While in Savannah for a bachelorette party, our group made a reservation at b Matthews for brunch. Our server, Mike, was definitely up for the assignment and took great care of our group. We started with a few coffees, mimosas, and bloody marys (presentation & taste were both 10/10, and get it spicy!). Our dairy free girl was so pumped that they had oat milk for her coffee. Our table of 12 tried a wide array of items on the menu, including the spicy jalapeño wrap, the lamp post, chicken n biscuit, ham and cheddar omelette, veggie hash, French toast, and the goat cheese & apple sandwich. The homemade turkey apple sausage was delicious!! Nothing but positive comments about the food and service for the rest of the day. Thank you Mike & b matthews for being a small part of our trip and hitting the mark!!

Came here to have breakfast before going to the horse carriage tour. Service was quick and attentive. Ambience is very unique, since it's a bar but also a breakfast and a seat down place. It's more of a rusty feel. We ordered a few different things. I had a vegetable scramble and was pretty tasty but a little too small. Bacon was good, so as French toast. They have a menu for children and our toddler enjoyed it. They offer some alcoholic drinks which we didn't order.

We have been to B. Matthew's more times than I can count, always for brunch, and it has been consistently fantastic. One of those places you recommend without thinking. So naturally, we decided to try it for dinner. This is where the phrase "stay in your lane" gently taps you on the shoulder. We started with the crab cakes, which arrived with confidence and left with regret. These were aggressively fishy and had the texture of a breakfast pancake that had dreams of being seafood. Not lump crab. Not delicate. Just... ocean forward. Neither of us liked them, and we tried. We really tried. Next up, the biscuits. At brunch, these things have charisma. At dinner, they were just... present. They took the edge off my hunger, which I appreciate on a human level, but the flavor was missing. The butter and jam also showed up emotionally unprepared. No sparkle. No joy. No brunch magic. At that point, we did what adults do when they realize the evening is not going to turn around. We paid the check, cut our losses, and went somewhere else for the main course. This is not a bad restaurant. This is a great brunch restaurant having an off night at dinner. I will absolutely be back. Just earlier in the day, with coffee, and with my expectations firmly seated where they belong.

The food at this restaurant is fabulous. The menu is very creative and everything that our table ordered was sooooo yummy. I had a banana espresso martini and a crab cake/ fried green tomato Benedict. The restaurant is located in a historical building and has been restored very well. If you can- make a reservation. We waited a good 35 minutes for a table for 4 on a Monday morning. The service was mediocre and we waited a very long time for the food to come out.

I haven't had a bad meal in Savannah and B. Matthew's didn't dissapoint. Tregg was our server and his suggestion of the fried green tomato crab cake Benny was on point. We sat outside because it was an hour wait but sitting under the live oaks and watching the world go by was great.

Long overdue review. I took my son here pre-Covid when I was on a work trip. Savannah has a lot of unique dining options in older commercial buildings that have been converted into cafes, hotels, restaurants and shops. I loved the aesthetics here. As for the food, we did breakfast, and it was a nice twist. Simple but decent! We have not been back to this spot since the 2019 stop, so apologize in advance for the old menu post.

Local review! There are so many good restaurants in Savannah, but every time I eat at B. Matthews I wonder why I don't dine here more often! I took my mom here for brunch on a Friday afternoon. They have a few tables outside so we went with that option. I had the omelette and potatoes. It was good! I ordered toast as well, which was super thick and yummy. My mom had the fried green tomato & crab cake benny-- now that's a photogenic dish! I instantly had to put a picture on instagram, ha! She said it tasted just as amazing as it looked.

Met some friends for dinner while in Savannah. Was very pleased with all aspects of this restaurant. The food was fresh, nicely presented and at proper temperature. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive to our groups needs. The ambience was warm & friendly. I would recommend checking out this establishment as I believe you'll have a great experience!

This was our first time here and the restaurant is super laid back and very well organized. The staff are super friendly, our waiter also gave amazing service and gave us some great advice on what to eat. The food was delicious served hot and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyed my brunch experience here! The food was very fresh and the portion was perfect. I did ask for a substitute (fruit instead of potatoes) and unfortunately it didn't come out that way so I needed to wait for them to remake it. That aside, I would recommend this as a spot to try if you're looking for something with healthier options as well.

We've tried quite a few different breakfast places while visiting Savannah, and this morning dined at B Matthew's. The positives is that the restaurant ambience is very nice and our server was great. The only issue was that neither my wife nor I thought the food was outstanding. I had the classic breakfast and my wife had the avocado toast. The highlight for me was the biscuit which was excellent. Lots of great breakfast spots in Savannah and this place was ok, just not one of my favorites.

We had a reservation and were seated within five minutes, which was great. I really loved the atmosphere and overall vibe of the restaurant, and the food was excellent. My only complaint was when I ordered a Coke, it came in a glass with a dried lipstick ring AND a crack down the side of the glass. I pointed it out to the waiter, and he replaced it quickly, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue. That part was a bit disappointing, but everything else was very enjoyable.

Yes , we reserved a brunch party there for a bachelorette trip

I see a lot of reviews for breakfast but how is it for dinner? menu item recommendations?

What a beautiful picturesque place to have some bites and cocktails!…read more I was welcomed into this moody, velvety spot with a sweeping view of the river. Beautiful glass, marble, deep colors of navy, mauve, and gold. Service was wonderful, felt welcomed immediately. For my appetizer, I had the crab cake with homemade tartar sauce, which was a light, bright way to start the evening. For my entree, I had the filet mignon. The server will tell you, the menu says tapas, but the servings are larger than that. Meat portions are generous at 6 oz. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak medium and got closer to well done. At least the steak was still moist and not dried out, but I would be hesitant to do the steak again. The spinach risotto I had with it was creamy and cheesy, however, so that was nice. Other options for food include burrata, a charcuterie board, grilled shrimp, sea bass, salmon, scallops. The cocktails are the real star here. They fall under the categories "strong and adventurous," light fare," and "signature." Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available. I started with the medusa 1597, under "strong and adventurous." Made with Old Tom Gin, extra dry vermouth, truffle, grapefruit, and amaro, it was extremely strong. A bold, slow sipper I would have done better to have later in the evening, but I still appreciate the complexity of it. I also had the Bella primavera, a lighter cocktail under the signature section. Made with pisco, blanc vermouth, French herbal liqueur, watermelon, and basil leaf. A smoother, brighter, faster sip than the Medusa. And I also had the blood orange martini, made with French vodka, blood orange, lime, and cranberry. A little sweet, but not cloying, and again, would have been a better starter as opposed to a closer. I think when I return, I will ask the bartender to make me off the menu drinks. This place seems creative enough that the outcome would be fantastic. I loved this place. The vibe, the view, the service, the offerings. Can't wait to see what more they have in store.

The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.
