After an 8 1/2-hour drive from La Push to Coos Bay, this place was exactly what we needed. We stopped at this restaurant right off US-101, just 30 minutes before reaching Coos Bay--no detour at all. Delicious comfort food, ice-cold Mexican beers, and outstanding service. Elvia was amazing--so kind and welcoming, even 45 minutes before closing on a Monday night. We loved everything: enchiladas, tacos, burritos, chips, salsa, guacamole, and nieve frita for dessert. My daughter was craving fried eggs, and Elvia happily fulfilled her request, even adding special rice and beans. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back one day. read more

I have no idea what the inside, ambiance, or service is like, but my "to go" experience was horrible. We each had an order of fajitas, and they got the meat right, but that was about it. We ordered the sour cream, and guacamole not only on the side, but separate too. We got it pretty much in the middle of our rice and beans plate. No lettuce, tomato, or cheese like every fajita I have had. The chips were not fresh, and since we got a very small amount, even though we paid for extras, I guess it worked out. Lastly, while assembling our fajitas, we found multiple hairs in mine! Needless to say, our appetites were instantly gone. Gross!! We will NEVER eat there again. It's sad when you spend almost $60 on a meal you can't eat. read more

Wide variety of choices. Festive interior. The food was bland, bland, bland. It lacked the basics...salt or any other spices. Ground beef was wet and gray. Rice was oily. Chimichanga was wet inside and they used a much larger tortilla than needed...there was so much tortilla folded inside. Sopito was good, but was topped with the gray/wet beef. Guacamole was not seasoned. Beans had were soupy and, you guessed it, bland. The portions were huge so we walked away with full bellies but ZERO "satisfaction". Lastly, the older gentleman serving us had the personality/demeanor of Lurch from the Adams Family. He spoke in a monotone, did not greet us, never smiled, and was that way with all the customers. You lost 1pt for the food, 1pt for our waiter, and 1pt for in general being disappointing. Your Mexican couldn't have tasted any more Caucasian. read more

A great Mexican food Restaurant. Whenever I have friends and family visit from out of the areaI always take them there.

After not eating in a restaurant for over a YEAR, and having only recently moved to the area, the missus and I made out BIG TIME with this lovely place. We were the only diners when we visited, so we were quickly seated and served drinks, and shortly after given a basket of possibly the best chips we've ever had. Light and crispy, served with salsa very much worthy of the dipping. Next came our plates. We each opted for cheese enchiladas and a taco and OMG, as today's youth say, they were excellent. I had to try very hard not to just shovel it into my mouth as fast as I could to keep that tasty train rollin'. A terrific meal made and served with ready smiles. Do please give Aztlan a try. The staff obviously work VERY hard, and these lean times demand that we show our appreciation and our patronage as often as we can. read more

Yummy drinks, authentic salsa and tasty fajitas. We went for lunch on. Saturday, was fairly empty.

Our family has been coming here for the last 15 years every time we come to the dunes. Elvia and her son work so hard to provide excellent food and service every time. You have to try the massive Margaritas at least once. The Polla La Crema is always a favorite. Great decor and plenty of room for large groups. This is a family owned business in a small town. Stopped here a couple of weeks ago while heading back to the coast. The salsa and service were good. Being a long time chilli-head I asked for hotter salsa and they didn't have any. I did ask for my diablo dish to be extra spicy and the responded by drenching is with chills oil and pepper flakes. I ordered takeout dinner from Aztlan while traveling for business. The food was ready and hot when I arrived to pick it up and the gentleman who helped me was very friendly. The food was very good and still hot when I got it back to my hotel. The portions were good size...more than I could eat! The chips were hot and delicious, and definitely not just pulled out of a bag. Special kudos to the gentleman who helped me because I forgot my debit card there, and he remembered what hotel I was staying in and delivered my card to the hotel office!! I'm so thankful he did this because I am back on the road early tomorrow morning and definitely would NOT have been able to wait for them to open up for business to pick it up. I will definitely eat here again in the future and hope my fellow got every cent of the tip I left for him because he went above and beyond!! read more

This food was really good. It wasn't greasy, which is what you get with a lot of other Mexican food. The portions are huge. Also, if you want sour cream or guac, they don't charge extra for it! Huge fan. I've had the chile verde(pork) and the Pollo a la cazuela(chicken). Both had perfectly moist meats. I figured they would be dry because they are covered in delicious green tomatillo sauce. Did I mention the meat wasn't dried out even after a takeout order? I went back to try their signature dish.. Arroz con pollo. The peppers and onions have snap. Enough spice that's its not hot. Coming from Texas, this was the first place in town we tried for Mexican. We usually judge a restaurant on salsa and guacamole and this place proved the theory. Great salsa met us at the table. We all ordered combination plates, and we were not disappointed. The taco meat HS good flavor, and the chili rellano was great. Our picky eater ordered Nacjos with only meat and cheese and they came out perfect. The service was great and we would return again if not just passing thru. Good stuff read more

I visited this restaurant a few days ago early in the morning when I was backpacking through the area and they were just opening up. The person who seats you and takes your order is very social and pleasant to talk to. I order a simple mexican dish and got it at a very good speed. Not only was all of my food including chips, very delicious but it came in very good amounts. In other words, if you're hungry and want lots of food that tastes really good. This is the place. The interior of the restaurant along with the seating was great as well. They also have a poster of "the most interesting man in the world" inside of the restaurant. So this place will definitely get 5 stars from me. read more

Excellent! I had a Chili Verde tostada that was fresh and spicy - just the way I like it. My husband had Enchiladas Suizas and loved it!! They serve 2 salsas - one mild & one just right, with chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro and chilies - with their chips. Excellent food and service on a rainy day! read more
