Great Mexican restaurant in south beach! I went in with two friends on a Sunday night and they weren't too crowded. I ordered the watermelon jalapeño marg, which was just okay imo, but I will admit I am picky with watermelon drinks. To eat, we split a chips and guacamole and I got the veggie fajitas. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The service was attentive without being too in your face. I highly recommend Azteca!
Outstanding/friendly/accomodating service 24/7, strong drinks, beautiful atmosphere (EDM/latin music) Been here a few times now and always enjoy myself! Great chips and fresh food. One thing I watch out for.. overall the salsa was 7/10 and guacamole had a salt issue (that was fixed!). The green was overly vinegary, red tasted like marinara but the pico de gallo was good... We ate the salsa but had to send back the guac, our server was so friendly and quickly brought out a less salty version and checked up on us!! So friendly and a great way to accommodate our concerns!! I think good salsas are must haves for a latin restaurant so while I love everything else... that has room for improvement.
Came here for some after dinner drinks and this place was full of life! Obsessed with the bar seating that connects inside and outside so you can sit outside and people watch and enjoy the Miami warmth or sit in the same bar inside and people watch as you have a good time. We ordered the Mezcal Negroni and Guava-Habanerox. LOVED the blend of the guava and spicy habanero. I had mine tweaked to be a bit more spicy - it was perfect! They had live music, the place was alive and what's even crazier is that they're open24 hours! So you can go from night to day or day to night quickly. Can't wait to try their food next time but for sure a great and lively spot to grab some drinks.
We enjoyed eating at this restaurant, which was just a few steps away from our hotel. Right on the south beach strip this well decorated restaurant was very visually pleasing. Please see photos below. Upon entering the restaurant, we were pleasantly greeted by the host that quickly seated us. We did have a reservation and definitely glad we made one. After being seated, the restaurant started filling up very quickly. Once the live music started, the place was packed. Our server was very friendly and he made some great recommendations. I opted for the chili rub Carne Asada steak medium rare. My husband went for the Birria tacos. We started our meal off with chips, salsa and guacamole. Being from the South West we were used to spicy Salsa. Although the salsas weren't very spicy, they had good flavor. My Carne Asada was cooked perfectly and the flavor was a touched smoky and the seasoning was absolutely delicious! My husband's Birria tacos were very good too. Delicious shredded meat inside the corn tortilla with cheese served with a consume that was delicious all on its own. The food was very good and the ambience was spectacular. From the floor to ceiling mural that stretched up the staircase to the large tree trees that overhung the booths. Everything was just perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
Really nice ambiance! Love the greenery and cherry blossom tree on the inside of the restaurant. The bar set up with the bar stools on the side street looks cool and makes for such a vibe in the evenings. Chips and guac were a hit, so were the shrimp fajitas. The azteca salad was nice and refreshing. I didn't like the carne asada personally because the meat just felt off and didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. We got a flight of tequila and I regret that because it cost 60 dollars for 3 tequila shots, soooo not worth it. My mistake I didn't see the price. All in all nice restaurant to try if you're in the area.
For all the years, or in my case decades I have been hitting up Miami I have passed by Azteca many times but had never went in. However, my most recent visit to Miami back in October I finally went. Had a Pina Colada which was fairly good, (coulda used a bit more rum though) but still enjoyed it nonetheless. The service here is pretty good and dope vibe with the heart of South Beach. A recommend if you are just walking the strip of Collins Ave or for night cap date night.

