I have previously written two one star reviews for this restaurant: one when it was called Cinco de Mayo and one when it changed it's name to Azeteca Mexican Grill. I haven't eaten there since that last review in 2013. I recently learned that they have a Sunday brunch. Against my better judgement I decided it try it. Things can change for the better. So I arrived Sunday morning and was impressed with the beautiful layout of the buffet. The first thing visible is an impressive dessert table with a wide variety of cake, cheese cake, cookies and other yummy looking things as well as a large assortment of fresh fruit Well, this is off to a good start, I thought. There were quite a few metal containers containing hot food. I asked which ones contained dishes without meat. There were two. One contained rice and beans. The other contained juevos rancheros which is a dish that I typically love. The rest were loaded with all sorts of meat that really looked dried out and over cooked to me. I am a vegetarian, so my evaluation of the taste of meat carries little weight; however I know overcooked meat when I see it. There was also a table of not too interesting looking salads and a taco table with a limited amount of ingredients to make your own tacos. They also custom make omelets to order. The staff was very diligent in keeping the food looking good and the buffet tables neat. They seemed to have a sense of pride where that was concerned. They were also very friendly. Here's the thing: if I am going to pay $14.99 to have a Sunday brunch at a Mexican restaurant then I expect a nice array of Mexican foods in addition to more conventional breakfast dishes.. The Mexican offerings were scarce and sub par. I had a made to order veggie omelet which was over cooked and dry. I doctored it up with a white cheese sauce which was good and some hot sauce. The juevos ranchero was horrible in every respect. I think it is not a dish suited to being kept heated for an extended period of time. I made myself some nachos at the taco bar. They were OK, but obviously missing from the offered ingredients was guacamole. I had a small piece of waffle. I love crispy waffles. But this was soggy. I chose a slice of yummy looking crumb cake for dessert. I love crumb cake. But it turned out to be flavored with almond. I do not like almond flavoring so that turned out to be a disappointment as well, although I can not blame the restaurant for my personal taste in ingredients. I ended with a churro that was good. My bill was over $18.00 for the buffet and a coke. It was not nearly worth the money. I would have been disappointed paying $6.99 for the quality of the food. In addition the place had been remodeled to a boring modern look --- nothing Mexican about it. Previously it had been a delightful Mexican theme with colorful carved chairs. That too was a disappointment --- no good food, no good atmosphere. So, once a gain I will be boycotting the Azeteca grill. You'll have to come up with some amazing and creative ad campaign to draw me back again. read more

Arrived to pickup takeout on 7/18 at 7:15. The time the restaurant told me to arrive. It took me 30 mins to receive my order. After demanding a refund the owner Ramon came out with nothing but excuses! The owner Ramon did not process my refund. Excellent food with many options. Azteca has a great atmosphere that is modern casual with lots of local flair. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were having a great dinner. Visit Manny at the bar and ask for his margarita by name. read more

Went in for Sunday brunch buffet. They had sausage. All the others were empty. We just left. It was not that busy.

We went in at 7pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was fairly slow. We were seated right away and quickly received some chips and salsa. Unfortunately, it was all down hill from there. We looked over the menu, and all four of us decided what we were eating while waiting for our drink order to be taken. Sadly, it was a drink order that would never happen. Despite the fact that there were employees bussing tables no one seemed capable of getting us drinks. After about 10 minutes of this I decided it was time to leave and asked the hostess if we owed anything for the chips and salsa. She had no clue but flagged down a waitress helping another section who was surprised we had not been helped. As we were walking out she told a waiter that was walking by that we were in his section. He just said "I know" and continued out onto the patio to serve another table. It was the same guy who was bussing a table next to us but didn't have the time to take our drink order. Been going to Azteca for a year now and the last 3 times the food and service got progressively worse. This last time we were actually seated for close to 20 minutes and ate all our chips before we left because not ONE server stopped to ask us ANYTHING. Manny even came by about 15 minutes in telling us someone would be right there. HORRIBLE service. Mi Cerrito in Delaware is SO MUCH BETTER than Azteca on so many levels. read more

I ordered the Chile Relleno and was pleased that it was exactly the way I wanted it. Cheesy and eggy with a few seeds left in. Someone in my party pointed out the eclectic seats: chairs were painted brightly and bench backs featured scenes which ranged from mayan to what looked from afar to be the Little Mermaid. AWFUL! To start, after being seated I waited at least 10 minutes until my order was taken which by this time I not only had my drink order but my food order. Then after waiting another excessive length with no drinks our food arrives... Still not drinks so I finally have to once again request our drinks then I look down to notice I have the wrong order. When I tell the waiter 20 minutes later after my girlfriend is already finished with her food at this point the waiter tells me I "should have told him earlier" well trust me I would have but visits from this guy are few and far between. So at the LEAST I would say this was an unpleasant experience with no offers of refunding or a discount. Never again, and might I add the food was very bland when I did finally get it.. read more

