However, every time my mother and I have gone, the food has been really good. The service is consistently spotty, typically chaotic and unorganized but, they seem to get it together while we are there. I think we only waited for a while for someone to come wait on us twice. This last time however was so bad. The Bad: We just went again two weeks ago and had the worst food I've ever had there. Other than the biscuits, which I usually don't even eat. But this day they were wonderfully light, buttery, and fresh. I got the pick two and chose shrimp scampi and Walt's shrimp. The Walt's shrimp was very good but the scampi was horrendous! The shrimp were ridiculously small; basically rolled out baby gulf shrimp. My mom had the shrimp al 'fredo which is usually her favorite. This day it had no taste at all. It didn't even taste like pasta and butter. I also ordered one of the new flights. I was quite excited about it but it took forever to come to and when it did, it was very sloppy, the drinks had very little ice, and were really bad. I couldn't drink them; ended up sending them back. The Ugly: The server was very apologetic which we kept telling her was not necessary; it wasn't her fault. She also ended up sharing that no one was in the back cooking; none of the cooks showed up that day. She was a very nice young lady and she offered free dessert but we kindly declined. She bought it anyway LOL. She said she told the manager but the manager never once tried to come over and check on us. I was not happy about that; she could have stopped by and offered her apologies. That I thought was ugly. The conclusion: Overall, as I told the server, it was pretty heinous our experience that day, but, it wasn't going to keep us from coming again.

They didn't make reservation we went there when they first open. So they set up the table for us. Our waitress name Cheryl was great. She recommend what dishes and other stuff they have. We didn't order appetizer we just order per person. The foods came pretty fast. It was very tasty and i say the staff and service was great. I would most likely come back here again when i am in Fredericksburg. Thank you for everything.

For a steakhouse, the prices are relatively reasonable but by nature it is a bit more expensive than average. The service has been consistently excellent and the staff are friendly. There is a nice bar and some seating in the bar area as well. In the cooler weather the bar area seating enjoys a well placed fireplace. I recommend the double black diamond martini. The steaks, chicken and salmon dishes I have had I enjoyed. I think the NY strip is my favorite and I like to get the port mushrooms and a baked potato as the sides. I tried the Tomahawk pork chop recently and it was delicious and a generous amount of food. Most steak places also know how to properly cook fish and the Salmon is always very good here. The three course meal deal is a good value if you are hungry and the dessert is a full size. My one complaint is that the last two visits, the air conditioning did not seem to be working properly and the restaurant seemed a bit uncomfortable. Please fix your HVAC!

The chicken with balsamic and roasted tomatoes was super as well! There were a few more items at my table like the chili and the seabass which I didn't get photos of, but tried and enjoyed. Our initial welcome was uninviting, with both the hostess and what appeared to be the manager were less than friendly. There was clear confusion about seating despite the restaurant being fairly empty. We were first placed near the restroom, then moved to a table directly in front of the entrance where it was cold, even though better tables were available. Service Fortunately, our server, Marianne (who was also bartending that evening), was excellent, friendly, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. She helped improve an otherwise disappointing start to the evening. She saved this from being a completely negative review. Food The food did not meet expectations. The Imperial Dip was overcooked and stuck to the bowl, the mahi mahi was overcooked and small in portion, and while my steak and lobster were cooked properly, the dish lacked flavor and I relied on salt and pepper for flavor. However, the warm butter heater for the lobster was a nice touch. The fish and chips and macaroni and cheese for our kids were also just ok. Value With a nearly $180 bill (including a few drinks), the overall experience felt disappointing for the price. Final Thoughts I might consider returning, but only with hopes for a much friendlier welcome, the same great server and service, and sticking to safer menu options. For the price point, there may be better dining options available downtown.

We were seated in a comfortable booth right away, but waited several minutes before our server arrived. That aside, the rest of our experience was great. We had the Bang Bang shrimp appetizer, which was on special that Wednesday and each had side salads. Both the Caesar and House side salads were of good proportion, fresh, and tasty. A hot loaf of fresh bread, along with the pesto, was an excellent accompaniment. The shrimp appetizer was plenty for two people. It was cooked to perfection, supplemented with a delicious bang bang sauce, with just the right amount of spice. Overall, an excellent evening meal, satisfying our appetite, even without a main. The ambiance was nice and quiet, too.

Unfortunately, his overall appearance was quite disheveled, which did not make a particularly good first impression. After waiting a few minutes, I was warmly greeted by Jasmine B. I ordered a 9-ounce glass of Blackberry Sangria, the Toscana Filet and Shrimp, and, for dessert, a John Cole. The pasta was served hot; however, both the meat and shrimp were only lukewarm. The John Cole, consisting of ice cream and cake, had already melted by the time it reached my table. While I cannot say for certain, the temperature of the food may have been related to the workload Jasmine was handling. Jasmine was serving a large party of ten, several other tables in the booths, guests seated on the outside patio, and she was also responsible for the bar. That is an enormous amount of responsibility for one server. Despite being stretched in so many directions, Jasmine handled everything professionally and remained attentive and courteous throughout my meal. She certainly deserves credit for doing an excellent job under very demanding circumstances. There was, however, another issue that should not be overlooked: the menu itself had food particles on it. Menus should be clean and presentable, particularly in a restaurant where guests are preparing to dine. Overall, while Jasmine provided professional and attentive service under difficult circumstances, the lukewarm food, melted dessert, and unclean menu detracted considerably from the dining experience.
