I appreciate the intention of Moncha Cafe (Rosemead). I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). The tea is refreshing, crisp, and pleasant. Unfortunately, I sat on a sticky couch covered in long strands of old hair in a musty, unswept, grimy room while Staff casually rested by the counter. The location felt gross and unmaintained. I arrived at Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) on Tuesday - May 12, 2026 (at 12PM - Opening Time). The location was DIRTY! I quickly found parking in the small lot; it fits about 15 cars. Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers primarily order at the Self-Service Kiosk. I dislike how the kiosk requires a cell phone number to proceed. My drink took two minutes and 45 seconds. Quick. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). YUM! The Iced Flower Tea is a combination of Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum buds, Osmanthus, and Gomphrena Amaranth Flowers. The tea is honey-like, crisp, and thirst quenching. Concerning the boba, it's floral with a grape-like texture; it's an acquired taste. On ambiance, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) has wonderful potential. For example, I absolutely LOVE the plentiful electrical outlets, MANY boardgames for customers, and plush seating. There's also customer internet with password; details proudly displayed on the counter. And there's a gender neutral restroom. The lighting and art is also attractive. Unfortunately, during my visit, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) reminded me of an unmaintained, public city bus. I have seen "B Grade" Businesses that are cleanlier... The crevices and corners are littered with crumbs; parts of the tables are sticky; the couches and cushions are entangled with long, old hair. Overall, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) is not bad. I genuinely enjoyed their tasty, affordable tea. However, I don't feel comfortable enough to return if they're unable to maintain a standard of cleanliness. The shop is spacious and seems to be a popular study spot, and service was friendly as well. After listening to a few suggestions, I went with the Midnight flower tea, which was described as a blend of osthmanthus, chrysanthemum buds, and amaranth. I also tried their Brazilian limeade, or limeade with condensed milk. I didn't really love either drink, as I felt the midnight flower tea was a little too bitter while the ratio between the lime and condensed milk in the limeade felt off. I stopped by in the afternoon on a Friday to get some work done. As someone who is very sensitive to caffeine, I was happy to see lots of caffeine-free options. I opted for the strawberry floral tea (caffeine-free due to chrysanthemum tea base) with brown sugar agar boba and popcorn chicken with Chinese bbq seasoning. The employee brought my drink and food directly to my table. I was surprised by the boba because I originally thought it was brown sugar OR agar boba but they flavor their agar boba with brown sugar. Agar boba is not my favorite, but it's good with the brown sugar! The floral tea was interesting, but I think I'd opt for something else next time as I found the chrysanthemum flavor a little too overpowering. The chicken is not the Taiwanese style. A nitpicky detail: I wish the chicken came mixed with the seasoning already, or at least came in packaging where I could close and shake. The flavor was great though! Heard about Moncha Cafe through Yelp SGV. They just recently had a Grand Opening. Thought I give them a try since I was in the neighborhood in Rosemead. Came here with my eldest daughter. They weren't super busy at the time. Parking lot is quite small. We got lucky with parking since our visit was during low peak hours. Cute spacious inside space with reasonable amount of seating for customers to chill, chit chat, do homework, or just relax with an iced or hot drink of choice. Restrooms are available in the back. Yay, free WiFi! They have board games, too. Ordering can be done via the self-ordering kiosk or at the counter. Lady staff was super nice and friendly, but a tad soft spoken. I could barely hear her speak at times. She was kind to deliver our drinks to our table. Thank you Miss for the above and beyond service! My daughter got the Peach Flower Tea with lychee jelly. It has a hint of chrysanthemum tea flavor. Very nice and light. Flavor was subtle, but soothing. I liked it a lot. I got the Midnight Jasmine Milk Tea with sakura boba. It was smooth and refreshing. Boba was firm and bouncy. Milk tea had a very familiar flavor. What came to mind was the Bazooka bubble gum flavor. Bingo! I was right. The lady confirmed it is infused with chican which is a Peruvian corn. Cool! I would get the midnight flavor again. On our way out, I ordered two more drinks. Was craving flavored fries and knew Moncha has them on their menu. Interior is GORGEOUS and looks so comfy for studying. Really quiet and plenty of people working inside too. For the fries, I mixed honey butter and chinese bbq. The flavor was really good! They gave me a spicy powder too that added this chinese lamb skewer taste to it. The powder combo had a nice balance of spicy, sweet and savory bbq. A big portion too for $5. My main compliant would be the size of the powder. My friend and I decided to co-work here at Moncha Cafe on a Friday afternoon. I got the Honey Flower Tea, which seems to be a blend of flowers. It taste just like chrysanthemum and osmanthus, which I believe are in the blend. It's brewed very well and not overly sweetened with honey, the ratio is just right! Also noticed Sakura boba-never had it so added that-- best choice! It was bouncy, chewy with a "snap", will definitely choose this over the brown sugar boba. Personally, I don't use sauces when eating popcorn chicken, but it felt nice to have a variety of options. As for the chicken itself, it's definitely a batter, so not the typical Taiwanese style popcorn chicken if that is what you are expecting. I ordered mine at Spicy level, and I think the amount of chili powder ended up affecting the chicken's crispiness. