says one thing and then does another. He tried to tell us we couldn't use a Groupon after we told him we had the Groupon, but that was after he told us we couldn't participate because someone had reservations. While we were outside looking into other places to go, he told us to come in because the reservation left ten minutes into their session. In the 10 minutes we were inside, everyone else left. When he came to take the Groupon's he told us he wouldn't honor them. There are other places, go to one of those. read more
