Overall great experience! We came as a party of 3 for our book club :) I made a reservation for Saturday brunch and asked to sit outside. They have the igloos outside which was fun and nice to be by the water! Usually the restaurants with igloos require a minimum spend, but not here. They had a heater in the igloo but it wasn't necessary for us with the weather. The brunch was pretty standard, we ordered oysters, hash, and lobster croissant which was enough for a party of 3. Quality was pretty standard for central NJ, not bad but not super impressive either. The bottle of mimosa was a good deal for $20 and was perfect for 3 people! my wife and I went on Saturday, February 15,2025 so not to get caught up with Valentines Day. so the place was full but n back up. We had a 6:30 pm reservation. the place was excessively loud. We ordered our meals and my wife's came out very spicy. not what she ordered. asked the waitress to make sure it was corrected. she came back in few minutes with the plate and it seemed that the kitchen washer the linguini off and put back on the plate now waterlogged, no taste shrimp was the same because 1-2 were cutted. once the plate was redelivered the waitress never came back to see how everything was. The next time we saw her was at the end to see if we wanted a take home box and then the check. poor food and poor service. very disappointed read more

My friends heard about this restaurant on the radio so we figured we'd give it a try. Right away, you notice that they have a huge menu with a lot of variety... they definitely have something for everyone. The chicken sandwich and brookie were great. The service was good, but seemed to get slower as the night went on. The later it got, it seemed to become a bit more of a louder bar scene. All in all it was great though. I think B2 is more like a 3.5 star restaurant, but given that you can't give half start ratings and considering the quality of food and service, I decided to give it 4 stars. read more

I don't often give 5 star reviews, so I will say this is 4 stars. Very good pub style food with solid, well-made cocktails. Lakeside so you have nice views from virtually everywhere. There are looming high tension electrical lines running along the opposite side of the lake, but they don't detract too much. The best part is a waiter named Igor. He is hilarious. Ask for him by name. He's professional and attentive and will accommodate your special requests. Overall I would say this is a great spot to go and hang. read more

I was impressed with B2 Bistro + Bar! They had a killer ambiance -- with tunes and outdoor igloos to match. I made a reservation for brunch at 12:30 on a Sunday and my friend actually ended up being 40 minutes late but our waiter never once rushed me or us once she arrived. I really appreciated that. They had a decent crowd inside but I don't think they were at maximum COVID-allowed capacity at any point. It was a slower day. For myself, I had the Eggs Benedict, subbing the Canadian bacon for regular bacon. It was very yummy overall, though I will note that the hollandaise sauce is SUPER buttery and I found that the English muffin it came on tasted perhaps a bit stale. I had my eyes on dining at B2 for a really long time now, and was finally able to make my way over last Sunday on Valentine's Day for a galentine's lunch with my friend. First off, the location is tucked away off of route 130. Now, I've been on 130 thousands of times, but never stopped to think a restaurant could be on this road. Second, there were tons of cars in the parking lot but not that many people inside the restaurant, so that was a plus (that even though it looks full, it's not THAT full). There were a few downsides to my visit though. My friend was 30 mins behind me, and so instead of waiting in my car for her, I decided to just head inside and sit there and MAYBE order a drink. I walked inside, and the hostess was on a phone call and it took another 5-7 mins for someone else to notice I was waiting. I think it was the manager but not sure. Once I was seated, it took SO long for a waiter to notice that I was sitting at the table by myself. I probably sat there for 10 mins without anyone coming up to me to ask if I wanted water at least. Also, we chose this time to come to the restaurant because their menu says it was all day sunday happy hour, but the waiter said they didn't have happy hour. So why the heck does the menu say that?! All in all, it was a decent place. I would return for snacks and drinks post Covid but not for a full sit down lunch/dinner. read more

I love restaurant bars with decent food choices and TV screens so I can drink and watch sports. Coming from New York City, the parking size was amazing (haha). Our server was very nice that day. This was a really nice place to catch up with a friend over a meal. The outdoor scenery is quite gorgeous and the inside decor is cozy and inviting. I enjoyed a meal here during covid but I must say that I was pretty distant from other customers, so I felt very comfortable. I had a poke bowl and it was very filling and yummy. My companion enjoyed their french onion soup which she said was also quite good, as well as a poke bowl also. The wait staff was very friendly and quick. The stuffed flounder was dry overcooked and lacked seasoning both on the fish and in the stuffing, the Lobster raviolis lacked real flavor, the fish tacos looked thrown together and the sweet potato fries were soggy. Dessert was a little disappointing the key lime pie was overly bitter and the apple and waffle sundae was really off they brought it out in a cast iron pan that was ice cold with a cold waffle at the base and cold refrigerated apple filing again it lacked seasoning no real taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, or brown sugar. It's a nice atmosphere, but considering the price the food was no where deserving of the prices they charge. read more

