This food is GOOD. Without a reservation, my party of 5 got a seat on a Saturday night in about 5-10 minutes -- not bad at all. Our table was large and round, seating all of us comfortably; other tables were nicely spaced away from our table, giving us a good amount of room. Honey BBQ Boneless Wings: Crispy and juicy, these were done very well with delicious blue cheese and ranch sauces. Both sauces were noticeably better than others I have tried, which really amplified the dish. Can't wait to try the bone-in wings next time. Fries: Crispy, salty, and fluffy on the inside -- delicious. These were so good we ordered another set for the table. With beer cheese, these were really pushed to the next level. Always ask for the beer cheese! Calamari: Very crispy and tender, these were great as well (a clear pattern of great food). I really liked the tomato-based sauce, as compared to the thai chili. Just went for Valentine's dinner was very dissatisfied with my meal. Had the fried fish tacos which had a terrible bitter taste to them. In trying to find out what was bitter if it was the fish or topping and letting my husband test the dinner also to make sure it wasn't just me about a half of one taco was eaten. After complaining to server and manager I was offered to get something else, I declined because the taste from the taco ruined my appetite. After receiving the check we noticed only half of the meal was deducted, we brought that to servers attention and was told that was all the manager was taking off. Instead of making a big deal we did pay the bill but felt the meal should have come off completely. Very disappointed and actually I never send food back but the taste was so bitter I had no choice. We celebrated a delayed Valentine's Day last night at B2 in Toms River. I was very surprised how sub par the experience was for a Sunday night. Not that it should be sub par any night but we can't even extend grace because it was "too busy"! It started with a cocktail that was ordered... Chocolate Espresso Old Fashion that calls for Bulliet bourbon, Kahlúa, espresso, chocolate & orange bitters. It had three coffee beans and an orange peel in it and tasted like pure bourbon. Not even a hint of Kahlúa! The New England Clam Chowder... while it had plenty of good sized clams, it was an overly starchy, peach colored veggie soup mush. The Pork Chop dish... 14oz pork chop with a port wine demi served with mushroom,onion, bacon, potato hash. There was NO Demi-glacé let alone any hint of port wine flavor. It had dark grill marks and was dry. The potato hash was completely void of bacon and had an over abundance of pearl onions. Also, the bathroom water temp is a lawsuit waiting to happen! The sinks are touchless, so there's no option to control the temperature and the hot water comes out scalding hot! read more

Food - What's a menu item with high profit but low popularity on the menu? B2 Bistro's SEAFOOD RISOTTO. I figured that out after going there unfortunately FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION. This will be my sixth time going to this B2 Bistro. This was the first but most horrific offense. Out of all the six times I have been to this restaurant, looking around the restaurant, I've never seen anyone with a Seafood Risotto... It just isn't popular. Well... I ordered it anyway and what I got, had I eaten it, would have possibly killed me. I started by taking a bite of a piece of shrimp. I leaned over the plate to pull the shrimp tail off and got a whiff of AMMONIA. IT WAS SO STRONG IT MADE MY EYES WATER. IT WAS THE SMELL OF A RANCID LOBSTER TAIL. IT LITERALLY SMELLED LIKE WHEN YOU WAIT TOO LONG TO CHANGE A PET RODENT ( HAMSTER, GUINEA PIG) CAGE. The reason why I chose to write about this is because of how it was handled. The waitress refused to say that the lobster was no good after taking a smell of it herself and wincing hard. She had taken the lobster back to the kitchen and brought a "fresh one" out. Well... That one smelled rancid as well. The manager comes to our table and asked us what happened. He said he hadn't smelled the lobster but he'll go to the back and talk to the chef. RULE OF THUMB MANAGER AND CHEF: Uncooked spoiled seafood can have sour, rancid, fishy, or ammonia odors. These odors become stronger after COOKING. If you smell sour, rancid, or fishy odors in raw or cooked seafood, DO NOT SERVE IT OR EAT IT. If you smell either a fleeting or persistent AMMONIA odor in cooked seafood, DO NOT SERVE IT OR EAT IT. If you will be visiting B2 Bistro, Stick to the specials, appetizers and sushi. Why???? Because this is what's popular and it is constantly coming out of the kitchen...as opposed to unpopular items that sit in a refrigerator and go bad. Service- waitress, manager, chefs all in denial. We booked a baby shower for Saturday July 27. Shannon arranged everything for us and communicated via email prior to the event. Everything was set up and ready to have us come in with the balloon lady and our last minute decorations. They were accommodating when I asked to change out some tables and helped me set up all my last minute details. Service was spot on and they were attentive and professional. What an amazing dinner we had! Kristen was our server and went above and beyond to make our meal perfect. We each had a glass of Silk and Spice wine followed by oysters and for our entrees we had the meatball grilled cheese and the surf and turf. The wine is one of our favorites and Portuguese so we were excited to see it! The oysters were east coast and delicious! The food was 5/10. The general service was 7/10 but the manager was 2/10. Our food took a long while to come, and when asked the server just sent us the manager who came over with an aggressive attitude. Told us that "when you're hungry it can feel like a long time but the computer says the order was placed 16 minutes ago." Well we place our order 35 minutes prior, and just wanted to see if we were going to be served or were forgotten. The manager stood her ground by telling us we were wrong. That the computer couldn't make a mistake. She offered us no kind words or resolutions. She was rude. Then the food came out. The hot foods were room temperature at best and two of our orders were wrong. I can't recommend the place, but understand if our experience was a rarity. However, the terrible customer service shown by the manager was uncalled for. An apology for waiting and a few nice words would have placated us well enough, but she instead decided to stand her ground with inaccurate data. I would not be shocked to find out that she is a tough person to work for and has had issues keeping staff with aggression like that. We sat at the bar and the service was wonderful! I ordered the Pork Belly dinner that was so good. It came with the best risotto and dressed greens and a very large portion. I took half of mine home. My husband ordered the Lamb Cheesesteak. He loved it and said it had all the flavors of a Gyro but so much better. His fries were killer too!
