This was not how I planned to start my evening but nothing I can do when a tree attacks your car. I called around and sent messages on Yelp trying to get it fixed that same night, but no luck. However, I decided to hire JJ Windshield Repair and Replace because they provided a decent quote AND offered an OEM windshield. The other businesses didn't mention if it was OEM and I figured I would have to pay more money to get the window tinted after it's fixed. With JJ Windshields, I didn't have to worry about that. Eddie showed up at my house (9 minutes after the 2 hour appointment time which was the only downside) the very next morning. He took one look at all the broken glass and said, "What a mess!" I smiled and said, "Don't judge me," and we both started laughing. From there, he got straight to work. He cleaned up all the glass, replaced the windshield, and had everything done in about 45 minutes. Eddie was professional and efficient. I didn't get a response by text, hours later I ended up calling then was told the windshield had not arrived yet and the appointment would need to be Saturday. On Saturday, I again had to wait for an update and was eventually told he would be arriving at 1 PM, Marco then reached out past 1pm and let me know he will be 30 minutes to an hour late. The windshield itself was installed and the price was pretty reasonable. However, I did notice that the lower right trim around/below the windshield was not fully seated afterward. I was able to seat it myself, so it ended up being a minor issue. The bigger problem was the communication and calibration follow-up. I asked for a report confirming the windshield calibration had been completed and was sent to a location in El Monte. After sitting in traffic for almost an hour to get there, I checked in and the people at the location had no idea who I was or why I had been sent there. Marco then called me and explained that the person I needed had already left and that I would now need to go to another location. I was told I could go to ANOTHER location on Saturday, so I messaged Marco the day before asking for the address. He never responded. It is now Saturday and I still have not received the location or the calibration report I originally requested. Overall, the windshield was installed for a decent price, but the communication throughout the process was extremely lacking and the calibration follow-up has been frustrating and unprofessional. Last night I had a tweaker break my rear window to try and steal some items from my car, got nothing but caused me to have to buy a new window. I called Safelite and they gave me a ridiculous quote and couldn't get it done until Monday, this being a Thursday. My wife gave me the number for Mobile Safe Auto Glass since she used them before .