We came here for late night drinks. It looked fun from the outside with the open window bar looking inside. The decor was funky and fun. We sat at the inside bar and ordered Margaritas. There were several flavor options to choose from and I got the Passion Fruit while my partner got the 50/50. The drinks were strong and really good. Good service and vibes here!
Beautiful restaurant close to the beach. The theme is like a modern but tropical theme. They hostess were super nice and informative. Great vybes from the moment you walk in. For the food lots of options. We went with the taco trio and the birria quesadilla. The prices were well prices all within 18-26$ for those options. The taco trio, you get to pick 3 tacos, which is a great option if you want to try many kinds. The normal tacos come with 2. But all taco entree (meal) come with rice and beans with pica de gallo. The hostess did recommend any thing with birria is delicious and he was not wrong. That birria quesodilla was one of the best ones I ever had. Everything was freshly made and you can taste all the freshness. The quesodilla does come with guacamole, Pico and sour cream. I did ask for a hot salsa sauce, which was a additional 2$ but it was definitely the spicy hotsauce I was looking for, well worth it if you like spice. They did have regular hot sauce for free. Overall, waitress and everyone was so kind. Live music starts at 8 pm, great vybes, very relaxing. A place to bring your friends for a good time!
Drink: Mango Margarita was nice! Food: 3 tacos-- birria; shrimp; polpo (octopus). Ambience was nice to sit outside, though you can also sit inside as well. The servers were very friendly. I was looking at what to get in the server offered to just make something for me so I accepted. He made me a mango margarita, which was quite nice. I highly recommend sitting at the outdoor bar. My only two complaints: he didn't even ask what my flavor profile was; I actually would've preferred something smoky and sweet. The mango margarita was good, though. Other Complaint: we had been chatting, and both servers knew I was a tourist visiting in from out of town. When the bill came, it was a bit higher than expected, but I figured it was due to a tourist tax of some kind. It wasn't until the next day, when a friend informed me that gratuity is often included in Miami Beach, that I figured out why it had been so pricey. Didn't appreciate that. I understand that mistakes happen, so I'll only dock one star.
Somewhat pricy but expected from a restaurant in South Beach. I enjoyed the huevos rancheros. It was accompanied by a side of cheese and beans. The over easy eggs were cooked well. Salsa was decent and wish it had more flavor or spiciness to it.
This place is adorable inside. I loved the visuals of the art and the cherry blossom decor. Very content creator friendly. The food was all very tasty. The birria taco was my fav out of everything. The spicy chicken taco was probably my least. The staff was very friendly as well. What I did not like was the mandatory service fee randomly listed on the bill. It's not clear if it's gratuity or what. It's always awkward asking your server. I'd prefer it clearly say gratuity or "gratuity not included". It's the owners job to pay staff well enough, or just leave the normal tipping procedure. We left tip on top of this random fee but something to think about for ownership.
Pretty sceney/vibey taco joint... wouldn't say my favorite tacos in Miami by any means, but the bites were decent enough. They had live musicians and a photographer to take pictures of the guests (printouts are $20 each btw). Food came out relatively quickly but we weren't rushed which we appreciated.
Sat at bar. Been on beach all day, felt dehydrated. Quickly waited on and placed order for one Gringo taco and two fruit collins. Every was tasty and glad I stopped in. Would definitely come back and recommend to a friend. Friendly staff and great food. read more

What brought us into this establishment was the welcoming entrance and the great music, the staff were very inviting and made us feel right at home. We sat straight away at the bar and were served by Yamil and Victor. To say that they are awesome bartenders is an understatement. The venue was clean and decorated beautifully. The tacos and margs were delicious and we will definitely be back to enjoy more of what they have to offer. read more

It's so hard to find street-level quality in South Beach. I stumbled into Azteca because of the Yelp reviews and had a great breakfast (Azteca eggs, bacon, salsa, etc). A triple espresso and great service from a smiling Yessenia were exactly what we needed. ¡Gràcias! read more

Came here towards the end of happy hour and early dinner time. I ordered a watermelon jalapeño margarita off the HH menu and it was super artificial tasting. The menu says "made with fresh pressed juice" and it definitely was not. I was seated at the bar and the bartenders were just rude and provided preferential treatment to other customers, not sure why. There were 2 women seated next to me who were also really disappointed with their drinks and the service. I ended up ordering cheese enchiladas which were good, but nothing out of this world. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place solely because of their bad drinks and poor service. read more

