Truffle Fries with Parmesan & Truffle Oil
Roxy M.

The truffle fries were great. Hot and fresh with two sauces. The espresso martini was made with fresh espresso. The restaurant is super cute. The host was friendly and made conversation. Made us feel welcomed. It's covered in the winter.

1 star for the service because we did not have a reservation, but the host sat us right away with no issues. Also, our server was kind and attentive. 2nd star is specifically for the drink Solstice because that was the best thing out of everything we ordered. The ambiance was nice. There's a bar where they were playing the knicks game. I was expecting more of a view since it's a "rooftop", but maybe it's just because of where we were seated. The other reviews were absolutely right about the food. It really wasn't anything to rave about as you can get way better calamari and penne vodka at other places within a mile radius. Right after dinner, I started having serious stomach pain and nausea... let's just say everything I ate came right back up. I had a feeling something wasn't right when I couldn't even finish the food. I do not recommend this place for anything except drinks.

This place is nice because it is on a rooftop but unfortunately the views from this restaurant aren't the best; you have more of buildings blocking the view. The food was good. It was average. It is pricey but it's also NYC. The service was good.

Got a chance to visit this establishment while visiting NY with my mom. Very nice ambiance and the drinks and food was amazing chicken was seasoned well and juicy. My mother enjoyed there mint type of nonalcoholic drinks. Promised to bring her back on our return to New Haven Rooftop. Awesome crème brûlée. The service was great. I highly recommend this establishment.

I've been wanting to visit Haven Rooftop for a while because of the cute decor and I finally did on a weekend night. I'd suggest reserving because it did get busy but they have bar seating in case you're just dropping in. The place wasn't AS packed as it got later in the night when me and my gf came but the service wasn't the best. You can tell our waiter was running around but he was really nice. Our table was lopsided so we asked the manager if it can be fixed and she said yes and walked away but never ended up fixing it... We decided to order an appetizer which was the tuna tartare and it was a solid app. I like that they paired it with wonton because it's crunchier. I definitely don't think the size is worth the $24 cost. We ordered drinks too and they were pretty good but I liked my gf's more. She ordered the Solstice while I had the Cloudtini, which is basically a lychee martini. We were looking at the food menu and didn't really care for anything on it, especially not for the pricing. I also saw bad reviews about the food so I was hesitant. We decided to move to the bar and they accommodated us quickly and we just got more Solstice drinks! I'd say A+ for drinks and decor. I'd like to revisit for brunch since I've heard good things about the food.

Ate here for lunch while waiting on my hotel room to be ready. In town celebrating a friend's birthday so we were a party of 7. We were seated relativity quickly. Most of the table ordered margaritas, I opted for a Prosecco. I ordered the burger with truffle fries ($2 up-charged). Burger was pretty good. I could only eat half. Truffle fries were great. My second Prosecco came in a broken glass. I realized it after I had already knicked the inside of my lip. Notified the waiter and he just brought a new one. The rooftop view is nice and the heaters felt great.

Best chicken wi gs I've ever had out side of Buffalo NY where wings were born!

Beautifuly and wonderfully set up. Classy. Spectacular food and drink. We ordered the Chicken wings, shrimp Cocktail and lobster roll to share. All were spot on! Margaritas with Tajin were spot on. Staff was amazing. Being retired from food service Industry 33 years! I realized the team had a struggle. They were short some staff. I was impressed that several upper Level management stepped in to help. " Rolled up their sleeves" and got down to business helping the staff. Several apologies were made by several staff for the delay or thanking for patience. I get it I've lived it. They handled it well and all our needs were met. Great food. Great drinks Great views. I love a roof top bar in good weather. Definitely will be back Ned from Rochester NY

I'm so happy we made a reservation for brunch. It looked so cute from the outside (we could see the restaurant from our hotel) and it was. It's of course on a rooftop, with pops of color from the flowers sprinkled throughout for decoration. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros based off the our server's recommendation and I'm glad I did. It had a nice healthy portion of avocado and the sauce was full of flavor. My friend had the bacon, egg, cheese sandwich which she liked but thought was kind of plain. But what stood out the most was the service. Our waitress Pandora was amazing from start to finish. As were all the other helping staff. The bottomless mimosas for brunch were definitely worth the price.