This was an overall good experience. The place is very big and spacious with both indoor and outside seating. We sat in the indoor dining area where they seat the big parties, since it was 7 of us celebrating Mother's Day. I would say in general that this restaurant definitely specializes in big parties by how they are set up. They had a Brunch Menu, a Mother's Day Menu and their regular menu. The food was tasty and everyone was very pleased. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. He was happy to answer all of our questions and was very patient with us. Who I believe is the Manager also went around asking if we were enjoying ourselves or needed anything, and that was an added bonus. Overall, this restaurant is solid and I would recommend. The outdoor dining here was really cute. Right on the water and they have a little picturesque gazebo. The parking lot was so packed, I was surprised seeing as the restaurant was not that crowded For appetizers we had calamari, a spicy California roll and shrimp tempura. All of which were good. The California roll was not the best but I didn't expect much because this isn't a Japanese restaurant. For our meals, we had the fish tacos which my boyfriend seemed to really enjoy. I had the burrata salad with the addition of shrimp. The shrimp were okay, I'd probably never add them on again because it was $10 and they weren't that great. Here is what we ordered: - East meets West Raw Oysters - Filet Mignon - Linguine & Clams - Pork Milanese If there was a raw oyster eating contest, I would sign up. I can never get enough of raw oysters. Our order of East meets West raw oysters were super fresh, plump and huge. I loaded it up with the horseradish, gave it a couple of chews and let it slide down my throat. There's nothing like the taste of seawater in those shells, make sure to slurp up all the juices. Mmmmm...yes, I'm still smacking my lips from it. I loved my linguine and clams dish. The broth was thin and creamy, almost soup like. I should have asked for a spoon. The clams were huge and fat. It was tasty and perfectly seasoned. My companions enjoyed their dishes as well. Service was very attentive, lovely and friendly. They came by to ask us a few times how everything was. Because of the location, overlooking a lake, the menu prices will reflect that. The only bummer was that I wanted to order a virgin Pina Colada but the waiter said that it was already premixed with alcohol in it. So I just stuck with water. No biggie. Bartender w short bleached hair and glasses has a horrible attitude. Slamming plates, leaning over food and across bar in front of peoples faces- totally unnecessary rude and aggressive alpha energy not friendly at all not sure what she is trying to prove with that energy- taking food away before it's even done without asking- put a crumpled up napkin on top of the food and then when I said we weren't done with that takes the napkin off and goes to leave the plate, at that point no thank you. Be hospitable if you're in hospitality. Just weird off putting rude and lacking in common sense behavior. Please teach her how to say excuse me, please and thank you, especially if she's going to reach over the bar while putting her armpit practically in your face. Personal distance is a thing that should be applied especially in food settings. I'm giving 3 stars rather than 1 ONLY because of every other experience I've had here being decent. Coming into this development, I knew that my options were limited as a vegetarian. We visited anyway due to the welcoming ambiance, close proximity to home, and appetizing looking pizza that we saw online. The ambiance was so pleasant; we scored seats overlooking the water which was so relaxing on it's own! I had the pizza and fries, both which were under-satisfying. I might be a little bit of a pizza slob, but I found the pizza to be much better looking than tasting. The dough and sauce weren't to my liking... the dough was charred on the bottom, but not crisp as it appears. The cheese was too heavy/chunky for me, but my husband enjoyed that. 12/21/24 Sat at the bar. I have dined here many times. The food is decent and the restaurant vibe is ok. But where this restaurant falls short every time is the staff. The horrible staff experience starts as soon as you park your vehicle. The two valet staff playing on their phones to even acknowledge you when you pull up to the lot is ridiculous. Then the three hostesses playing on their phones to acknowledge your presence is another strike. Then the bartender with the sweater and glasses who barely makes eye contact when ordering and slams your glasses on the bar when delivered is icing on the cake. When I think it can't get worse for service it does in form of the manager who was hanging out with the loudest patron at the bar who kept slamming his fist on the bar while I was trying to eat. It was obvious to me that he didn't have the courage to tell the customers to calm down. The manager does not deserve to call himself a manger! He is only concerned in hitting on the female employees who seem uncomfortable when interacting with him. Point blank, I will never visit this restaurant again!! read more

