After detailing the work needed, he told me he didn't want to waste his time or mine and that he was going to quote higher than others because I explained that we do a bidding process at the church. Called to get an estimate for my home and the owner (Andy) said that he did not want to waste his time on a quote for my home because it "costs" $300 to use the software program to do it. I am currently shopping around for contractors to see which one is the best fit for my home repairs and he told me that he doesn't want to waste his time giving me a quote just so I can make extra money off the insurance. He must think he knows everyone well without ever meeting them. Discrediting my integrity. Andy and Matt are a pleasure to work with and the opposite of everything I have heard and feared about contractors and remodeling. I was forced to remodel most of my mother's home due to a water leak that went undetected for about a week, and dreading it. I called Andy and he came out within the hour to meet with the insurance adjuster on site. He was a total bulldog with the adjuster and got us more insurance recovery then I could have possibly negotiated on my own. Matt and Andy also had great ideas to rework the small kitchen space to make it feel bigger and to provide more counter and cabinet space, and it turned out amazing. They also suggested new lighting that enhanced the space. We are thrilled with the updated yet classic look. Finally, the quality of their work is top notch all around. Just a few examples - I had to hunt for the seams in the stone counters, the floor and trim work was installed incredibly tight, and I had a very short 3-4 item punch list that they took care of quickly. Lastly, I was surprised how clean they left it. There was major demo and drywall work, and I was expecting drywall dust everywhere based on my last experience. They did a great job--I hired a professional cleaner to come in and clean again once we moved in and unpacked, and she commented how clean they left it, and that there wasn't a fine dust left on the shutters or ceiling fans. First things first, Axiom is a stellar company. The pipes in our upstairs laundry room failed; resulting in extensive water damage and requiring extensive repairs to the downstairs ceiling, laundry room walls, cabinets, and tile. Obviously a very stressful situation for anyone who goes through stuff like this. I called Axiom in the morning, Andy was here that afternoon. Axiom Construction is the REAL DEAL! I contacted Andy after having communication issues with a different contractor. He was responsive and came out to give me a bid right away. Then my insurance claim got delayed, and Andy was so kind. Axiom "put me on hold" when I could not afford to start the job until insurance paid out. Andy would touch base about once a week until we got insurance solved and started my job. I was impressed by this act. Then, the reconstruction from my water damage claim began. The first day Andy came out with his partner, Matt, and Mike the EXPERT cabinet maker. They got all final measurements and then the next day work started. First was Gabriel and Jose to do the drywall and texture. They completed in one day and it looked great. I want to mention here, EVERYONE from Axiom was polite, respectful, and hard working. The other HUGE thing is I live in a condo. My HOA approved a dumpster for a total of two days....useless for a week plus project. So EVERY SINGLE DAY these guys did their work then had to clean up and remove all work materials and haul off premise. I was worried about this and Axiom said, "we will work around it!" Back to it! Mike had built me some BEAUTIFUL cabinets off site to replace completely demo'd cabinets. When he came back to install them, they fit like a glove, and he finished with their installation. Incredible craftsmanship! Next came the flooring demo. Oscar and Jose ripped up the old, poorly installed flooring and hauled it off. Then came time to install the flooring. I was most nervous about this, as they did my whole condo. I worry NO MORE. The new flooring is down correctly, and is WAY BETTER than I had before. . Now new flooring was not complete until Gabriel and David came here to install upgraded baseboards, seal around the baseboards, and painted. Both Gabriel and David worked hard on the baseboards, painting (from painting the repaired texture to doing extra touch ups for me) and generally making sure the job was wrapped up, cleaned up, and final details handled. During the 8 day reconstruction period (YES, only 8 days!) both Andy and Matt would stop by to check on the job and the progress. This felt good to me, as I completely felt taken care of during the reconstruction. Not to mention Andy and Matt are extremely nice and very accommodating with any requests I had. AN EPIC EXPERIENCE OVERALL. I had such a hard time with insurance, yet when it came time to reconstruct, that part was a dream due to Axiom, Andy, Matt, and their wonderful crew. I contacted Andy at Axiom to help me with my mini remodel/renovation of all of my flooring in the house and the biggest project was the master bathroom remodel. I was asked what my budget was, my time frame, and when I'd hope to get started. We spoke around the summer/fall and then the project officially started the end of the fall, going into winter. The whole crew was amazing, the quality of work I couldn't of done myself. For the master bathroom, I had a shower/tub combo insert that the builder had put in and I absolutely hated it. I designed a beautiful walk-in shower with a bench, had a few meetings with the contractor and crew about the design and off we went. The end product is fabulous, great work was done and we stayed relatively close to the initial budget and stayed within the schedule. I cannot say enough about Axion Construction. My kitchen was left incomplete and in a huge mess after a previous company had torn down the cabinets and the drywall due to water damage. This so called reputable company failed to show up on several locations, never fixed the plumbing, and had every excuse under the sun as why they continued to be no-shows for committed appointments. My kitchen was demolished for over 2 months at this point! I called a few water damage companies and both directed me to Axiom. I emailed Axiom in desperation and I received a call from Andy just minutes later. He took the time to listen, explain the process to me, and get me scheduled immediately. After an extremely stressful and negative experience with a different local company, it was a breath of fresh air to have the restoration completed by Axiom. I came home to a flooded house and did not know what to do. Matt and Andy are two of the best human beings on the planet! I took bids from multiple contractors to build out my chiropractic / yoga space called 20/20 ChiroYoga, (I only mention this so you know it is a legitimate review) and I immediately liked them both and felt they were going to be honest, sincere, and they had some great ideas for my project. We re-did an entire space from top to bottom as it was practically an empty shell. From the time we hired them at the end of August, they were were hustling to help get me open and we passed our final inspections on November 2nd! It only took 9 weeks and we went from a drawing on graph paper that I had done, to architect, to permits, to actual construction. We had our Grand Opening on November 5th and our space looks beautiful. I will post some pictures so everyone can see what we started with and what we finished with. I called them to rebuild after a condo water loss was remediated by Superbest. The owner Andy McNeil really knew how to negotiate with the insurance company and presented the arguments well to the insurance company and in the right language to get all additional repairs approved quickly. From start to finish was 2 weeks. First 4 days was waiting to get approval and arranging for movers. Then it went fast! Patch drywall, install flooring, moldings and cabinets and plumbing in kitchen, hallways, dining area and nook, then paint. He responded to all questions very quickly, was available by email, text and phone call. The communication was great, there were no surprises, and his team was always courteous, professional, and did good work. The job was $16,000. He got us back to normal life again very quickly. I can't comment on their work because I didn't hire Axiom but I did receive a bid from them and it was, no kidding, 10x more than other general contractors (also licensed, bonded, insured) I received here from Yelp. It didn't seem like there was a misunderstanding on the scope of work, I supplied photos just the same. Maybe they're just ridiculously thorough??? Either way, I didn't get that they were affordable like the other reviewers thought. :( read more
