This use to be our go to spot for a Tuscan panini at least 3 days a week after work. The rosemary bread is yummy goodness. I haven't been here in 8 yrs but we were in town and decided to stop by today. the interiors look the same, fun Irish warm woody vibe. Always a good stop for a drink. The food is delish. I was just surprised at the price tag. I ordered my usual - a Tuscan panini. And the price tag is now 17$ wow. Long Island isn't scary. Really it's not. It's just different from the city. BK Sweeney's is a different kind of place than the haunts I frequent in the BK or Manhattan. There was a lot of horse-racing on televisions. And a lot of disgruntled looking men watching those televisions. Anyway, met a friend for lunch. Food was okay, service was a little slow. Had a burger and it was tasty (bacon and cheese is always good) and the fries were very good. Beer selection was weak but they did have Bluepoint. Took a couple of tries to get a glass of water but I think the waitress was just forgetful, not malicious. I guess if you're in Bethpage, it's not a bad place to go. It's clean, spacious and not too noisy. But it's not what I would consider a destination restaurant and bar. read more

Bottomless brunch at BK Sweeney's is the best! This is a great causal place to meet up with friends on Sunday! Prices were very reasonable especially since they include delicious cocktails of your choice of Bloody Mary's, Mimosa's or Screwdrivers! Our waitress was extremely attentive. They complimentary bread basket include bagels and cinnamon crumb cake! I highly recommend their crab cakes eggs Benedict! I choose tater tots!!! My friend said the French toast was amazing as well! The one thing I remember from coming here as a kid is that itis DARK inside. It isn't just ordinary darkness, it's ADVANCED DARKNESS. Okay not really, but the lighting inside is very dim. It seems like a little community there, they sponsor outings to Mets games with rides and beer included, so said a flyer in the Men's room. The food there is pretty good. It's nicer than the average pub, so the food is at least better than the average pub food. Last time I was there I got a salad (stupid diet!) that was okay, not spectacular. Usually I go for their burgers. Big thick juicy burgers with tons of topping options. This is where BK Sweeney's shines. The big horseshoe-shaped bar takes up the middle of the restaurant, and you can order food from anywhere inside, or sit at one of the tables past the bar and just get drinks. i always like it when bars allow you to get a table and doesn't force you to order food. It makes me feel like I'm in a sitcom. I will say that when I was there last my friend asked for mushrooms on his burger and wasn't brought them. This place has been a Bethpage staple for a long time. A great place to gather with friends for mini reunions. Good food , great atmosphere although it can get quite loud in here. They have an OTB and quick draw which I like a lot.. Prices are probably on par with most other pub style places in the area so that's not a concern. This was the worst meal with the worst service that we've had in a long time. The waiter disappeared, we had to hunt him down for a salad, then find him for ketchup and Parmesan cheese. What restaurant doesn't offer Parmesan cheese with a pasta dish, or ketchup when you order French fries. There was a wire bristle, most likely from the grill, in one of our dishes. Our family has enjoyed going to BK for 25+ years. However, during a recent visit we were disappointed when noticed that our credit card receipt contained an unrecognized charge. Our waitress told us it was a 4% surcharge for paying with a credit card. There was no advance notice, disclosure or warning posted anywhere about the surcharge, including on the menu and the initial bill. The strict laws that govern this type of business practice requires such businesses to disclose the surcharge policy prior to checkout. We hope readers of this post will be better prepared prior to taking out your credit card to pay your B.K. bill. read more

