My wife and I love Mexican food. We went to Ay Caramba because it's nearby and we can find something we can like at any Mexican restaurant. The food was decent, nothing special. The service was legendarily bad. It took forever for someone to come to our table. When the server go to us she looked like she was about to fall asleep. She disappeared. Someone else finally brought our drinks. Our waitress finally came back later to take our order. I swear it looked like she was going to fall flat onto our table. I don't know if she was sick (not great, but dedicated) under the influence of something (not great, period) but my wife commented on it to me, matching what I was thinking. The food took a long while to come and, as expected, it took a long time for us to get and pay our check. Definitely a waste of our time. read more

We usually order takeout. The food is consistently very good. We love the Carne Asada fries. We also had the fajita burritos and the fajita taco salad. All of it was fresh, warm and really tasty. I appreciate the effort they make to be consistent and yummy. read more

Ordered take out from this restaurant, the man at the front counter was very friendly. The place itself looked spacious and clean not overly decorated. I ordered the Tierra Y Mar and it was so good! A nice amount of chicken scallops shrimp and the peppers weren't cut into huge chunks like I normally see at restaurants. The rice was cooked well. Made our first visit here a week ago and it was fantastic! Very unassuming from the outside, but warm and friendly inside. Staff was friendly and attentive and the meal service was outstanding. Very generous portions. The food is fresh, delicious and well presented. I had a Burrito Texana and it was massive, and despite the huge size there was no compromise in taste - it was delicious. Also had a margarita and it was one of the best I've ever had. I particularly liked the full lime flavor of the drink. Prices are very reasonable. Months ago we saw the coming soon sign & I thought "one thing we don't need is yet another Mexican restaurant". Tried them out for the first time tonight and was pleased to find that this is not just another Mexican restaurant. We were welcomed as soon as we came through the door & promptly seated. The seating is quality booth & chairs that we found comfortable as well as interesting to check out the artwork on. The restaurant was well lit with comfortable atmosphere. Despite being busy it was not noisy. The menu had lots to offer and very reasonable prices. Our server was able to answer all our questions and had no problems with some special requests. The food arrived the hottest I think I've ever had Mexican food hit the table. The waitstaff in general seemed to have good rhythm and were attentive without being too overwhelming. My only regret is not having tried this restaurant sooner. We'll definitely be back. read more

Fantastic!! My friends and I came by after a bike ride at Pocahontas State Park so we were ready for some food! My friend had been telling me about this treasure and boy were they right! We were seated with drinks ordered immediately, followed quickly by oh so warm chips with white sauce and salsa. Great portion for 3 hungry gals. What shocked me the most was their amazing lunch deals!! Affordable, sizable and delicious! We ordered and received our food in record time, hot and fresh! My friends had tacos, and commented on how there was no dripping grease which is a complaint at some other haunches. Not here though! I had the carnitas burrito lunch special and was not disappointed. Delish! Would've taken a pic because the food looked visually appealing, but we were ready to eat! I will definitely be returning soon to try some of their other main dishes. Making sure to come with an appetite!! COVID note: if you are concerned about COVID procedures here, I can say that all staff had masks and used gloves when delivering food. Customers all seemed to be following rules as well. I have been to Ay Caramba twice. I have enjoyed the service and food both times. I prefer this restaurant to the two other Mexican restaurants in the area as Ay Caramba's food is tastier. Tony is a part owner or manager and always greets us and sees that we are satisfied. So far every dish that I have had is very good with good seasonings. The restaurant is very clean with brand new Mexican decor. The wooden booths are made in Mexico. The serving sizes are large and reasonable. In this area there are not very many restaurant options and this restaurant stands out. We have also had their desserts and enjoyed them. read more

My husband and I absolutely LOVE Ay Caramba. The best white sauce and salsa around. The cheese sauce is also really good. I love that you can get rice at the bottom of your taco salad instead of beans which I haven't been able to get at any other Mexican Restaurant. We love the staff, especially Tony and Maricio. Hit and miss with this place, ate there 3 times and it was average at best. Last time we ate there the order was messed up and after we mentione it they took quite a while to get it straight so while everyone else was eating my friend waited quite a while for them to get it staright, everyone else was jsut about finished eating before her order came which made it kind of ackward for her. read more
