I went through my home warranty company to find out why our unit wasn't blowing cool air in the 106 degree weather we have and they sent this company out. The technician said he couldn't confirm if there was a leak or not but he added freon. That night is stopped blowing cool air again and so we called the company the next morning to advise to which they advised they could not come out until the following day. I told the tech that I would contact my warranty company to ask if another company could come out sooner and if so, would cancel this request with them. I called back at 3pm and left a message that we would like to move forward and understand the timeframe in which another tech could come out the following day. Today, the technician called this morning and told me that they received a cancel notification from my warranty company and would not be able to provide service. After speaking to my warranty company, they received a call from the technician at B3 yesterday at 330pm advising that they would not be able to fix the problem for the homeowner and requested they cancel the order and send to a different contractor. To be mislead into thinking my warranty company made the decision delayed the request and work being done and I do not recommend using this company if integrity is important to you. read more

B3 refrigeration was the only HVAC who was willing to come over in order to install a solid state contactor that I bought as our old one was making a lot of noise when engaging. Other companies didn't know about that or weren't familiar with it and plainely refused to do it or wanted to install a old style. B3 sent Tim over and even though he never installed one before he was smart enough to figure it out and installed it in no time while explaining what he was doing. I'm a DIY person and I was thrilled on how he explained things and we had a good talk while he installed the contactor. Summer is almost over now and the new contactor acted like a champ. Poor service poor integrity especially since I agreed to wait 4 days for an appointment understanding it's a busy time of year. B3 was sent out as the first contractor on an AC home warranty claim. They thoroughly assessed the issue and notified us that we most likely had a Freon leak, but would need to come back the next day to do some tests. Tim came out the second day and gave it to me straight. We had a leak in the coil and the costs of repair would be substantial considering the age and type of unit we had. The home warranty tried to delay everything and made our experience a nightmare, but Tim was in constant contact with me the entire time. After deciding to take a payout from the home warranty to buy a new unit, B3 was the easy choice. We were able to get a great deal on a new 16 seer 3.5 ton Train unit and the install took just over 4 hours. So far everything has worked perfectly and the home cools exponentially faster compared to the old unit. Couldn't be happier with our decision. Our rooftop AC was blowing loud and started making some unpleasant noises. Every time it came on/off, it was on the verge of waking up my 1-year-old from his nap (dreadful)! We called B3 and Keith came over to listen to make sure it wasn't our rigid duct system. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some options. Katie sent us a proposal with multiple options (because I'm a pain in the a** and had to know)! In the end, we decided to ditch the rooftop system and get a high efficiency Trane split system and OMG I have never been happier with a purchase. It's so quiet and cool! And the variable speed system means it's not blowing at full capacity when it's on. It's gentle. Working from home during the pandemic, this is a game changer--my ears are happy. Keith Bender of this small (3-4 person) company is nice enough to attract business, however will not thoroughly check out applications for product installations. After selling us a Trane product, upon delivery found it not to fit allocated space and offered a "switch" to lesser brand. This should have sent the first red flag to how his business is ran. Accepting the change he informed us it would have same parts warranty. What he will not do is offer a labor warranty, because "he believes", as we found out later, "they are not worth it". It seems though it should still be the customers choice. We are now less than 2 years into a new system and have had 2 repairs totaling over $700. The first repair was a leaking coil in the heat exchanger which he repaired at $424 refrigerant and labor. When the pan started leaking water months later at beginning of cooling season he would not return calls, emails or texts for over 3 weeks. Then as we called from a friends cell phone (different #) he answers stating he has been very busy. Makes us wonder what he may have known about the leaking cracked pan under the coil that B3 replaced. Since then we have had another company replace the cracked pan at the tune of $300. We have not had a long relationship with the new service company, but have decided that for a large purchase such as a home HVAC system it would have been wiser to purchase from a larger company. A larger company who may have built a local reputation, have an answering service to return communication and a history of standing behind their work would have been a wiser choice. We bought an older home with an equally old AC unit, but it's still in good condition and does the job, most of the time (they don't make 'em to last like this anymore!). Every so often it will have a problem, usually a freon leak or some other small repair. The problem was we had a difficult time finding someone to actually repair it. Most technicians wouldn't bother trying to find parts for it, or simply didn't know how to work on it, and they constantly tried to talk us into spending thousands of dollars to put in a new unit, which we simply couldn't afford. After years of frustration dealing with technicians like this, a relative told us to try B3 Refrigeration. We have now had three different repair experiences with B3 and each time we have been impressed. Not only do they know what they are doing, but they have never tried to sell us something uneccessarily, although they have given us a quote on a new unit (because we asked), which was way more reasonable than all previous quotes. Instead of giving us the hard sell, they identify the actual problem, fix it, and have everything up and running again in no time, at a reasonable expense. These are honest people and they work hard and get the job done. When we are ready to get a new AC we will definitely hire them for the task!
