Waited 20 minutes for drinks and 45 minutes for food. The food was mid. But the waiter was nice.

Just not good. The restaurant had a strange smell and our server kept complaining about it being a difficult day. The caesar was terrible - the dressing was served on the side and tasted jarred. And the biscuits which are usually this restaurant's saving grace and signature item were gummy and undercooked. Fish and chips were just meh. Service was slow as well. We won't return. read more

7 of us went here today to eat and it was not busy so we had no problem getting seated. The staff took our order quickly and served our drinks. The inside was quiet and music playing lightly. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a side of bacon Mac and cheese. Once we ordered though the service slowed down dramatically. The burger was not that good I would not recommend it. I should be doing a million other things, but I had to make writing this review a priority to let the Red Lobster franchise owner and others know about our horrible experience. I had ordered a family meal and an additional appetizer (for pick-up). I placed our order in the Red Lobster app for pickup later in the evening as we wanted to have a special dinner with our family. Our scheduled time was 6:30 pm. My husband goes into the Red Lobster, the hostess was sitting in the lobby, laughing and playing on her phone. My husband arrived to the bar area at 6:26, a few minutes prior to the scheduled time. He didn't receive our food until 6:45. There was literally nobody at the bar area except one person: Max. Max finally greeted my husband, after 11 minutes, and got his food. He handed it over to him in the big paper brown bags that RL uses for to-go orders. My husband looked in the bag because the outside was wet and soaked. Max had given him a bag with a container of shrimp scampi that wasn't closed and leaked liquid in the bag. My husband closed the container- and then took everything out and cleaned off the spilled buttery liquid from various containers in the bag. Max gave him a new bag for him to put the containers in. No apologies. No effort to help. No care. As my husband finaally arrived with the food he explained why I had to wait over 15 minutes for an order was proactively placed for a scheduled pick up time. I decided to call Red Lobster myself because surely the manager should know of the lack of quality control and service. No expectations- just wanting to share as a growth opportunity. Well, the girl that answered the phone was laughing as she answered, and I told her I'd like to speak with a manager. I had my phone on speakerphone so my husband could hear. The girl thensaid, the general manager? I said yes, sure. After a few minutes, the manager says hello. I asked his name, and he said, "Max". M-A-X". That was a little awkward to me. (Meanwhile, my husband's jaw dropped and mouthed-" that is him...that's who literally gave me a soaked bag". Max, is the general manager! During the conversation, Max was rude and lacked empathy. He didn't apologize AT ALL. He said, "Well, I gave him a new bag". I told him the food wasn't even ready at the scheduled time- he said it had been sitting on the lamp for 11 minutes.. I asked then why didn't you greet and give it to my husband? There was no other customers there! Max just didn't care. He was checked out. Moving on- when we got home, the family size scampi had little to no butter (as it was obviously all spilled out). The cocktail sauce was all spilled over the outside container. There was no butter, no sour cream for our family baked potatoes. The food was cold. This was a total waste of over $100 something dollars we spent. Waste of money. Waste of time. Waste, waste, waste. Red Lobster- I truly hope you get this message. I told Max I was going to contact the owner- He was like.."ok"... He does not care about the well-being of your business. I understand that maybe Max had a bad day. Maybe he was at the bar because someone called out. Who knows. We understand things happen. We are pretty reasonable folks. But the way we were treated is truly despicable. I don't expect much from Red Lobster. I think we can all say the consumers are aware of the struggles Red Lobster has with quality and service. Well, I believed the new CEO had been doing a wonderful job in fixing those problems. But here we are, Fredericksburg, Virginia....still not caring. Not caring about the franchise, the company. They just don't care. Well, at this point, I don't either. I won't be returning. I will spend our hard-earned money somewhere else. This Red Lobster in Fredericksburg is absolutely disgusting. The moment I walked in, I was hit with the smell of urine mixed with old train station air. Not exactly the kind of "welcome" you expect when you're about to eat seafood. The hostess looked miserable and uninterested, which matched the atmosphere perfectly. I went to use the restroom by the entrance, and it was filthy with paper towels all over the floor, a foul smell, and no sign of basic cleaning. To make matters worse, this was right next to the lobster tanks and the front entrance. I sat at my table for five minutes with no service at all. Not even a "hello." At that point, I had seen and smelled enough. Walking out, the stench by the doors was even stronger than when I came in. This place is unsanitary, unwelcoming, and downright gross. If you value cleanliness and basic customer service, avoid this location. This actually turned me off to going to another Red Lobster for a while. read more