The ambiance is always nice, the service was very good and I actually felt sorry for our server that the food served was so disgusting. I think he was truly embarassed by what was served to us. First of all, the clam chowder was so salty (and we love salt) that it practically choked us. Second, the nachos had some sort of greasy fried something on top of chips, refrigerator cold with a gloppy cream drizzled over the top. We couldn't even ascertain what it was. What happened to customary nachos with cheese, beans, jalapenos and the like? We sent it back and asked for traditional nachos and the brought us a bowl of plain chips and three little tiny bowls of gloppy gunk to pour on top. The server said the kitchen didn't know how to make traditional nachos. We sent that back too. Then I ordered a salmon poke bowl that was just ok. The salmon seemed fresh but there was so much gloppy sauce and glaze smothered on top that I was sick all night after I got home. While B2 Bistro was nice when it first opened, it is among the worst of New Jersey's restaurants. It's a shame. read more

I visited B2 on a Friday afternoon for a lunch date with friends. I had a reservation set. Upon arrival I was greeted by the staff, they were friendly. I was seated on the side of the building where i got a peak of the water but ask to move to the back where the view is way better. I ordered the crispy calamari and I loved the sauce it came with. It was good but something about the calamari was missing can't put my finger on it. I also order the baked Mac and cheese, and wow! I loved it. I believe the frozen daiquiri is new to the menu so I have that a try. I enjoyed it, wasn't too sweet or too strong. We had a super nice waiter, that made the experience nice. I can't recall when our beloved Sir John's restaurant was closed and razed, paving the way for what would become Lago, and now more recently B2 Bistro & Bar. Whenever it was, it kicked off an extended grieving period that goes on to this day. The good news is that B2 appears to have cracked the code needed to put the memories and legacy of Sir John's in the rear view mirror once and for all. B2 sits on an incredible piece of property, tucked in a wooded area with breathtaking views of Farrington Lake, and an outdoor patio that rivals anyplace else in Middlesex County. So why did it take so long for someone to get it right? Well, for one -- the food. Great views can only carry you so far for so long. If your food sucks, then it's just a short matter of time before you're out of business. This is where Lago failed. B2 actually has some really good food for all sorts of tastes and appetites, such as wood-fired pizzas, oversized sandwiches, chargrilled burgers, an eclectic choice of entrées, and even a decent selection of sushi. If you've been to an MJ's or a Tommy's before, it's a similar formula, only the food is more upscale. (And in some cases... more expensive.) Recommended dishes (so far): Classic wedge salad, crab cake, French dip, North Brunswick pizza Avoid: Porcini-dusted scallops (too mushy) If that's not enough to convince you to give them a try, then let's circle back to all things not food-related. B2 sunk a TON of money into this place to remove all hints of Lago's dreadful pre-existence. This place is gorgeous inside and out. They've built a huge rectangular bar that is the centerpiece of the restaurant, draped in lots of wood and metal. A giant glass garage door opens up to a beautiful patio to let the warm spring and summer air inside. No seat is a bad seat in the house. There are also private rooms that can be rented out for big events. Service is still a bit spotty as they train up new employees, but overall everyone is very nice and works hard to accommodate their tables. One thing to know is that the sushi bar, pizza station, and main kitchen are not in sync. So when you order items from these three parts of the menu, expect them to all come out at different times. Generally, the pizza and sushi seem to come out the fastest. I don't love this, because it means you and your party may end up eating at different times. But I gather it's pretty difficult to try and get all three kitchens to deliver everything at the same time. Anyway, give them a try! It's been too long since we've had a reliable establishment in this space. And with the nicer weather coming, that outdoor patio on the lake is sure to be packed. I've been coming to this place for the past year now, and always enjoy my time here. It's very cozy and welcoming. They have a great happy hour (in the bar area only), and good craft beer and wine selections. I usually opt for one of those instead of a cocktail, so I can't speak to their cocktail menu. They have pretty good pizza and burgers. And I absolutely was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi, which was also very good. The only reason for the four stars is that the service isn't always consistent. Though their food has always been consistent, and on point each and every time I have made a visit, the service has tended to be a bit of a gamble. Often times we have had to wait longer periods to place orders, or to get another round of drinks, even the check. So we now tend to come here on nights when we know we're not in a hurry to leave. read more

Okay so i really was expecting to give this place 5 stars from the reviews and photos however .. i just wasn't blown away with this place. I would come back because i did like some of the items. Spicy lobster roll - was amazing! Very good and tasty Skirt steak with sweet potatoes and green beans - the skirt i asked for medium well and it was definitely well done and burnt on top which made it hard for me to eat and totally lost the flavor Linguine with clams - my boyfriend said he thought it was okay and he wouldn't get it again. I tasted it and it was decent but could've had more flavor. The breads were very hard Lobster mac and cheese - i wish we would've had the presentation like it shows on the photos with the lobster shell in the Mac so that was disappointing. The Mac and cheese was good but could have more flavor. Lobster had a few fishy pieces that weren't pleasant. **Cocktails were good and decently strong Our waiter was pleasant , informative and wanted to make sure we were happy and please.
