I've always heard such great things about their coffee! Considering this joint is called "Waffle Studio" and they specialize in egg waffles, it's pretty impressive how many people have raved more about their coffee. Although, i'm sure their egg waffles are good too because it smelled really good! It's a small boba shop, but very quaint and cozy. It's nice to sit here cause the egg waffles smell really good lol. It was my first time trying and I was heavily debating between the ube, sesame, and egg coffee. I ended up getting the egg coffee since it the cashier says that one was the most popular option. I noticed that they also use "Trung Nguyen Legend" Vietnamese coffee, which I've also heard about from others since I heard their coffee was pretty good! It didn't take too long for them to finish my drink, and the cafe was not really busy at all either. Trying my drink, the first thing I noticed was that the egg cream top was not that thick as I thought. Usually the ones I had, the cream at the top would be really thick and creamy, but this was more on thel ighter side. I liked how it was slightly sweet, but feel like the flavor of it wasn't that strong. Then trying the Vietnamese Iced Coffee below it, it was definitely really strong! I didn't really like it at first, but as the ice melted in my drink, it tasted a lot better. I would give it some time for it to let it settle before drinking so it wouldn't be that strong. Overall, it was a pretty good drink! There's not that many coffee shops in the 626 area that serves these types of drinks. The closest around may be AK Fresh Roast, but I feel like their drinks feel really overpriced for this type of drink. Waffle Studio actually has the best value and tastes just as good, so I would definitely choose this over AK. It may not taste as good as Da Vien in OC (I like their cream top better), but I would come here again for this ube/sesame/egg coffee fix in the 626. read more

I really love their coffee! A friend recommended this place to me and I am thankful for it. This place serves a variety of fruit drinks, Vietnamese coffee, milk teas, buns and waffles. As a person who loves Vietnamese coffee and ube, their ube coffee was divine. It is best drinken through the sip lid instead of a straw, so you can taste the delightfulness of both parts. No shaking of course to mix it. My viet husband who is very picky with his coffee really liked this place too, although he said this place is a close second to Lee's sandwiches coffee. Had the original waffle and it came with a cream cheese dip. It was very delicious with a salty and sweet flavor of the sauce which made it special. One thing I want to add that makes their coffee outstanding is that their coffee didn't give me a headache. Vietnamese coffee is known to be extremely strong, and I usually get sick from it when I drink it at other places. Didn't get sick at all or dehydrated. Excited to come again. I ordered via delivery and look forward to go to their store, so I can order Taiyaki with their coffee again. Indoor decor was cute, however, huge supply/packaging boxes were all over the store which make vibe less appealing. I ordered a Strawberry Egg Waffle and an Ube Iced Coffee. The waffle was subpar in quality and mediocre in taste; the only thing that was great were the fresh strawberries. Conversely, the Ube iced coffee was perfectly concocted and tastes good. Staff were competent and professional. Prices were fairly competitive. Their seats (white couch) were kinda dirty which I saw some human hair and drink stains. Parking lot available. I came to this place eager to try it out but instead was extremely disappointed by the entire experience. The staff was completely rude and they were ignoring all the customers waiting in line. A lady whose name was Van I believe, the manager, was on her phone slouched in the corner as the employees were talking amongst themselves. The manager finally walked over to the person up next and sighed before saying "what you want?" in the worst tone ever. When it was finally my turn I was greeted by the same dreadful tone as she rolled her eyes and shrugged before walking away as I was mid sentence. She then left and disappeared to yell at her employees in the back room for a few minutes. She made my drink as she slammed things around and knocked things over while doing it. The worst thing was she knocked over some cups on to the floor and instead of throwing them away, she put them back on the counter to serve to guests later !!! Gross!! I finally got my pandan coffee and got out of there asap. I got to the car, and took a sip. Awful. It was watered down and completely sour. Such a waste of money but I didn't want to deal with everyone in there a minute longer! Hi, I'm writing to share a recent experience I had at your establishment last night, which I found disappointing--primarily due to the lack of communication and repeated instances of staff walking away mid-interaction. I was initially told my mobile order was not ready by the girl working @ the front. She told me the drink would be ready in 5 minutes.After that first interaction, I went to sit and waited some time before following up. When I checked back, she said she couldn't locate my order and walked away without providing any update. When I followed up again and showed my receipt, she mentioned she may have given the drink to someone else and again walked away without resolving the situation or offering clarification. She remained unsure and involved a coworker to assist & it was in the fridge. Despite the drink having been in the refrigerator the entire time, she once again walked away without acknowledging the mistake or addressing me. I then asked the other employee if my drink had been there the whole time, but was only told that the team was short staffed and he, too, walked away before I could respond. I fully understand that busy nights can create challenges. However, the repeated lack of communication, absence of accountability, and especially the pattern of walking away during interactions left a negative impression. My order rec- ube coffee (regular size bc large got me flying) Come here to fuel up on some *strong* vietnamese coffee! They have a wide and fun selection to choose from and I was suprised how strong it was as an avid viet coffee goer. I would say I like the depth of the coffee more than my local coffee shop (Da vien). The ube cream was thick and creamy and added subtle sweet and earthy taste to balance out the bitter coffee. It seemed like they brewed every cup to