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken, and will make adjustments next time. Drove by this location multiple times and I finally have a chance to try. They have a spacious spot with many tables. You can order from the kiosk or talk to the friendly staff. The owner happened to be there and explained the menu to me. He is Peruvian Chinese so his menu is inspired by that. The midnight milk tea comes from infused purple corn syrup that he makes in house. He was very friendly and offered me a variety of samples to try before ordering. I decided to order the mango green tea for my husband. He said that it was a good mango flavor, but could use more tea. I ordered the midnight jasmine milk tea because I really liked the purple corn syrup that he let me taste. I got that with the Sakura crystal Boba because that was infused with actual Sakura . I liked it a lot. It tasted yummy and not too milky and not too sweet. I also ordered the popcorn chicken. I like that there was a variety of seasoning you can choose. I got the garlic Parmesan for my child since she couldn't eat anything spicy and it was pretty good next time. This was my favorite drink out of the bunch. Wasn't too sweet, and had a good matcha flavor. I will say that I wished the matcha flavor was a little bit stronger. Would definitely order this again. Oolong milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) with less ice and less sugar. The drink was good, but I felt that there was a lack of oolong tea flavor. It was a little bit on the milkier side. I did enjoy the agar boba, but the brown sugar added an extra sweetness to the overall tea. Assam black milk tea with brown sugar agar boba ($5 + $0.50) - less sugar and ice. I enjoyed this drink! They use nondairy creamer for the teas, which muted the sweetness. I could taste the tea flavor, and the agar went well with the tea. Currently they're having a soft opening promotion for 20% off and a free Assam tea with purchase. The parking lot is kind of small and shared by another business, but I didn't have any issues finding a spot. A kind lady took my order, and my food and drink promptly came out as I got settled in. Tea actually tastes like tea, big plus for me. My drink order, the citrus emerald oolong tea had what I assume is blue curacao complimenting the oolong and giving it that dark green color towards the bottom. Very refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet which I like. As a study spot, they have nailed it. Free wifi, of course. The seats are comfy, and along the wall they have outlets, which is ideal. Hands down one of the best boba spots in the SGV. Moncha Cafe really stands out for its unique drink selection and chill atmosphere. If you're into floral, smooth teas, the Midnight Jasmine milk tea is a must try! I'd recommend getting it at 50% sweet. The Citrus Emerald Oolong is another favorite of mine if you're looking for more of a fruit tea drink. What really surprised me is the food. You can grab fries for $5 and popcorn chicken for $6, which feels like a steal these days. They do the popcorn chicken and fries in a variety of flavors too. The vibes here are on point. I usually come here to hang out with friends and play some card games. They have a whole selection of board and card games you can borrow. I've seen many people come here to study as well. If you're in the SGV and love boba, Moncha Cafe is definitely worth a visit. I come back like every week and love it! read more

So new tea shop on the block so I had to go try it. It's currently on soft opening so they have two promotions and you can use both at the same time. The first promotion is 20% off and the second is a free assam iced tea (which is black tea). The free tea is sweetened. I ordered a Oolong Milk tea and I got it with regular sweetness and I would have to say it was good. They don't fill the cup with like 90% ice and it's not too sweet for regular sweetness. I usually like to try the full sweetness when I first try a place. The free assam tea was good too. It's sweet ice black tea. Not overly sweetened either. I like the cups they use, it's a premium cup that's nice a thick. Pricing of this place is very affordable, even without the promotion the drinks are affordable. It's around 5 dollars per drink, not filled with ice, so I would say it's worth the 5 bucks. The service was good, I had questions about the menu since it was my first time here. I asked about dairy free options and luckily the milk tea does have a dairy free creamer option. Yay for lactose intolerant people! They also have just regular tea as well. The inside of the place is very nice and clean. Has a upscale vibe and the music choose is quiet and not too loud. The music is pretty calm and smooth and definitely a place you can sit and chat or study. Parking for this place is good too. The parking is a one way so you need to enter on Valley and exit off Walnut Grove. It's a pretty low entry so it's low car friendly. Since it's a one way parking lot, you can take over the entire ramp if your car is super slammed to the ground to get up. I didn't have to take an extreme angle. Overall, solid 5/5! I got the popcorn chicken and the oolong tea no sweet with osmanthus jelly. I thought it was perfect as the jelly is naturally sweet which adds flavor to the unsweetened tea. The popcorn chicken was made really well as it was really crispy and it included a lot of condiments. The service was friendly and lots on seating, makes it perfect for a place to play games with friends, catch up, or even study. They also open late which is a plus. Great place to study and isn't loud at all so I locked in for a long time here. Theres good Wifi and outlets in every booth. Small business and kind service. The food here is pretty good too and they personally give your order to your table which is very accommodating. One thing here is that the drinks aren't too up to par with other places in the area but everything else here makes up for it. Would come again and support this small business. :) read more

Cute & cozy interior--great choice if you plan to stay for a while. Plenty of seating. They were doing a free pumpkin spice assam milk tea for thanksgiving weekend per order which was generous. I ordered the Chocolate Au Lait. Upon appearance, I was confused because the color wasn't really the chocolately color I expected. Flavor-wise, it didn't really taste like chocolate either--something was off about it. I wasn't a big fan. Cute spot to either get together with friends or study. I've come here on multiple occasions to get some work done because the ambience is great. Low noise level with r&b music playing, spacious seats and tables, and great food and drinks provided. Addressing previous reviews about food, I haven't had any issues as of late. Fries were crispy and soft inside, same with the fish. Parking lot is a tad small, but I haven't had issues finding a spot. Mind the curb while pulling in. Seems like a one-man shop at the moment, but he does an excellent job managing the place. I can definitely see this spot picking up in the future, bring your friends! read more
