I've passed this place a million times and have always wanted to go in, because it looks so cute and cozy inside. Decided to stop in on a snowy Sunday night and it was the best decision of my weekend. The service is spectacular. I started with Carina at the bar, who made an incredible Gin Martini and made the best recommendation of the lamb sliders (to die for). Lilly closed me out and she was so kind!! The food is excellent! I highly recommend the lamb sliders!! The meat is so tender and good. The fries are expertly seasoned and the perfect amount of crispy and soft. The vibe in here is so great. The prices are pretty unbeatable for NYC standards. This is a midtown spot with a downtown vibes loved it!

Solid spot with great music and drinks. They have my fave drink which is a pornstar martini but their take on it is called "gardenia passion". I would recommend small bites such as the flatbread or chicken wings to have in between smoking the hookah and drinks. Again, the music is awesome and the overall ambiance is a vibe, can't wait to visit again!

Came here for a quick night out while I'm on a work trip. Spent about an hour here and opted to sit outside. Unfortunately the wifi doesn't work outside, but the service was still great! I did get to try their espresso martini it looked very creamy and I thought it might not taste as good but I was surprised with how yummy it tasted. 10/10 recommend!

Great ambiance- came on a Friday night with friends and it's the perfect place for hookah, appetizers, and drinks with good music playing. However, the food was okay- nothing to cry about. The chicken wings were dry, but the eggplant dip, meatballs and lamb sliders were great. Keep in mind- drinks are pricey here, but it's Manhattan, what do you expect? Service could definitely improve. My waitress was always missing, and what's annoying is that tip was already included for service that definitely wasn't 20% quality. Also, they basically kicked out our party from our reserved table after we finished paying the bill which I found rude. Anyways, I'll definitely return only for drinks, hookah, and apps- not for meals.

I went to Gardenia Terrace on a date recently and had a wonderful time. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while because I had heard they are halal and have great hookah. The hostess was super friendly and accommodating on the phone. It was busy on a Saturday but not packed. This is a beautiful dimly lit restaurant with fire music so definitely come here on a date! We ordered mocktails, hookah and lamb sliders to share. The hookah was made well, very smooth. We went with a flavor our waitress recommended and I loved it. I do wish however that the flavor would come through more. I think they probably pack their bowls lightly or are using a weak flavored tobacco. Lamb sliders were delicious, fries were perfectly crispy and fresh. I do think the bun on the sliders could be slightly less doughy, and I think toasting them more would make this dish texturally better. Other than these small improvements my overall experience was lovely and I recommend you go and try this place out.

I am counting down the days to go back already! Seriously best place ever! I came here with my best friend and my sister based on my sister's recommendation since she had been there before and I'm so glad we listened to her. We came for lunch and had to get a hookah (summer fling- get it you won't regret it !) - we added the fresh fruit , wow amazing ! To eat we shared the meatballs , the hummus, the white mushroom flatbread and the octopus salad - when I say everything was incredible I mean it (drooling thinking about this food) . Even my spicy margarita called "picante" was on point. The service was great and the vibe was cool. I am looking forward to coming back and hopefully for the night time which I hear is amazing and fun !

Went Friday after work with my coworker, we had a good time, but the experience was quite expensive. Drinks, food and hookah were good. As well as the service, I just wish they played more urban music. The atmosphere was pretty nice, in my opinion, it gives the vibe of a coffee shop and lounge. Between the two of us, we spent $276 on fried calamari, 2 lamb sliders, 2 lychee martinis, 2 gardenia passion, 2 vodka shots, and $40 hookah. Oh and they automatically add 20% gratuity to the bill!

I've been coming here since 2020. Unfortunately, I've moved to Cali, so I can't visit as often. However, whenever I'm in NYC, I make sure to stop by at least once. The atmosphere is fantastic, the seating is cozy, and the place has a very modern vibe. The service is excellent--very professional. The hookah is of high quality, and the food is simply amazing. It's a great spot to chill and chat with friends before late-night hours, especially since it gets livelier later on due to the in-house DJ! Just a reminder though, they already include tips in your bill.

I came here after work to meet up with a friend for some drinks and hookah. I got a peach mint hookah and it was great! I ordered three drinks and they all tasted delicious. This is a great little spot to come to during the week after work. It's a very chill and low key atmosphere and it's not too loud, so you can still enjoy a conversation with friends. The service is always great here.