Great cocktails and people watching, it's right on a corner facing the beach, so you get to see people walking around while you enjoy some of the great cocktails they make, and can chat with the friendly bartenders. They gave us some suggestions of places to check out in the area, and were fun to talk with about the experiences they get seeing such variety of people come through. We got some fresh guacamole, and candied plantains which were basically like a bananas foster and delicious to eat with our drinks read more

We were looking for a taco place. We passed by this place and it looked good. There was live music that night. The vibes were great and the decoration inside feels premium. The food was okayish 5/10. They charge a hefty 20% service charge. We ordered a 3 taco 3 combo tacos meal, chips & Chips & Salsa and a beer. The total came out to be $65. Not bad for the location I guess. The food can be improved in taste. But not a bad place at all. read more
Azteca is a lively, touristy spot just a block away from Ocean Drive. It's got a cool setup, with outdoor seating you can walk up to right from the sidewalk. The inside is also expansive, with live music in the dining area some evenings. Drinks were okay, nothing too impressive. We had a sangria that tasted pretty sugary, nothing especially complex. And they certainly play to their location, so expect to pay a bit more (tourist tax!). But it's not a bad option for the location and environment, if you're looking for something in this part of South Beach that isn't catering to college students. read more

We visited Azteca 2 nights in a row!!! The tacos were EVERYTHING!! The live music was a perfect Miami vibe! Each night we admired how each performer played multiple instruments. It was incredible!! The service was great..we were well taken care of. I ate fish and shrimp tacos both nights along with rice and beans. I'm definitely going to keep that as a "go to" for my next Miami trip!! The restaurant is highly decorated on floral arrangements but an 80s vibe. You can dress up or down but still feel like you're living Miami! Its beautiful! read more
I was playing eenie, meanie, miny, moe walking south beach figuring out what to grab for breakfast. I decided to cut over to Collins and something about the decor spoke to me when I was about to pass by Azteca. The menu for breakfast was good and very reasonably priced. I'm super picky and limited as to what I easy for breakfast so I was excited that they had turkey bacon. I got the home fried potatoes with it and it was perfectly seasoned, so filling and just delicious. I had a fresh ginger shot and some water to wash it down. The bartender who took my was pleasant and helpful. Id certainly go back to try lunch when on the beach. read more
Azteca South Beach offers tacos by the single or as meals, so I sampled a bit of everything. I started with the Grilled Octopus taco (fennel-apple slaw, epazote aioli, pickled fresno). The octopus was lightly charred with a good crunch, not chewy, though the slaw slightly overpowered the seafood. Next was the Al Pastor Pork Belly (braised shredded pork, fresh pineapple, cilantro, red onion). Flavor was great, but it needed more pineapple to balance the richness. The standout was the Grilled Korean Beef (slow-cooked beef ribs, guacamole, cabbage, cilantro, chipotle mayo). Perfect blend of flavors--every bite was spot on. For dessert, I tried the Homemade Key Lime Pie. A buttery cookie-crumb crust with a rich lime mousse, topped with whipped cream and shaved lime. Balanced and refreshing. Drinks are a strength here too. They specialize in tequila, and the house margaritas (I had two with mezcal) were some of the best I've had--strong, balanced, and not watered down. Service was excellent; my waiter was attentive and on point all night. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun with colorful murals, neon signs, and moody lighting--perfect for groups or a night out. My bill came to $83 for 3 tacos, pie, 2 margaritas, plus service fee. Worth every penny. Great food, even better drinks, and an unbeatable vibe. A must-visit for tacos + tequila in Miami. read more

