Came here on a Wednesday evening and it was a great night! The host seated us right away and quickly gave us menus. He was also serving as the bartender, so we didn't have to wait too long! We got peach/mint hookah, it is hands down the best mix I've had! The flavors were well balanced, the coals burned at the right speed and everything was flowing as it should. The seating is so comfy, allowing total relaxation. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in LES! read more

Ordered: Aziza Special Blend Hookah (~$35): includes mango, blueberry, and mint flavors Fresh Mint Tea (~$5) Aya's take: Let me get straight to the point. The good reviews are deceiving. Being Middle Eastern myself and a self-proclaimed hookah connoisseur, I was excited to come by after dinner to just relax and smoke. I've never seen a hookah lounge where the hookahs are already out on all the tables and they just bring the head with whatever flavor you want. But okay fine. We order the hookah and a minute later, the owner (Ronnie) brings out the head of the hookah with coals already on it. I was a bit skeptical that it was already pre-made. I also didn't get ANY essence of mint at all. And like I said, I'm super familiar with hookah. The smoke was good and overall flavor (whatever it was) was fine so we didn't complain. Then our "Fresh Mint" Tea comes out, and again no mint. I think he gave us Regular Tea. It tasted like absolutely nothing. The place is well-decorated to match the vibe of a hookah lounge but the seating arrangement isn't comfortable and in total, only about 15 people can fit here properly. The best part of this experience was the dope music playlist. Other than that, every other aspect was lacking. A 20% tip was automatically added which was weird because we were a group of 3 and the service is average at best. I later saw that I was charged an additional $3 to my credit card outside of what the receipt said. Glad I tried it but I wouldn't come back. read more

Cute little hookah bar! I came in alone and was there for an hour or two charging my phone and enjoying the atmosphere. I had the double apple mint and it was amazing! Also loved the music...! The gentleman who was working (I assume he's the owner) was so friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend! *as an aside, I'm shocked to see the one-star reviews below. My experience was SO incredibly pleasant (I mean surprisingly, above average pleasant) I find it difficult to believe others have been so dissatisfied. Aziza Cafe and Lounge is located on the west village... full of lots of bars on this strip. Came in and was seated super fast. Had a decent selection of hookah and can mix/match the flavorful according to how you feel. When walking in, hookah comes with a requirement of 1 drink person, which wasn't a big deal since my friend and I were drinking. Hookah was pretty decent, but burnt out fast. Clouds were nice and thick, so that was a plus. Place itself was small but nice. Fills up fast after 11pm Would be stopping by again read more

My boyfriend and I came to this place for some hookah and drinks. There was a group who was celebrating a birthday. The group consisted of mostly Hispanic individuals. It was also my birthday weekend. The owner played only Hispanic music for the group. We asked him if he can also play west indian music but he refused saying "I can't, Its her birthday" He also mentioned that they paid their money but we also payed for hookah and drinks. Our bill was approximately $200. The owner or the waiter was also hispanic and he was flirting with one of the women in the group which is why I believe he didn't accommodate us. We received inadequate service and this was absolutely distasteful! read more

Horrible experience. The server literally told us that they don't have most things available on the menu. Hookah was also not that great. I had to remind her 3 times to get us water even though they hardly had anybody there. On top of that the bill was outrageous. Save yourself from this place. read more

We visited this place on a recent trip to NY, and we were terribly disappointed. The place is tiny, and was completely empty aside from the young lady that worked there. The bathroom is so tiny and gross (ladies be careful not to hit your head on the sink when you sit down). Not to mention, the light switch is on the outside of the bathroom. We smoked one bowl (no refill), and shared one beer. Our bill was $38! 100% not worth it! Definitely would not recommend this place. Go to Kazuza. read more

Pros: - Great selection of Sheesa. - The flavor was strong enough to last for 45 minutes which is not bad at all. - The owner/ server was proactive enough to keep replacing the coal every 40 minutes [which is a pretty big deal in the Sheesha business] - Noise-free and meant for smaller groups. - They have a few vegetarian options as well Cons: - A tad too small maybe. I think that the service could off get better. We got a hookah, it was hash to fix it, he told us each time is happen just blow out the smoke, so 4 people smoking a hookah and every 5 min blowing out the smoke 0_0, every 15 min the guy went out side to smoke, right when we need it him. Experience wasn't bad at all. The gentleman here is friendly and attentive. Never had to ask to have coals changed because he does it when needed The place itself is very small, comfortable space for about 8 couples, which may be a benefit lending to a more cozy intimate feel The music was classic and modern hip hop mixed with a few other genres, and not so loud that you couldn't talk to one another. He has a tv up hooked to a computer and went back and forth between iTunes and YouTube playlists/music videos which was cool The hookah could have been a bit stronger, but I'd be willing to check it out again to see if it's more than okay read more