4.5 stars - Beautiful rooftop views, amazing service, and a salmon dish that was cooked just right. Overall Impression: My friends and I visited NYC for the 4th of July weekend, and our first stop was Haven Rooftop -- and it did not disappoint. Between the views, the energy, and the service, this place is a solid start to any NYC trip. Service: Our server was honestly one of my favorite parts of the experience -- super funny, friendly, and made us feel completely taken care of. We got along so well and it made the meal feel way more fun and personal. You can tell he genuinely cared about the table. Food: I ordered the Atlantic Salmon, but asked to substitute the lentils and spinach for mashed potatoes. They had no problem with the switch, which I appreciated. The salmon itself was really well done -- I asked for it medium-well, and they nailed it. Crispy on the outside (but not overdone), and super juicy on the inside -- exactly how I like it. The mashed potatoes were a nice, smooth pairing. I'd rate this dish an 8.5/10. Ambience & Views: The rooftop views are definitely a highlight. It's a great spot for pictures, and it doesn't feel overly packed or chaotic -- just good vibes and a nice breeze. The space felt upscale without being stuffy. Final Thoughts: Overall, Haven Rooftop is a solid 4.5 stars for me. Great food, even better service, and the kind of atmosphere that feels like a mini escape in the middle of the city. I'd definitely come back -- especially for brunch or another dinner with friends.

The sliders were one of the best from what I've had. Drinks and food came quite fast too. The decor is flowery and fairy like. Only thing is they dont have a kids menu. Regardless of that, I definitely recommend.

The Haven Rooftop restaurant is near Rockefeller Center and offers a pleasant dining experience for anyone visiting the area (or locals, like us!). It's got skylight ceilings and a great bar, and lots of tables. We came on Christmas Day and started with margaritas (excellent) and Haven's guac and chips (some of the best we've had in a while). Their lunch menu included their signature sliders, egg sandwiches, steak & eggs, and margarita pizza. Everything was delicious and served promptly by friendly staff. It's a touch pricey, but it's rooftop dining! We had a great time and look forward to dinner there soon.

Very cute escape from busy NYC. The rooftop is gorgeously decorated and has lots of fans and air units. The food was subpar. I got the lobster roll and for $32 I expected more. The service was fast and polite. I would come again but maybe order something different.

My second time at this place. The last experience was during nighttime. I recommended the place during today's daytime dining after watching a show in NBC. We made a walked in visit and lucky to get seats. The view is not as magnificent in comparison to other rooftops in midtown but descent enough to get a fun time. It is the closest rooftop from Rockefeller center. The dining area is a bit small. Food is alright but cocktails are great. They have party section for any private events. There is an ongoing one during the visit. Efficient service. The rooftop is on top of Sanctuary Hotel. Beautiful lobby.

Haven Rooftop Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Haven Rooftop

Are teenagers allowed for dinner if accompanied by parents?

Yes I believe so

What floor is the Rooftop on?

Is there a smoking section?

I don't think smoking is permitted in any NYC restaurants, indoor or out.

Is this rooftop only 21+?

In the bar area, but if seated, no.

Are they open for lunch during the week?

Is there hookah?

Didn't see any. Highly doubt it

Is there a dress code? can we dress up for a birthday? what type of music is played?

Absolutely not! It's fairly casual, just be comfortable!

Debating on going here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Do you guys recommend? Also if I ask for good seating would they do it?

Don't waste your money - go to NYC instead, same pricing

Do you have to be 21+ to get in? I am doing a dinner with family and a few are 20 wont be drinking.

Is the patio heated ? would it be too cold to have a pre theater dinner in October?

I ask that same question on Friday, September 27th. They advised that they will enclose the rooftop and put on the heaters when necessary.

Are hats allowed?

No they will ask you to check it.

Is there a certain time they have brunch on Sunday?

11:30-3pm

Do they have any happy hour specials?

Yes

Do they host large parties?

I would assume so. Contact them

Is there hookah available during brunch hours?

Not. Note to follow

Are reservations required for a Sunday afternoon?

They "prefer" that you have a reservation. I recommend that you make one. It doesn't hurt. They are good about calling and confirming your reservations.

Do they do hookah here on the rooftop?

No, they do not.

Does this place provide virgin beverages?

Yes.

Doe they have hookah here?

No, they don't. And make sure you make reservations ahead of time.

Is there a minimum age to enter?

It's a restaurant so no age limit. The servers or bartenders will ID anyone that orders alcoholic drinks and appears under age.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Would definitely recommend to visit if you like gothic stuff and tiki bars.

Dim lighting, plush seating, rich wood + wallpaper details, and that lounge-library vibe make the place feel like a secret hideout right in the middle of Midtown. It's moody, cozy, and effortlessly intimate -- perfect for a date night, a chill catch-up, or just a night out with good drinks. Nice service, too! However: be ready for the price tag.