Azteca South Beach is absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy vibrant colors, upbeat music, and the delicious aroma of authentic Mexican food that instantly makes your mouth water. The food here is on another level. Unfortunately I don't remember the name but Every dish is bursting with flavor and beautifully plated you can taste the freshness and care in every bite. The tacos are incredible, the guacamole is perfectly seasoned, and the margaritas are some of the best on the beach. This was actually my 5th time coming here, and every visit is just as perfect as the last. Whenever I travel to Miami, I make sure to stop by Azteca it's officially part of my trip routine now! The staff is always welcoming, the ambiance is lively yet relaxed, and the service is consistently top-notch. Azteca South Beach never disappoints -- easily one of my absolute favorite spots in Miami! read more

Ambiance alone is worth the dining experience, luckily the food and margaritas were excellent too. The loud decor draws you in, the sound of laughter and music and a vast menu makes you stay a little too long, good thing Azteca is open 24/7. After a lot of back and forth, questions asked answered, we decided on appetizers and entrees mixed with watermelon margaritas. The veggie salad was delicious, I know it's just a salad, but charred corn, pumpkin seeds and hearts of palm just brought it altogether. Next up, a huge veggie burrito with rice, not sure how my husband finished it but he did...packed full of roasted veggies was very filling. Clearly, I love to eat, so I ordered the lobster enchiladas with a tomatillo sauce, black beans, rice and plantains. Let's just say if plantains are on the menu I will sacrifice my meal to finish them. The lobster was perfectly seasoned and the plantains were charred, sweet and well perfect. Service was great, the music was fantastic, the wallpaper and murals were loud, it was an amazing combination. read more

Sat at the bar for happy hour. The bartender was very warm and inviting. The tacos were good, form best to worst 1. Fish Taco 2. Chicken Teriyaki 3. Ground Beef. The drinks was just okay. The bar area was very pretty and had nice views of Collins ave. read more

My friend and I had walked by Wednesday night and it looked like a happening place. We already had plans so we stopped in on Thursday morning after yoga at the beach. The bartender Shaquille was the only person managing everything from greeting people, making drinks, and taking our order. The menu had a good selection of breakfast options and we decided to both go with the Smoked Salmon Omelette. It came with a small mixed greens salad and bread. They didn't offer gluten free bread so I declined to have any bread. Then my friend said she would take my slice but when her meal arrived, she didn't get my extra bread. It ended up being for the best because she was full with what she had. We also had Passion Fruit Mimosas which were delicious. Then I had two Espresso Martinis. They were made with fresh espresso so how could I resist? The food and drinks were on point. The breakfast was just the right size. Shaquille checked in from time to time because we made friends with someone at the bar and he refilled my water to keep my hydrated. He gave us some good recommendations for my visit that I actually followed and very much enjoyed. All of the staff at Azteca were friendly. The place is beautifully decorated and inviting. The missing second slice of bread was not a big deal. I would definitely come back. read more

We went into Azteca on a Saturday night. While we did not have a reservation, we were greeted right when we stepped through the door and given the option to sit at a table or the bar. We picked a table which was close to some live music going on. It was just enough that it the music could play and you could still hold a conversation. The fish taco was good. They definitely did not skip on the fish! The skirt steak with black beans and Mexican rice was seasoned well. The meat was cooked medium, per my choosing, and was still tender. It is such a fun atmosphere and I really felt like the staff was a team. We had three people check in on us through out stay. Each visit was spaced out well and we never felt rushed or bothered. read more

This place was so cute and enjoyable. The service was friendly and helpful as well. Food was really good and probably some of the best Mexican I've found in Miami so far. The food AMAZING, The atmosphere AMAZING, The service AMAZING!!! As you can tell I had an amazing dinner. The live band entertained us as I had some of the most flavorful tacos. That short rib taco is chef kiss. The servers were amazing as well. Very attentive and fast to respond. If you are ever in Miami's South beach check out this spot. read more

We loved Azteca! We were waiting for our table at Sola and near by was Azteca. The bar was right on the corner and you could just have a seat right there at the bar! The drinks were phenomenal! Very instagram forward for photos. Just a beautiful bar/restaurant. read more
