I'm continuing and updating my review. The person who responded to my negative review is not honest. They were the Only company called that day and I provided a code to get into our building. The water was cut off shortly after they arrived and a neighbor saw the plumber do it. The water shut off valve is directly across from the address on the property and it's right there in the open any plumber can find lots They don't want to take responsibility at all because they're liable! Not only did they cut it off they didn't cut it back in and left and never follower up with me for the original service they came for which is very telling. Again, I would not trust them if they would have just done the right thing in the first place they would hot have gotten a negative review. Believe me I have better things to do but this company treated us terrible and did not take any responsibility in their actions I would not use them again and any capacity nor recommend them based on this poor response. Next time train your plumbers better they shut down the water and left the site! Period.. read more

I will start and end this review with 2 words... complete incompetence... On Thanksgiving evening my washing machine decided to keep running water after the cycle completed. I live in a condo where I have stacked washer/dryer in a closet. The water shut off valve is behind the unit and accessible only when the top unit is removed. Luckily the water eventually stopped running, because my unit would have been flooded before they got here on an "emergency call". I explicitly explained to Harry, that the running water was from INSIDE the unit, not an external pipe. I learned later that because the water was from inside the unit, the washer repair company was needed; not a plumber. Harry sent two people with this full understanding and knowledge. Two guys came (as I told them the unit would need to be removed to access the shut off) and removed the unit. Staring straight at the shut off valve, they tried to convince me that it was a mixer (hot/ cold adjustments) and that there was no in unit shut off. They sent a picture to another plumber named Harry who had to tell them it was a shut off valve. Then they claimed that is was stuck and left with the dryer in an exposed area of a covered patio and the water valve unchanged (still on)! Of course it rained... When they sent the picture to Harry, he was insistent that the shut off valve needed to be replaced. Before they came, I called Harry, who popped a fuse at some simple questions. Warning: do not ask Harry any questions unless you like being disrespected and reviled. He also said he wouldn't replace the valve that he insisted needed changing! They were scheduled to come back a couple of days later, after the washing repair person came and fixed the unit. He had NO problems with the valve as it turned on and off with ease (it was NOT stuck). I requested that when they send someone back, to please send someone who knew the difference between a shut-off valve and a mixer. Apparently they were offended by this ask and 2 hours into waiting for their arrival (4 hr window), they cancelled the appointment, and refused to show.. Oh, almost forgot..the lady in the office claimed they didn't charge me a holiday rate, but when I anonymously called for an hourly rate, it was apparent they did. Two words: complete incompetence! read more

My work get's prioritized appropriately, with emergency response as quick as possible and scheduled work within a reasonable time frame. Their plumbers show up on time, are neat and clean and make sure they solve my plumbing problem. Should by chance a problem not get solved the first time, they're back rapidly to make things right. Quote ($2,000) they gave us AFTER seeing the job was 1/5th of the actual bill ($10,000+) we received after the job was done, even though our house was stripped down to the studs during a remodel where there was no surprise they could find during the job. Complete rip-off and shady business. By the way, if you spend some time comparing prices they charge by the hour, you will quickly realize that they are overpriced. I had an extremely professional and pleasant experience this morning thanks to B&B, I live in a condominium in Sherman Oaks, 3 floors, which means problems are either individual, stack shared (107, 207, 307} or association paid. The gentlemen showed up exactly as scheduled, diagnosed the problem immediately and had it fixed in 30 minutes, it was a severe clog in an elbow joint in the garage area. They arranged to have the cars that might become a little wet moved out of the way, and did everything with a smile on their faces and great attitude all around. B&B has done many projects on my two properties but the largest was adding a bathroom into a renovation. They ran all the rough plumbing and walked me through the inspections. Passed first try. They then did all the finish plumbing and it turned out great. Other projects include tying into my main sewer line, adding plumbing for new washer dryer and rubbing a new gas line from the main into my house. The owner of this company is an immature unprofessional little man. During an interaction with this man child I was speaking normally and respectfully, when he proceeded to yell obscenities at me. When I asked him what I had done wrong and why he was throwing a tantrum. He told me to, "shove it up my a**". This began simply because we had been discussing a diagnosis and estimate. This really goes to show the kind of person that runs this business. I can only imagine the work ethics associated with a man that lacks any kind of maturity at such a mature age. When I am dealing with a supposed business professional, I except them to at least have the capability of handling themselves with at least a little bit of decency. Or, I expect a business owner to have at least a little bit a maturity, especially when handling business. Maybe your owner needs to take some anger management classes and possibly take a course or two on customer service. Save yourselves the negativity and avoid this business. read more

