Total hidden gem. Even though it's close by, I never went until coming here with my pickleball team and now I'm wondering why it took so long. The grilled grouper fish tacos were excellent. We were a group of twelve at a busy lunch hour, and the service was still fast and efficient. The outdoor patio was a bonus, tucked away from traffic and very pleasant. This place is a hidden gem in Milton/Crabapple. One rainy night my mom and I were looking for a spot to eat by her house and found this place and it was so cozy and the foot was incredible. The prices are unbeatable! I had the chicken wrap and it was delicious! The dirty martini was great as well. Our server was Nathalie and she was so very sweet and quick! My dad drove dow from Memphis yesterday so we had dinner at the crabapple tavern. We were seated immediately a young man came over to our table, marked it and got our drinks. Our food was so outrageously good and hot and exactly what we asked for! We both got the fish and chips which is really really hard to beat at the Crabapple Tavern it's so great. Our service name was Scott Manischevitz () He was an old soul! We had the most exhilarating conversation with him after dinner because he just happened to mention that he was from Memphis and we went all in on this kid and he was such a great guy. He told us how great his parents were and what a great upbringing he had. Don't you hope your kids are out there saying that about you? First time here. Great place for American style food. I shared the Chicken Paillard Salad with my mom and the portion size was perfect. The service was great! Our waiter was nice and helpful. Ambience wise: great for families as there is plenty of seating areas and booths but also great for sports fans as the bar area is surrounded by TVs. This is a great all American restaurant. It's great if you want to go out to eat but don't want to get all fancy. It's nice and roomy. Very clean. The service was amazing here. We got the beer cheese and pretzel bites. I'd say that's the best in the area that I've had (I've had a lot). My husband got the fish and chips and I got the buffalo chicken wrap. Both were good. It was very nice. I was there for lunch with six women. The restaurant was very busy, but the waitress did well attending to us. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I had the Cobb salad. It was fresh and delicious. I took half home, because it was so large. Two of my friends had the ahi tuna salad and they said they would order it again the next time they came. One woman asked that her tuna be cooked to medium and they accommodated her unusual request. All in all, it's a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. We will be going back. read more

I recently ordered a Reuben sandwich which was probably the worst Reuben I have ever had at any restaurant. They used pressed corned beef which was layered, not shredded, with very little cabbage and only a plain Mayo, NO typical Reuben sauce. In addition , it was served cold and cheese was not melted. First, the host (who I suspect was also the owner, but I didn't ask) was so welcoming and pleasant! We waltzed in on a Saturday afternoon and were quickly seated indoors. The patio, however, looked spacious and lovely, too. We began with a garlic hummus appetizer, which came with carrots, celery and pita bread. It was very refreshing on a hot July day. I chose the candied pecan blackened chicken salad (hold the goat cheese) - very good! My boyfriend opted for the chicken pot pie - note: it came baked with green beans, not green peas, and he still ate every morsel! We came here during a weekday for dinner and got seated on the patio right away. The patio is large with plenty of seating and our waitress, Brit, was fantastic!! She had great recommendations and came by with many water refills on this hot summer day. The food was so good!! It greatly exceeded my expectations!! I ordered the Trout (grilled) with corn risotto and green beans. It was cooked perfectly! The green beans were even seasoned well. Everyone at our table also enjoyed their meals! I thought this was a great neighborhood bar. I would definitely return.  It's everything you want in a neighborhood hangout place. Very friendly server and bartender, very good food, and great atmosphere.  The outside was a little deceiving. I did not expect it to be as nice as it was on the inside. It was very clean and inviting and just had a great local bar atmosphere. So many bars just have a little dirty vibe in there or overly upscale to feel like a place you'd want to hang out. Excellent balance of the two here.  I came here for lunch with a friend and we both really enjoyed the food. The great thing is it is reasonably priced as well. To get a great sandwich and fries for $10 is a good deal. I had the Reuben sandwich. They had some very thinly sliced corned beef and gave a generous portion. It was very tender. Sometimes if it's not steemed right, it can be tough to bite through or it rips all the meat out. You know what I am saying, but this pastrami was perfectly tender and flavorful. I think the 1000 island was unique as well. It had a slight mustardy flavor in there and I just loved it. It added a unique flare that would make me want to order again. Lastly, the french fries were good. I liked them but only a slight suggestion would maybe be some seasoning on there. That's the last missing link to a 5 star food across the board.  So the only real negative I have to say was it took around 8 minutes once we walked in the door to be sat. Multiple servers and the bartender all saw us standing there. Eventually, I saw someone go into a closet or office and tell someone we were waiting because a lady came straight out and sat us. They obviously went to do something and hadn't checked back at the front door and didn't offer an apology. Just a note because we didn't care too much. We stood in the doorway and talked for a while.  Once we did get sat, we loved our server. The young lady was excellent, very attentive, and made a great suggestion on a lunch item for my partner.  Overall, I just think it's a great neighborhood tavern to hang out at. 15 minutes away from my house and I pass all sorts of other bars, but I can see it being worth the drive past those to hang out here. read more