I come to B.K. Sweeny's a lot, but only to meet to have the bus pick me up to take me to Giants Games. It was always to early to come in and dine. This time since I was meeting up with someone I picked this spot to try the food. Coming at night there was a pleasant ambience surrounding the building. Low lights with wood themed design throughout the room. The place also has a wrap around bar that makes seating convenient if you do not want a booth or table. I chose a booth and I was happy with how comfortable the seats were. This is a bar with lots of TV's with sports on all night. Our waiter, Steven was great! He got our order quick and correct and it came out fast. First up was the appetizer, the "Parkside Nachos." They were phenomenal! They added a sweet chili sauce, with cheddar cheese on top and plenty of sour cream. The steak sandwich was also good. It had plenty of mozzarella on top and garlic bread underneath. I just wish they gave me more potato pancakes, they were good but I only got two, what a rip off. The second item was the chicken cutlet sandwich. It was cover with cheddar, bacon and mayo. It was average as chicken cutlet go. The sweet potato fries did not come with maple dipping sauce and they didn't give us enough. Nice irish pub/restaurant with a welcoming small town feel. Stopped in with family friends after an awards ceremony. The bartender was friendly and accommodating. We moved from the bar to a table in the back seamlessly (no issue about closing out the tab etc). Ordered some shared apps, which my favorite was the pretzel with beer cheese. the waiter who took over our table was courteous, efficient and friendly. Firstly their tailgate bus is a must do!!!!! - Low prices - Bus will arrive with at least 3 hours to tailgate in the parking lot of Metlife stadium. - All you can eat and drink once arriving at the stadium. - The food they grill is top notch (hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, sausage and peppers. Went here for brunch with two friends and just had to comment on the experience. It was like I was having an out of body experience. Our waiter started off ok and ended terribly. They have unlimited mimosas for brunch and it took forever to get our drinks. I'm taking twenty mins in between. My pancakes were supposed to come with sausage and they were absent. My friend ordered the carrot cake. I kid you not, it took 15/20 mins to get the carrot cake. And when we tired to get our server's attention his response was "yea your carrot cake, I know" and walked away. Luckily he knew that wait and response was ridiculous and he comped her cake and apologized for the wait. I will say what we ordered was pretty good taste wise. But the service was awful. Just awful. And the main reason I'm even commenting on this experience isn't even because I was just so upset about the service. I'm upset because when I got home I opened my left overs and clears as day what I saw was bad. They garnished my pancakes with oranges and strawberries. I had clearly put my orange skins on the side of my plate. So the fact that who ever packed it threw them on top of my pancakes makes me so angry. I usually come here for lunch on Friday's. I have probably been here 50 times and dont remember ever having a bad meal. They have new luch specials daily. I always check out the sandwich of the day, usually its something real good and usually goes for like $9.95. They have homemade shepards pie which is great on a cold winter day. It really hits the spot. Their burgers are fantastic!! The only thing I really wouldnt reccomend are some of the wraps which tend to fall apart while your eating them. The buffalo chicken wrap, while delicious, tends to leak the buffalo sauce which can be messy. The service is usually excellent but can be slow at times. One cool thing they have is a lunch card, every 5 lunches you buy, you get one free! Awe-Some!!!! Overall, I love this place and will continue to have lunch here. read more

Our glasses never saw empty and she was delightful. We ordered some wings for the table. They were good, not great. They seemed fresh but they put like a sweet glaze under the hot sauce which I thought was kinda weird.I got the Wisconsin burger which was pretty good- I think it was 10 bucks, no complaints. The drinks are priced in the middle range, with a Johnny Walker Black running you about 9 bucks. I only went to this place once. It is an older crowd type of place. It is really big and they have good bar service. It is a good place to make a stop but I wouldn't spend the whole night. Didn't eat. It was a little pricey but I figured since the bartenders were in white button ups and ties... This is definitely a local kind of joint too. Still had a good time regardless. read more

I hate to say it, but this was the absolute worst of brunch experience I've ever had. The seating is comfortable and atmosphere very nice. But that is where it ends. Let's start with the fact that we asked for half and half of our coffee and received milk. They advertise you will get a basket of crumb cakes, instead we got a basket with two small pieces of Entenmann's crumb cake and two fairly stale Bagels. Which hardly mattered because we barely got the crumb cakes when our food was brought out immediately. The bottomless cocktails were a main part of why we went there, but the Bloody Mary's tasted like tomato juice with black pepper. Not a solitary garnish, just a straight up and down glass, no celery, no lime wedge, no Olive. Nothing. On to the food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict, which I already complained it came out way too quickly, but on top of it, the home fries we're more like a few thick potato chips with onions and peppers. Could barely stab it with my Fork., but worse, I had to send them back because they were ice cold. Once I finally received it back warm and cut into my Benedict, One was cooked fine the other had no yolk in it. I do not mean the yolk was hard, I mean there was no yolk. The unlimited drinks were super slow to come out. Even if they were bad. This did not seem like it was an off-day for them. I stopped by BK's yesterday for brunch/lunch with my family. I've frequented this place for several years both to eat and sample the amber. This is your quintessential 'Irish Pub'' and it is very well managed. The food is very good and the bar area is always lively. If you are a sports fan you just arrived in heaven! The bar tenders are always friendly the regulars are mature and cool. The tap beer is excellent and there are numerous TV's to watch all the games.The bar also sponsors many sport outings such as Jets games and concerts. Getting back to the food my favorites are the Meatloaf and the Shepard's Pie. They have a nice Sunday Brunch menu and a private room for parties. There is ample parking in the lot adjacent to the place with their own back entrance. BK's has a large number of loyal, repeat customers and the management team goes to great lengths to keep them. A nice place to go for a drink and to chill. The drinks prices are good, the bar staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I wouldn't recommend the food though, nor did I rate the waiters. The menu is outdated and weak. We ordered cheeseburger sliders and chicken wings with mild sauce. When brought to the table, the waiter grumbled something and slapped a pile of wet, stained napkins in front of us. The wings were way too spicy and the sliders were cold and soggy. We were both sick that night and the day after. Overall, if you're looking for a place to have a few drinks and relax with friends, or even by yourself, I'd definitely recommend. The bartender who I found out, is the owners brother, was extremely rude and sexist and racist. The whole time that I was there he was cursing, I did not ask me if he wanted anything to drink or eat.