The margaritas here are very strong and yummy. We had lunch special #7 and it was so good. The cheese sauce is better than most in the area. The salsa has a great kick and the rice is my favorite. Definitely going to be a repeat customer. read more

Food tasted good and the portions we're big but I think we'll go elsewhere in Powell for Mexican food. Came on a Friday evening - patio was full but half of the tables inside were available. Chips and salsa arrived quickly but our food took some time. Follow ups were slow and we waited some time for the bill. Ambiance had little to be desired. read more

Absolutely horrible service... food was good, but totally ignored.. two grand kids with us ..had to ask for silverware, waitress had her friends behind us and we were completely ignored.. owner of the place (or manager) condescending, rude and completely sealed the deal that we wlll never be back.. This place was so gross. I ordered Grubhub, and I ordered a chipotle shrimp dish. It was sweet in a way that it should not have been, and I came to realize that I think the "cream" element was mayonnaise? I don't know. Maybe the sweetness came from ketchup. Regardless, I should not have been trying to figure out where the disgusting flavor in my taco was coming from. My son got a chicken quesadilla that was so greasy he couldn't even figure out how to eat it. I wish I could have the $43 that I spent on two meals back. read more

We are huge Tex-Mex foodies. We have been going to Azteca for over 5 years and have never had a bad experience with meal or service. Manny, the owner, is great and is always ready to talk it up if he has time and hires great staff. Best chips and salsa anywhere. Not only is the food good here, but the atmosphere with the music, etc, makes it a fun place to go. We're senior citizens and despite all the noise, the crowds, the music, and all that, it was a happy place and the food was excellent. I hope they make a go of this place because its' our new place to go for Mexican food. read more

This is our main go-to Mexican joint. It is extremely consistent and reliable. It's not fancy and certainly doesn't have all the "authenticity" of maybe some more modernized places have, but this is what Americanized Mexican food is like in most places in Ohio. Again, I'm no knocking it because it is very good. I get the same thing every time, so I'm not adventurous. Their fajitas are solid. The top shelf manny texanas margarita is pricy but worth it. The changed to decor, which I liked it when it looked like a Disney cruise, but I guess they wanted a new mordern look. They went overboard on the liberty theme (what if you go to orange or olengangy). But I'll let manny handle that one. Its a Good Mexican Place. And service is consistent and good. read more

Ate here this past week. Where do I start? The chips were the high light of the meal, and they weren't that great. My burritos were soggy underneath and had an odd texture and taste. The fajitas that my wife ordered were light on the chicken and long on the vegetables. With so many choices in our immediate area, I think we will seek Mexican food elsewhere. read more

From the moment we came in everything was dirty. The bar was filthy and our table was even dirtier. The menus were almost untouchable. After we finally got our food it was mostly okay until I made the mistake of using the restroom. Half the floor was under water and it smelled like a horse stable. After that we left immediately. The most friendly, fun staff in Powell. Manny and the folks make you feel like your at Cheers - the waiters are well trained and motivated to make everyone feel welcome. Very family friendly and birthdays are a blast. If you haven't been slapped in the nose with whip cream, you haven't celebrated at Azteca. Food is good and the MannyRita will liven up your evening. Stopped by Azteca Grill for their first "all you can eat" Sunday Brunch! I have to admit I was blown away by the presentation. The artistic display of the food was unbelieveable. They had everything from Mexican Fried Rice to Huevos Racheros, made to order omelettes, belgian waffles, beef carving station, bacon, sausage, hash browns, salad bar, and much, much more! This is one of my favorite gems in town. Local, authentic, and family owned. The owners are amazing and truly know their clientele. While the name of this restaurant is obviously "Azteca" the owner's first name is Manny. We've gotten to know him over the course of time and now refer to this restaurant simply as "Manny's" we've never been questioned on what restaurant we're referring to. They're genuinely sweet to the kids and are always quick to seat us. We all typically always order the same thing and it never disappoints. Margaritas are on point and the perfect frozen consistency, which are my favorite. Sunday brunch buffet is a great way to sample the menu for a great price. If you want a fun, family friendly Mexican experience while you catch a little margarita buzz at the same time..."Mannys" is your place. read more

Great spot for some yummy Mexican food! Their lunch fajitas were so delicious and they give you SO much! Their chips and salsa is pretty good, nothing special. When you order alcohol they are going to hook it up! I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and my husband had a margarita and they were both super strong. You get what you pay for, in a good way! Cinco is our go to restaurant for Mexican. I've tried just about all the specials and I've never been disappointed. You must have a Mannyrita (Manny's Margarita) when you go.
