I love the decor and ambiance of this place. My friend got tea, neither of us tried the other drinks or food. Had mango hookah with some mint. The staff is very nice and brought an extension cord over so I could charge my phone. The vibe is very relaxed. It wasn't busy when we came around 8pm on a Saturday evening.

More people should go to hookah lounges. They are honestly so chill. The vibe here is great with ambient lighting, nice couches, and a good staff. Hookah is yummy and I'm relaxed. Everything came fast and I'm a happy camper.

This place is a great spot to lounge and smoke some sheesha with friends late at night. We were able to get a reservation for a group of 8 on a Saturday night, which can be pretty tricky sometimes. While there are a lot of flavors, the ones we tried were definitely on the weaker end. That being said, what really made the experience for us was being allowed to order food to the place and eat in our area. We were able to chill and smoke and drink while waiting for delicious wings to arrive! Since this place stays open quite late, there was no rush as well, which was great. One catch is that they don't accept credit card, but Venmo seems to be accepted which is a decent alternative. There is also an ATM inside otherwise. Overall, really nice spot i will definitely visit again!

The best place in New York for hookah. Staff is especially wonderful. Delicious hookah and dinner. I met my wife here.

Pretty cool hookah spot to hang and just chill. Went with some friends after dinner and we had a great time. We sat in the back and the host was great!

After a dinner date and a couple of drinks I ventured over here on a Friday night because I wanted to give the hookah thing another try being that my first experience with it was a joke. With help of my fellow yelpers we found a place in the east village and it did not disappoint . Now I'm not a hookah connoisseur , but i have to say by far this was the best hookah lounge I've been to.The atmosphere was great , the mint green tea was amazing and the shisha itself was even better . The hookah was reasonably priced at $18 and lasted all night , however there is a one drink minimum per person and be sure to bring cash when you come here. It was a bit comical that they had a non-smoking sign , but none-the-less its a great place to unwind. The wait-staff is very friendly, and they change the coal frequently ... if you are looking for a low-key spot in the east village this is definitely it.

    Mint tea! Sooo good!

We went on Saturday- they opened around 5 but we had to wait a bit for them to open up but it was well worth it! First thing you notice is the atmosphere which is fantastic. After walking around the city all day its the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We ordered the Cardamon Tea and the Mint Moroccan Tea- so delicious!! And you get the whole pot for $5! We ordered the watermelon hookah which sounded like it might be a little too mild but it definitely wasn't- so yummy and service was great. The owner(s) are super nice and we ended up getting another round of hookah For a Saturday it was so nice and quiet, the music wasn't blaring like some Hookah lounges and was very clean. I loved the fact that it was just us and another couple. We'll definitely be coming back, this place is worth a trip in itself. It would be fun with a group- but it's 3 per hookah so plan accordingly! (Hookah is $18 a round- but lasts a decent amount of time!!)

How cool does the exterior look?

Such a cozy and intimate find in the heart of the East Village. The hookahs are very well maintained; there's a huge assortment of flavors too. I decided on the coconut hookah. Awesome. The drink menu is pretty much beer, wine, and hot/cold beverages. I had the hibiscus iced tea which was really refreshing. Last thing, the staff are super accommodating and they're a big part of the reason I'll return for another experience. I will definitely be back. Enjoy!

I've been here twice now. One time with a friend and another time alone for hookah. (Party of 2 and then solo) The place has a decent vibe. And the hookah is actually pretty good with decent service. I have two issues with this place. The restroom is really small with the trashcan always sitting on top of the toilet. Most recently there were bugs crawling all over the restaurant including roaches. Secondly the main thing that really convinced me to post a negative review for this place is their application of service charge on the bill. Their printed menu states that they will add a service charge for party of five or more people. Both of the times I've gone there to service charge has been added automatically to my check. And that too at 18%. With an additional space for tips. Now I get the whole argument about how waitstaff is not paid enough by the management. But to add a service charge for a party of two or even one is really ridiculous. And the too does not follow their own printed menu. On both occasions I paid the service charge but I really dislike this practice of presuming that that amount must be paid by the guest.

    Great hookahs!

Ask the Community - La Sultana Cafe

Do they allow e-cigs or vaping?

    It's a hookah joint--smoke the hookah!

    Is there an age limit?

Not sure, the majority of the drink menu is juice and tea. There may be wine or beer as a limited option. However, the legal age for smoking is 18 and I'm sure that applies at any hookah lounge.

I'm a fan of the higher priced Sultana Mix just due to the taste of spices, but that's just my preference.

Service is fast and friendly, and the food is pretty good too. My one complaint is that it is extremely loud! My ears actually hurt after watching one of the Knicks games. I wish they would turn the volume down for the music and the broadcast. My friends who were there had to wear earplugs, which I would have used if I had them. For that reason, I'm hesitant to come back, but if that excites you, I think you would love this place.

Cheap (relatively speaking) booze. I had the Great Gatsby, made with tequila, peach schnapps,…read morepeach puree, agave, and lime juice. It was okay, especially for 16 dollars off Times Square. I was killing time before a show, otherwise you'd never catch me dead in this part of town. It was busy, but service was prompt. They have basics, cosmo, martinis, margarita, aviation, jack and soda, mules, and cheap wine. Food includes salads, Rubens, chicken sandwiches, pizzas (but do you really wanna get your New York style pizza from here?). Lots of shareable apps like quesadillas, wings, shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries, sliders, nachos. They also have burgers. Again, not fancy, not mind-blowing. But an easy place to step into a chill for a while when you have some time to kill on broadway.