Workers were nice, but didn't say what they were going to do directly, they told someone on a walkie talkie/cell phone device, then that person called us and spoke to us over the phone while in front of them. They did not complete an install of the faucet we requested, they left the pop up (portion of the faucet that prevents sink from draining) The faucet says Delta, the popper says Price Pfister... When we questioned the company, (they said the "head plumber" would get back to us.....2 weeks later we called back again) they stated that the item was not in the box. That would have been nice to know during the installation instead of (when we finally heard from them) later. This "missing item" was also not listed on the invoice as missing. Instead charged for full installation of the item. If the missing item was discussed during installation, then we would have been able to replace the entire faucet. Now we have an incomplete guest bathroom. Not happy. Would not recommend. If you say you are going to do something (like call back) then do it! Wheres the customer service? read more

B & B plumbing was used by the HOA to fix the leak from the neighbors hot water heater. I had hot water leaking under the walls, the bar and under the kitchen sink from underground. They jackhammered the slab in my condo! I had big chunks of cement & pebble size on the placemats and bar stools. There was cement dust everywhere! On the books, bookcases, photos, walls. This all needs to be taken down and out to be cleaned. They do not contain the mess they make and they don't have a cleaning service so you can have a clean house when they are done. The cement they put in the trench they dug out was full of large gravel. It was not even and the floor tiles wouldn't lay flat on it. It had to be ground down. I would never let them work in my house again unless I can supervise everything they do. I'm worried their job was a work around the original plumbing and will it work? I will never call them and don't recommend them! When I can put my furniture back in place I will give them negative stars... I can't post this without giving them 1 start that they don't deserve... read more

Phoned on a Friday and they were able to schedule me on Monday to install a sink. Showed up first thing Monday morning to install sink and over the week end I purchased a replacement toilet as well. Asked if they could install toilet while they were here and no problem! Installed toilet in short order and now sink and toilet are working great. When I received the bill it actually was less than what I had anticipated paying! Quick, easy to schedule, in and out in short order all for less than I expected! Nice job! I can't say enough good things about my experience with B & B Plumbing. They recently serviced a new home my husband and I purchased. Two men came and inspected all the plumbing in our house, and they were extremely thorough. They found mold in a toilet that had been overlooked during our home inspection, and quickly replaced the toilet. I am so thankful for their thoroughness, and the swiftness with which they replaced and fixed everything that needed to be repaired in the house. In my opinion, B&B Plumbing (Van Nuys) is a huge RIP-OFF. I called in and spoke with the owner, Harry. I told him that I needed a new toilet installed (I had supplied the new toilet with all the needed parts), another toilet moved, and that I had a leak under my bathroom sink. He told me that is was a simple job and that I would be shocked at his low price and that it would cost less than me hiring a handyman. He went as far as to say that the toilets were a 15 minute job and even joked that I didn't need to pay the bill if I was not satisfied - this was a lie. A huge commercial truck showed up with 2 men. It took them 4 hours to repair a simple clogged pipe that was about 5 feet long and to replace toilets. I did not ask for 2 men and was not told that 2 men were coming. I received a bill for $749.29. I was grossly overcharged and could not believe that it took 2 licensed plumbers up to 4 hours to locate and fix a simple problem in an isolated area. They kept doing the same thing over and over again, and only after a few hours did they realize the problem was in a connecting pipe. In my opinion, this was a one man job and could have been easily completed by a competent handyman in an hour or so, and I was charged for 2 plumbers for 4 hours who obviously did not know what to look for when the problem was right in front of them. I wrote a letter to the owner complaining about the excessive charges asking him to accept a lesser payment, and was told by someone in billing (I'm guessing) that the they would not reduce the charges and that I needed to pay the entire bill. Again, in my opinion, B & B Plumbing is a RIP-OFF, and I will never use them again because of their outrageous prices, incompetence, and for their dishonesty in telling me that my cost would be less than me hiring a handyman. This was far from the case - the cost turned out to be much, much more than any handyman would have ever charged - and much more than any other one plumber would have charged. read more