I still enjoy Red Lobster. Over the years, fancier places have popped up, but It was a treat to get it when I was growing up, and I still like it. Every so often, I crave those Walts shrimp and a cheddar bay biscuit. My sister and I stopped in to the Fredericksburg location for lunch today, and they did not disappoint. We were immediately informed by our waitress that they were short handed and that she was waiting tables, manning the bar and runnings tabs. The only other waitress was 'in training ' and could not help. Placed our drink order and those came out quickly along with the biscuits. Our salad and soup followed close behind but every table that was put in this waitresses assigned area, got the same explanation - please be patient, I'm the only one here and I'm doing 3 jobs. We waited a long time for our main meal and then we were given the wrong meal. Thankfully we recognized the error immediately and nothing had been touched and the waitress took the food and delivered it to the correct table. We waited about 10 minutes more and when we finally got the meal, we were told they were out of mashed potatoes so husband was given a baked potato(without asking first if this was ok with husband). This location needs some MAJOR new management. Never saw a manager tonight - 1 other waitress finally came on board but that was completely ridiculous to have 1 person running all over the restaurant doing multiple jobs. AND if this weren't bad enough, she told the table behind us that they had no dishwasher tonight either so imagine all of those dirty dishes just piling up in the back while food was going rotten. We were immediately seated once we arrived. It was not crowded at all. We ordered and got our drinks quickly with no issue. However it took an hour for us to receive our main entrees. Our waitress said they only had one cook working initially and that the second cook was just coming into work. The food was definitely not worth the wait. The seafood boil was bland and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were cold. The only thing decent about the meal were the appetizers. Highly disappointed. While ordering our food we asked about a drink special they had which was the 2 for $8 margaritas. The waitress pointed us to another drink which was more expensive just for one. Upon receiving our bill, we were charged $10.49 each drink including the glass which we didn't ask for. It was just assumed we wanted extra glassware in our house. To refund the glasses we were told that they would have to recharge our credit card for the entire bill minus the glasses. Something which I didn't want to do. I asked if they could give a gift card for the difference and was told no they couldn't accommodate us that way. Imagine being in a hospital for 3 weeks and desperately wanting some seafood. My wish was granted and a Mariner's Boil was delivered to my hospital room. The food delivered to me is the stuff that nightmares are made of and easily in the top ten of worst dishes ever made and consumed. Jim Jones' last supper of koolaid and poisonous snacks sounds slightly more appealing and at a minimum was at least more creative than the Red Lobster seafood boil. Did I mention that this bag of audacity from what may have been my last supper was $53 per bag? I demand satisfaction and would like to challenge the CEO of Red Lobster to a duel over the grossly over estimated worth of this bag. I have eaten better MREs in the field and have seen more visually appealing displays on high school cafeteria trays, hell prison might serve a better product. I received a $53 bag of grease, regret, and questionable quantities of poorly seasoned ill prepared sea critters that died in vain. Red Lobster should include a complimentary hefty bag for easy and convenient immediate disposal of the seafood boil as well as a visa gift card to be used for the purchase of a gas station sandwich, TUMS and a co-pay at your next cardiology appointment. This is my first time going to red lobsters in over 10 years and I see why I stopped going not very pleased with the company. I will never go back there again. The way it was really nice. Our family celebrated a birthday at this restaurant on Saturday. There were about 30 of us and another party was there with just as many people. The service was phenomenal!! We were never left unattended. The servers were prompt and attentive without being worrisome. The food was excellent! I've been to a few Red Lobster's in my time. We've been here a couple of times dining in, and have ordered pick up on another occasion. This Red Lobster isn't the cleanest Red Lobster I've been to. I never have to wait to be seated though, so that's a plus. We had initially went into AM Seafood. We actually prefer them overall to Red Lobster, but they wanted a lot more for their crab legs and were giving a lot less food. We found that Red Lobster gives more food and variety for the cost, so Red Lobster it was. This last visit, my husband and I were seated in the back. And about 10 minutes later, someone finally came to the table to get our drink orders. They weren't super busy, but it almost appeared that staff were confused on who was taking care of us. The initial table that they wanted to seat us at, was next to a family with very small babies. My baby days are long over, and if there is available seating away from children, I much prefer that when dining out. Nothing against babies or children, I adore my grandchildren, but I prefer a more quiet, romantic atmosphere if at all possible. The table location was perfect. It was next to a window and it started raining while we were there. It was a great dining experience once we were getting waited on. Our waitress got our drink orders and food orders all at the same time since we had waited so long just for her to approach us. We were splitting dinner and ordered the snow crab legs with a side of coconut shrimp and a side of sea scallops, a baked potato and a side salad. They brought us out the complimentary cheddar biscuits, and there was more than enough food for the two of us. Everything was delicious! The waitress had initially forgot the salad. Then forgot the coconut shrimp, so she comped part of our bill for the mishaps, which we greatly appreciated. Otherwise, she was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. I ordered the Endless Shrimp, and I ordered, as one of my choices, the Alfrado Shrimp. Being I had pasta with it, I asked for a spoon. It took almost 10 minutes to get one. The waitress never asked if I wanted another iced tea, even with my glass being empty of tea. During our dinner, she never asked if there was anything we wanted. When I was first seated, the area I was in (in front of the bar but not at the bar) had a really off putting smell. Almost like a sink was backed up or maybe something wrong with the plumbing. It wasn't an extreme smell but there overall. I had a very nice waitress who moved me to a different section which had a much better smell and environment. The food was okay. I wasn't expecting the freshest seafood out there but I do prefer everything to not be slathered in salted butter. Eventually, everything on the plate started to taste the same. We came here right at opening of July 4th and we're quickly seated. We ended up at a table towards the back of the restaurant even though there were tons of open tables towards the front which was a little odd. Our waiter quickly came out to assist us and made sure to bring our drinks out quickly. We started with the Sunrise Pina Colada which was excellent. It was super refreshing for a hot day and we loved the strawberry puree on top. For our meal, we ordered the 3 course meal which included lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail, and the blackened salmon. I should've known from the beginning...the hostesses were completely unprofessional and had a group of their teen friends huddled around the hostess station looking at something probably in their phone laughing and chatting it up. Said he would ask manager to take a percentage off the bill because of it. Service was terrible. I got create your own feast and sent back my crab legs because they were SO BAD. Coconut shrimp was over-fried but edible. Was not offered crab crackers or bowl for shells or extra napkins despite having asked for these things...even though you shouldn't have to ask for them. We started with clam chowder, then salads (one garden salad and one Caesar salad), then the main course (shrimp Linguini Alfredo), and Brownie Overboard (warm brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream). The soup was rich and creamy, the salads were generous and fresh, the shrimp linguini Alfredo included a generous amount of shrimp, and the dessert was delicious. The service was excellent.
