This review is really long overdue. Michael Ayala has done amazing work for various members of my family over the last year. The work has been varied in scope, from complex problem solving, to helping with a whole-home remodel, to the more straightforward - but every time, Michael has personally delivered a consistent and exceptional experience. Michael's work is characterized by meticulous workmanship, top notch professionalism and integrity, and a demonstration of mastery and expertise in his trade. And, he is just a really nice and hard working person. I know electricians must often employ guesswork, as they don't have X-ray vision to see behind walls and ceilings. They often have to commit to proposals based on existing wiring that they can't actually see, which puts their cost of labor and materials at stake. Their line of work must be very challenging when it comes to meeting their clients' expectations of a fixed price and timeline. The first time we hired Michael, he impressed us as the ONLY one, out of four electricians we talked to, who demonstrated a willingness and curiosity to problem solve, and the ingenuity to successfully find and execute the solution. Michael immediately understood that what might be easiest for him (tearing down floor-to-ceiling strips of drywall on 2 floors, as the other three electricians had proposed), was NOT the easiest or best solution for us. Now that the job is done, we can't even tell where he went through the drywall, if at all. Michael's true mastery of his trade is demonstrated here, where empathy for his clients is a non-negotiable part of his decision making. Finding solutions that are practical, safe, and non-disruptive as possible, is JUST as important to him as connecting the wires, so to speak. In my experience, this is a quality found more often in health care providers than in contractors. Michael is the real deal. He has a few dozen (all great) reviews - rather than a few hundred - because if you read carefully - every review mentions him by name. He is the owner of his business, the one picking up the phone, showing up to every call, and the one standing by his own work. He shows up on time, is respectful of your space, is communicative, responsive over text if that's your thing, and extremely patient. He double checks himself on the code where indicated, and even went over it with us when we had questions. So not only is his work safe, it also looks great. Great attention to detail, everything always looks level and sharp. He has proven himself repeatedly trustworthy with respect to how he approaches his proposals and how he bills for his work. His pricing is incredibly fair. For bigger jobs, the help he brought (David in our case) was top notch as well. Can't say enough about Mr. Ayala. Establishing new relationships with tradespersons can be really stressful and confusing.