For a few days, I have waited for a few moments to write about a beautiful 'find' we made, when we picked Crabapple Tavern to visit for the first time. On February 8th, four of us set out to find a good salad. We walked into a friendly atmosphere in Crabapple Tavern. There were quite a few people in the bar area having a great time in laughter and conversation. Taylor, our beautiful server was excellent and attentive, and friendly. Two of us had the Deep South Salad. One of us had the Cobb Salad, and one had the Fish and Chips. I had the Deep South Salad. We agreed that it was excellent. We had fresh chicken on our Deep South. The salad was perfect. My wife ordered the Cobb Salad but asked to hold the blackened chicken. Taylor suggested putting the blackened chicken on a side plate so that I could enjoy it. I was so thankful. The blackened chicken was so good! My wife loved the Cobb Salad. I was drinking a lot of water. We had just had a hard workout at the gym and I was thirsty. Taylor never allowed my glass to go empty. She must have filled it four times. The Fish and Chips that were ordered by one in our party looked so good. That would have been one of my choices but I am eating salads right now. We are going back very soon. The reason we are going back would be for the excellent food but most definitely because of the service we received from Taylor. I can truthfully say that we haven't had this excellent service from any restaurant. They have set the standard. We'll be back, definitely. read more

Bad service. Been here a few times and each time it gets worse and worse. Tried to give them multiple tries hoping it was just a one off. The menu has a decent variety. Foodwas good bar food. But, not worth the hassle for the slow wait times. Over multiple visits it cannot be just the one time slow kitchen bad luck. On one visit Waiter Alejandro was terrible. He could not give reasons why the food took 45 minutes for a couple of burgers. On another visit Bartender was pretty rude. Yelling at kids and getting what looked like her cult of regulars to partake. It could be the average age of the crowd is about 65+ and anyone under that gets terrible service to keep the crowd as is. Would not go back. Been burned twice really bad and had less then average the other times. read more

I have a lot of friends who love Crabapple Tavern - great drinks, servers are always nice & they always do a good job. Sorry to say there is not a great menu if you have Celiac Disease and / or cannot or prefer not to have gluten. Many surrounding restaurants offer at least 3-5 GF options for their customers and CT does not. I have asked nicely on several occasions & there has never been a change. Will still continue to go because it's an upbeat & fun place to spend time with friends but sure would be nice to have some options for dinner. If you have Celiac Disease like me, this is not an option for you outside "we have salads" which we all know means sorry lady your SOL.... So whether you have CD or just choose to eliminate gluten from your diet - think of having dinner somewhere else. read more

Went today after church. It was very busy and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table but it was so worth it. Service was prompt and attentive. I would give this 5 stars but the two appetizers we tried weren't quite up to par with their entrees and desserts. We came for Roswell Restaurant Week and were not disappointed! My boyfriend and I opted for the restaurant week menu because you really need to! It was $25 for an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. This was seriously a good deal!! Inside is dim and has a bar in the front area. There are several rooms with a good crowd hanging out. First course: I began with fried oysters and my boyfriend had the pork belly. The oysters were kinda chewy and had more crunchy breading than soft oyster. The remoulade (or what I think was remoulade) tasted fantastic though. A tiny bit spicy but perfectly tangy. The pork belly was also not my favorite, it wasn't juicy or melt in your mouth soft like the pork belly I'm used to eating. These pieces were huge but kinda hard, like hard enough that I didn't want them to hit the roof of my mouth. Not the best start but the meal wasnt ruined by it. Second course: this is where it got interesting. Who cares what everything else tasted like because the entrees were THAT good! My boyfriend ordered the braised beef and I had the Mahi. Do it. Just do it. The beef was SO GOOD. It was something you really wanted to inhale. Super flavorful, nothing wrong about it. My mouth is drooling just thinking about it again. The mahi was flaky and white and covered in this garlic cream sauce that they smothered the sauteed spinach in. This spinach. Seriously, I could've eaten the spinach by itself! The mahi also came with two cheesy grit cakes that were totally different but worth eating and the beef also came with squash that was mashed and mild in flavor but not a bad taste. Plus we had leftovers! Third course: I ordered lemon bar cheesecake and he had caramel creme de pot ... Basically caramel mousse. Ummm both were amazing! This caramel concoction was so sweet that we had to eat it until we hurt. We saved the cheesecake for our tomorrow selves to remind them that we love them. Overall, Crabapple Tavern is definitely worth trying out , just maybe stick to your entree and dessert? read more
