This was my first and last time visiting Aztek Tacos. I went in for takeout. I went in specifically because they were one of the only places I could find with tortilla soup. At every Mexican taqueria I have visited and gotten soup, the chicken was shredded and part of the soup. The chicken in this soup had cubed grilled chicken and large chunks of bell pepper. It was not bad but definitely not the best. The service was ok, definitely not done with a smile. What made me even more convinced to not return is that I paid $19 for a cup of soup. It did not occur to me to ask how many ounces I would receive. This was not worth the money at all, and the portion size was ridiculous compared to what I paid.

Authentic Mexican food! They make their own tortillas and it's fun to watch as they roll them out and warm them on the flat grill. Their salsas are fresh and authentic, at least I think so! My most favorite thing from here is their beef rolled tacos, which are three oversized taquitos stuffed with shredded beef and deep fried to a perfect crispness, smothered in shredded lettuce, white cheese, and topped with their homemade guacamole (I pass on the sour cream and ask for extra guacamole). Several years ago they added on a bar area with additional seating. That's a nice option for eat in and to enjoy a beer or cocktail. Good food, good service, comfy dine in and also a small patio area.

Get the Aztek Burrito you will not be disappointed! Big enough to share with chips and guacamole.

Great tasting tacos! Handmade tortillas, salsa bar and deliciously marinated carne! This place and Los Tacos fight for the top spot in this area in my opinion! If you're in the area it's worth checking out if you're craving a taste of good Mexican tacos! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Wednesday, 12-17-2024: We came here as a party of five (our grandson with his mom & dad and us, Papa & Yaya) after our grandson's recital. It wasn't too crowded when we entered so I made sure to secure a table ASAP. It's a good thing I did because we had beat the crowd. The eatery is on the small side but it's very clean and the exposed ducting gives it an industrial feel. Our food came out quickly and we found everything to be so flavorful! My Chile Relleno was made well and I savored it! Their chips were very good and we enjoyed the variety of salsas from their salsa bar. The staff were very nice and friendly. We really enjoy their food and have been here in the past. I can't believe I didn't write a review before. This post is definitely overdue!

First time coming to this place. Everyone was very nice and helpful ! We sat outside to enjoy the sun, they even brought our food to us.

Nasty Al pastor tacos with gross fatty meat $5

The meat of the al pastor is not good quality. It is very hard and was tough to eat. We left most of the meat since it was nasty. Their al Pastor tacos ARE NOT roasted on a spit with pineapple. The only good thing here for us was the rice, beans, hand made tortillas and salsas. We won't be back

This was a great find...we got the referral from the NextDoor app and made a note that we'd definitely check it out when on that side of town. And we are so glad we did! I had the rolled tacos = very thick and meaty. Hubby had the two-taco plate which looked amazing and he said was really good. Nice selections at the salsa bar. The strange thing to me was how they rang up a large soda...$3.88 PLUS $.76 to "size up"; I wondered why they didn't just charge us $4.64 for the Large in the first place. But it was delish and enjoyable. We will be back!

Order what was told a medium size bowl of Albondigas and side of chips was over $18. When I grabbed my bag I was like this is small for what I paid. This "medium" bowl had 3 meatballs, 3 large sliced carrots and a potato wedge! I got more chips than soup! So disappointing when all I wanted on this rainy day was soup.

Solid tacos, you can't beat fresh tortillas. It can get a bit crowded but it is worth the wait.

The employee took my name and phone number and confirmed the reservation. My family and I drove an hour to get there, only to be told upon arrival that there was no reservation under my name. We were a party of 8, and as someone who is pregnant, hungry, and celebrating a special occasion, this was incredibly frustrating and upsetting. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. The host simply dismissed us instead of showing any concern or attempting to find a solution. We were also told there was no manager available to speak with. Mistakes happen, but customer service is measured by how those mistakes are handled, and unfortunately this experience fell far below expectations. After planning ahead, making a reservation days in advance, and driving an hour for my birthday celebration, I expected much better communication and customer care. Instead, we were left feeling inconvenienced, disappointed, and unvalued as customers. Sadly, this experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration.

The waitress stated that they can't substitute? I'm not substituting anything. Just don't add it. The "manager" came over and said we can't substitute? I stated I'm not substituting anything, just don't want cheese or sour cream. He said since they're busy cause of cinco de mayo they can't do it which tells me they can't handle a large amount of customers and there food they make in the back there cooks are auto pilot and get devate from the normal operation. We have been here before and "NEVER" had a problem with the way we ordered but today was an issue which tells me things are difficult especially if busy. We will not be back cause it was just a simple request and they couldn't fulfill that. We went over to Rosa's and tortilla factory which is down the street and it was good and "much cheaper ". I will never recommend Guadalajara to anyone anymore cause they couldn't handle a simple request.

With that being said, parking can be difficult because Old Town tends to get very busy on a Saturday. We walked in and it was not busy. The host/server told us to pick any table we would like. We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

There was no wait, and we were seated right away in the dine-in area. Our server brought chips and salsa to the table. The problem was that after that, we never saw our server again. We finished the chips and our water and waited about 24 minutes without anyone checking on us. Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us were already getting their food while we still hadn't even placed our order. We eventually asked another gentleman if he could help us find our server, and he ended up taking our order himself. After that, everything went fine. Food-wise, I ordered a California burrito wet with red sauce. Personally, the red sauce just wasn't for me, the appearance wasn't what I thought so I only had a couple bites and took the rest home. My wife really enjoyed her quesadilla though. Overall, I'd still give this place another chance because I really liked the atmosphere and environment.