order but it still came out relatively fast in my opinion (maybe 5 minutes?). No party was ahead of me when I went at 8am but I can see the line getting backed up. Also, while beautifully decorated, this place is small and only has about 3-4 tables. I wouldn't suggest planning a study session here but more of a catch up session with friends or a quick grab! Shoutout to my friend Lam for showing me where the locals grab coffee at in El Monte. I don't know many coffee shops in the El Monte area that serve Vietnamese Egg Coffee or cream topped coffee for that matter so when I heard about this spot, I made a mental note to stop by this spot if I was ever in the area. If the fact that they sell Vietnamese coffee is not an indicator already, but their coffee is very strong. If coffee isn't your thing, they have other milk teas and non-caffeinated drinks so there's really something for everyone here. They also sell egg waffles and taiyaki. Usually in other spots, I see one or the other but not both! I really love how they decorated their interior, especially the floral wall. I've passed by this location many times and finally got to try it this past weekend. The brulee coffee was what caught my attention since I can only find egg coffee in OC area. This one is pretty darn close except it has a lot of chocolate powder and ice for my liking. Next visit I will get the larger size and request less ice and less chocolate powder. I was also intrigued by their waffles so I decided to try the pandan with coconut flakes. I prefer my waffles to be crispy but this was a bit soft/soggy. Have to say, my choices this time were better than what I ordered last time. Waffle Studio (previously visit): Avocado Coffee was alright and Hot Sesame Coffee (better, but not memorable). Maybe the iced version would be a better choice? Food/dessert wise...they're okay. Some are mediocre. This place just opened and I've came over 4 times in a short period of time. The drinks are genuinely so good. I'm very picky with my matcha and this place has hit the spot every time. The banana coffee is also really good. The ambience is nice, definitely a nice place to study or hang out. They have a few tables and a patio. 3.5 stars for mediocre waffles and decent Vietnamese coffee. Specializing in egg waffles, this aesthetic cafe has a variety of different waffle, tea, and coffee options. However, they seemed to be sold out of several of their waffle flavors and taiyaki flavors which they also sell when I visited. On their menu they have several flavors, but when I tried ordering some them, they were mostly sold out. I ordered a strawberry egg waffle and sesame waffle initially, but they were sold out of the sesame and didn't tell me until after I had already placed my order and I had to ask about my missing waffle after only receiving just my strawberry waffle. I ended up asking for the cheese cream waffles instead. The waffles tasted just okay. They became soggy pretty quick and the strawberry waffle was a bit too cooked while the cheese cream waffle was a bit undercooked. For $7-8 each waffle, it wasn't really worth due to the lack of toppings and flavor in my opinion. The strawberry egg waffle came with a drizzle of strawberry sauce, cut strawberries, and a strawberry cream. The cheese cream just came with the side of cream. I ordered the egg coffee which is apparently also called their brulee coffee based on my receipt, and an Ube coffee. The ube and egg coffee tasted pretty good though. I liked the taste and sweetness of the Vietnamese coffee that it came with. However, the coffee was topped with a bit too much ube cream and egg cream foam, so the proportion of the coffee ended up being mostly sweet foam rather than coffee. The egg and Ube foam was good, but I would've preferred having more coffee and little less of the creams. Overall a mediocre spot for egg waffles and coffee. I think it's pricey for the quality of waffles that you're getting but I'm glad I tried it out. It's definitely a nice and aesthetic spot to hang out with a good amount of tables available. read more

I've driven by this place many times, seen it on socials, and am happy that I finally got to try it out this weekend. My new fave Viet Coffee spot in the 626!? ITEM'S ORDERED: Sesame Coffee Vietnamese Coffee Matcha Coffee Ube Coffee Pandan Coconut Waffle Black Sesame Waffle TASTE: Not to be unoriginal but my favorite was the OG, straight up Viet Coffee. Not to say the other drinks were bad in anyway, it's just I enjoy the original version so much, I don't think any variation ever stands up to it. Strong bold coffee, balanced out by the proper amount of sweetness, always so good. The other drinks which are basically Viet Coffee but with a flavored cream on top all reminded of Da Vien (in the OC) when I first saw the pics. I'll have to say that I may prefer these though simply since I like the texture of the creams better than the overly thick versions at Da Vien. This way they can more easily be mixed into the overall drink for better flavor balance. The Sesame Coffee was interesting since even though the coffee is so strong, you can detect that roasted, nutty flavor adding another dimension which is worth a try. The Matcha Coffee has a strong enough matcha flavor which is not lost when it's paired with the strong coffee base and is a good choice if you enjoy both matcha and coffee. The Ube Coffee has a nice look with it's deep purple color and was overall the sweetest with light notes of coconut coming from the ube. I don't get these type of waffles often but since I enjoy the black sesame flavor I tried the Black Sesame Waffle and it's really good paired with the sesame cream. The waffle itself is quite light and has a pretty subtle sesame flavor which is nice. Having it with the cream added a little more sesame flavor along with salt and sweet. SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING: The service was very good here. They were nice at the counter and even though it was very busy, they service was still there. The are located right at the corner of Rosemead & Garvey in Garvey Rose Center, right across from Starbucks. Parking is easy since the center has it's own parking lot. If you know the area, you know the intersection right here is very busy so be careful leaving the parking lot. There are about 6 tables inside and an aesthetically pleasing wall for you to use for your IG photos of your drinks. If you are looking for a solid Viet Coffee spot that's not in the OC, you should make your way to Waffle Studio. Cheers! read more