This new hookah place is small and cozy with good flavors, beautiful decor, and great service. They just opened recently and I'd been on the lookout ever since the sign went up a few weeks ago. I've been to almost every non-sketchy hookah bar int he East Village and LES and was getting a little tired of going to the same old places. But most new places are riding the trend instead of creating a great hookah experience. Boo. Aziza isn't like that. The vibe here is exactly what you want: relaxing and cushy and cool. The place isn't very big, so bringing a big group is probably not a great idea. But for two or three or four it'll be pretty comfortable. They have a nice offering of hookah flavors and the premium brands include Star Buzz (Blue Mist FTW!). With premium shisha you get a grapefruit bowl for free which helps the coals to last longer. Coal changes are free, but this means less time worrying over asking them to do so. Haven't tried the food yet, but the the tea I had was very good. Looking forward to coming back to this spot week after week for a while. read more

Right after dinner, we saw this hookah bar conveniently along the way and decided to hop in. It's a small space so don't expect to bring 8 heads deep and get a seat. The owner isn't really rude; he's actually a really nice guy. The fact is, if you come with 8+ people it's going to be hard to sit you and yes, he will unfortunately have to turn you away. I have no idea what hookah prices are on average but I paid 17.95 for a mix of mint and pineapple. Apple is a basic flavor so it's $14.95. The space is nice with Persian cushions and tables. It's dark as hell and it looks like a brothel from Eastern Europe. Especially when you see the faces of some hookah smokers. But his place has great music and a nice chill spot. read more

Came here on a Friday evening after work for some drinks & hookah & I'm happy I did. The place is small, however the hookah was good. They only serve wine & there's no happy hour. I mentioned to the gentleman the pics that's posted & he said it's not for his location, someone just attached that happy hour menu. It's very fairly priced & they do play music. There's also no belly dancers, which I asked if there ever was, which there wouldn't even be space for belly dancers. I would return. read more

Super place for hookah - super smooooooooooth! I loved the apple mint. And the drinks are good too, and you should know you're required to get them with your hookah. But that's no problem - I don't know why someone would expect to just do hookah and take up space without getting drinks. Service was friendly. I would definitely come back. Very chill, in the cut hookah spot. It's small, like the size of a bedroom small, with small tables and little chairs and bench style couches. Their hookah price is $15, amazing! And they a variety of flavors to choose from. There is a one drink minimum, their cocktail drink selection is kind of odd but you can also choose a soft drink or water. It actually reminded me so much of a hookah place that I went to in the Latin Quarter of Paris last year. I believe the owner attended us and he changed our charcoal several times and made sure that the hookah was running smooth. So if you're looking for a low key hookah spot, this place has you covered. read more

My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.

Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

First off getting a hold of this place is beyond impossible. They will just ignore your call repeatedly after picking up the first time and saying some unintelligible gibberish. Now to get to the reason why I called all the way from Utah without having ever been to this place. My girlfriend is on a trip to New York and at nearly midnight here I get a text from her telling me that a server named "Ronnie" was sexually assaulting her. Kissing her and trying to make out along with trying to get her to comply by bribing her with free bowls of hookah and wine. Maybe this is normal and I just don't understand because I'm not from New York. Regardless I don't think this is acceptable behavior for anyone anywhere. I wish I could give a lower review but I can't and that is being said without having step foot in the place. Regardless of the quality of service anyone else receives from this place please be careful if you're a young lady who is alone and just trying to relax somewhere or maybe get something to drink. To dark! You cant even see your friends face . Even A bottle water is $4 . They charge a service fee without asking if you want to tip. They use different flavors on the same hookah which gives a different taste of what you have ordered . The cols are the cheap once which you can taste in your hookah too. I opened the door for some fresh air but they told me i cant so that and closed it again. Overall this place is just as bad as all other hookah bars in new york. I couldn't hear the racist owner through the door and who decided not to open up the door, after me asking if he's going to open the door and talk to us or stare at us. He fortunately let us in because my friend is a frequent owner. It's fine that you don't want "rowdy" people in your establishment because you sell drugs in the back but you should be more polite to customer in order for you to stay off the radar. read more
