We always enjoy coming here. Food is consistent and average. They always seem to be a little understaffed and the restaurant is warmer than i prefer. While it seems to have potential it's never a first thought due to lack of attentive wait staff. It seems more to do with under staffed or inexperienced than the waitstaff not caring. Today for example they had 4-5 people on the floor several young ladies that delivered our food but couldn't tell us what was supposed to be what.....disappointing when you have to figure out who's omlette is who's and the girl delivering it just stands there and says I don't know what I'm supposed to do. We'll probably hit them again eventually but not anytime soon. It's a shame because this place has potential to be that local greasy spoon dive but continues to disappoint on the service. read more

The place, chairs, walls, etc are in bad shape. If you sit in booth against the "right wall" as you walk in, then be ready for a wall of food, and whatever else it is, plastered everywhere. My husband and I are new to the area and popped in last night just as they were closing and they welcomed us in anyway. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I am sure they were ready to go home but they never treated us that way. We ordered the Brisket special and I found it a little tough but it was the end of the day_so I don't hold it against them. The potato salad was good and the salad was clean. I am a freak about the lettuce in my salads, I am very picky about wilted or browned lettuce, which I did not get. Some cheese or bacon bits would have been nice but the salad was good. The cafe was clean and wait staff was nice, we will return!!! read more

THIS PLACE IS N-A-S-T-Y as hell!! In men's room a pile of tp is in a mound with FECES! The portions are a joke & you better smell/inspect meats & fishes. Sides are OLD FOOD & the place needs to be blasted with bleach! Too much meth-head hollering & most hostesses can't refill your cup/glass even when staring at it being empty. I love the food and the service here. I went with my hubby and we both love this home town cafe. I got the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans. My hubby had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. The portions were big and filling. The waitress was friendly and prompt. We left so full and happy. read more

Stopped here while we were at an event in Azle. Quite possibly the worst, most overpriced food I've ever had. The only thing even remotely warm were the French fries. Steak fingers were super salty and the instant gravy was gritty. My glass of ice water was great. Only giving it 1 star because it went let me leave it blank. read more

This establishment seems dirty and cluttered and quality of service is unpredictable due to a constant turnover of wait staff. I do not believe the vegetables are fresh in spite of their claims. Often they taste canned. The overall feel of the dining room is uncomfortable and there is a lot of waiting involved...service issues but also kitchen delays of one kind or another. Have spent lots of money on steak night but rarely get one as ordered and repeatedly told the cooks are new and not great at doing medium rare. I'm tired of it and it's never gotten better. The owner seems intimidating and unfriendly and unapproachable and clearly does not hold her establishment to a high standard not only in the meals they serve but also with staff and their appearance. I have had a waitress with nipples showing through her top, another with her pants barely pulled up. It's a rough crowd there folks. If you want to eat at a place that gives cold food, waitresses ignore you, food takes 30 min. You have to get up and pour your own coffee then go to it. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and it should be easy a quick to make. Sorry for such a bad review but if you give compliments you need to give the opposite sometimes. My advice to the Owners get reliable workers when you have a kitchen one worker is not enough you need min. Of three cooking and waitresses need to be engaged with customers not drinking and talking in corner. It's the owners responsibility to make sure of staff reliability. Slow to get food out but the people are amazing. And the food is fantastic. And there is plenty of parking as long as you don't mind mud.

My family and I went in to eat last night and had a very horrible experience. We were seated and first it took forever for the drinks to come then we sat for 30 minutes before we were seen again. Finally they came to take order and refills, but when our food came out after another 30 minutes it was very cold and we had to wait again for drink refills. Highly disappointed!! Server couldn't have looked anymore miserable than she did. I ordered the cajun chicken po-boy. It had one small grilled chicken breast that was smaller than what you get at McDonald's and it cost 8.99 with no sides!! I paid $9 for 4 bites of food. This place is a throwback. It's the cafe from 1968 at the edge of town. The food is great. It's too hot. Nothing is polished about the servers, the decor, or the place. Service may be a little slow, but sometimes it's just perfect. You just want to say it's not that good. Then you realize you really dig it and are glad it is in Azle. I hope this place is here forever and we will keep coming back. read more

I stopped in there on a Friday morning about 1030 for breakfast. I'm new to the area and I saw it and thought hey let's try it. It was quite possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had. I sit down and gentleman came over brought me some coffee came back in about five minutes and took my order. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette crispy hashbrowns two pieces of wheat toast. After about 30 minutes of noticing three different couples come in order eat and leave I asked if it was going to be much longer. He then came out and explain that the orders which they send in on the laptop didn't make it back in that they would be out shortly and apologized. Hey things happen I get it free coffee so cool. About five minutes later he brought my mail out and the hashbrowns were wrong I looked down and I looked up and he said problem and I said yes and he looked at my plate and said crispy hashbrowns I said yes her so he said I'll just go get you some donate those. Fine took care of the problem moving on. I cut into the omelette and egg white literally ran out. It was yellow on the outside and cooked and raw as when it was dropped out of the shell on the inside. He brought me my hashbrowns I ate my hash browns and the toast was good. When you came back out to clear the table he saw the omelette was a meet and he said what's wrong. I said it wrong and I showed him and he said I'm sorry about that he said tell you what I'll pick up your breakfast. OK fine so I paid for my coffee left him a tip and went on my way. But absolutely the worst breakfast I think I've ever had. I went down the road found another café And had breakfast. I wouldn't recommend it nor will I go back. The only reason for the two stars is because they did pick up the meal and the kit my coffee cup full. read more

Staff was wonderful and friendly. The food is what gets three stars from me. I had the build your own omelette and I put potatoes, bacon and jalapeños on it and it was still tasteless while the hash browns were greasy and mushy with no seasoning. My husband had a big breakfast platter that had a little bit of everything on it. The bacon was gross. My husband loves bacon and I have never seen him turn it away but he did this bacon. The gravy tasted like paste and his hash browns were like mine. We will probably try it again and then i will update my review. read more

Today was the 5th time that we have eaten here at the Azle cafe since we moved here to the area. We decided to give it one last try before posting this review. We came for breakfast after church and once again for the 5th time, we were highly disappointed in the service and we will never go back again. We got to the restaurant and after 10 minutes of waiting we placed our order and patiently waited. Well several other people came in and ordered and soon got their food. We were still waiting. The waitress said that our order did not go through and submitted it again. (Well I would believe that if it was the first or maybe even the second time this has happened to us, but 5 times now "Really") When we were about to leave and pay for our coffee that's when our food came. Once they brought the food to the table, we realized that they messed up our order, and that took longer too! VERY DISAPPOINTED AGAIN FOR THE 5TH TIME!