Ordered: Gardenia Passion (~$17): Tanqueray, fresh lime juice, passion fruit pureé, Monin vanilla syrup, topped with Prosecco Social Butterfly (~$19): Empress 1908 Gin, lime juice, simple syrup, aquafaba, peach mist Summer Fling Hookah (~$60): Love 66 (passion fruit, honeydew melon, watermelon, mint), blueberry, lemon and orange base Gardenia Sampler (~$14): baba ganoush, tzatziki, olive tapenade, with warm pita White Mushroom Flatbread (~$16): mozzarella, garlic, wild mushrooms Parmesan Truffle Fries (~$10) Aya's take: Gardenia Terrace has been on my list for a while and I finally got to try it when we were out for a friend's birthday. There aren't many places in the city that offer food, drinks, and hookah so this place is great for celebrations or just a fun night out. Both cocktails I got were beautifully crafted, sweet, fruity, and well-balanced; the Social Butterfly was my favorite of the two. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Everything was well-made and well-priced! Since we were a large party, getting a bunch of shareables was the way to go. The major disappointment was the hookah. As a Middle Eastern person, I've had my fair share of hookahs and also make it myself usually, the flavors just didn't mesh together well and ~$60 for a hookah is actually insane. I appreciated that they rotated the coals often when we asked, but the flavors weren't potent and barely came through during the 2-3 hours we were there. The other disappointment was the music. They had a DJ who plays a lot of electronic/European-esque music and it was way too loud. Some hip-hop or R&B would've made the vibe a whole lot better. All in all, it was a good time with many hits and some misses. Glad I finally tried it!

This STICKS OUT. It is French, it offers a sunlit outdoor patio and rests on New York cobblestone. Only the finest. We ordered their 30 dollar happy hour wine selection (their choice of white, rose or red). We went for rose as it was only approaching cocktail hour. Ended up spending $60, do your own math! As for food, this was where I had a blonde moment. The French wordings of cheese or meat was simply something I haven't even seen in France. So what to do? Tell our server we love rich goudas, goat cheeses and manchego's; but stray from any blue cheese family member or associate. He brought an array of an assortment! Not because I am a model, but because I believe in proportion sizings, especially when it comes to the delicacies within the cheese world I aspire to be apart of. NO MORE BREAD PLEASE, I begged as I calm and swiftly maneuvered the slices into my concerned and judged mouth. We also enjoyed the escargot, 10/10. Get the escargot and wine babes xxx

If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Despite not being a vodka person, vodka in dirty martinis is the one exception I will make from time to time, especially when there is a fun infusion that elevates the drink. I was extremely happy that, after ordering it, our server asked if I wanted it with a regular olive or feta-stuffed olive, as if there is really any deliberation that needs to happen there (read: feta-stuffed olives are a no-brainer). For the rest of the night I just got dirty martinis or espresso martinis which are both particularly excellent here. My partner tried the La Osa Albarino (Val do Salnes, Rias Biaxas, Spain) with our entrees which I also enjoyed. Food-wise, we got to sample a decent portion of the menu being a party of four, though we didn't order any of the bigger entrees (mostly because we could not justify the price). Everything was great and the only reason this isn't five stars is just because I reserve that for experiences where things are mind-blowing/super memorable and as they say, it is called the Hall of Fame not the Hall of the Very Good. In any case, it's hard to pick out a favorite dish because we really enjoyed everything, but that is a good sign for the rest of the menu should you want to order something we didn't try. Everything was an A or A+ in this meal so I'll skip the letter grades for this review. Eats, below: Norwegian Yellowtail Tartare w/ Ezme, Borage, Sumac Light, delicate, relatively straightforward as far as tartares go but the ezme adds a nice touch that's a nod to the Mediterranean. Gem Lettuce Salad w/ Dill, Scallion, Cucumber, Sesame-Anchovy Vinaigrette Super fresh and delicious, perhaps a little Caesar-esque but with far more intrigue. Sugar Kiss Melon w/ Stracciatella Di Buffala, Spicy Coppa, 25 Year Balsamic We actually decided to nix this at the last second when we realized we may have ordered a bit too much food but our lovely server brought it anyway (she really made the night for us). This could even be a dessert-type dish if you'd like, but certainly works among the savory courses too. Charred Spanish Octopus w/ Potato, Mint, Aged Sherry The octopus was beautifully cooked and presented, seasoned well, no notes on that. The potatoes were decent but less exciting than the rest of the dish imo. Roasted Dorade w/ Tamarind Glaze, Pomegranate, Jalapeño, Herb Salad Absolutely loved this dish. According to our server, it's on the opposite end of the spectrum from the branzino, which is a cleaner, simpler preparation (and the whole fish), while this is a total flavor bomb. While I do love branzino, I'm glad we opted for this at less than half of the price. And I'm pretty sure the last time the four us went out for dinner we ordered a full fish and I'm pretty sure it was branzino so here's to shaking things up. Rocky Mountain Lamb Chops w/ Black Garlic, Ras El Hanout, Mint Chermoula Despite not usually being a red meat person I really loved these. Incredibly juicy and flavorful, making a strong case for being priced as high as they are. Honey Spiced Carrots Don't sleep on sides! Often an afterthought but they deserve a seat at the table, and these were good evidence of this.
