Banh mi garlic shrimp and house egg roll
    Megan P.

This place is so underrated. I didn't even know the old liquor store closed, but I'm glad they do because this will probably be my new go to spot of boba and banh mi. I got the ube milk tea boba and the strawberry matcha latte and wow these were better than some regular boba shops !! And they're cheaper! We got the two drinks and garlic shrimp, egg rolls and combination banh mi. Everything was very fresh and tasted home made. Staff is so friendly they make you feel like family and I really hope they do well. When we went the place was completely empty and I don't understand why. Maybe they need to better advertise but honestly are so good. Must try!

I'm addicted! I swear I'm not being paid by them, I just really love this place. They've revamped their counter since last time I visited and it's a lot nicer having more space for a line to form and not block the door. The owner's son was so proud to tell me that he helped his dad to build this new "heavy" countertop. Such a sweet family, always so happy to be of service. Got 2 different Bahn Mi, Spring Rolls, and a Matcha Latte for only $34!!! The food and drinks are always SO ONO, and the owner even told us they're coming out with new dishes like stir-fried noodles soon. I'll probably be back here to report on their new dishes soon!

Such a hidden gem in wahiawa!! Have been there a dozen times now and it's always delicious and consistent. My current favorite is the Salted Coffee & BBQ Pork Sandwich. They offer a sandwich and drink combo for only $14! Unheard of these days, especially for the quality and freshness that Happy Chef offers. Owners are a young friendly couple that go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied. Highly recommended!!

I have been wanting to come here for a while and I am so glad get a chance to come today! They serve vietnamese food, pho, sandwich, summer rolls and drinks, even ice cream! They even have a section selling frozen seafoods and dried foods as well. Spoke to the owner and she says there will be more foods items coming within the next couple weeks. Get to tries their beef noodle soup today, is so tasty and the portion is huge, get to take home some cause I can't finish all by myself , definitely come back to try more!

Now, is it actually the best? Food is subjective, Brah. But let me tell you my truth. The burger itself? A solid 5 out of 5. The bun is incredibly soft. It almost feels like it was steamed low-key like a Krystal burger, even though it's probably not. And the patty? Super flavorful. It honestly reminds me of a really good, seasoned meatloaf in the best way possible. I absolutely love it, even if your Auntie or Unko might disagree. The taste and the price point are honestly unbeatable. So why only 4 stars overall? Because I am a simple human, and my DNA dictates that a burger must be accompanied by fries. If you don't mind chasing a legendary burger with a bowl of saimin instead of fries, this place is an absolute must-try. We arrived around 1230 and there were only a couple other tables filled. The space has around 10 tables and it's very nice and cheery inside. We ordered pork pad Thai $15.59, chicken pad kee mow $15.59 and spring rolls, $12.99. The wait was not very long and the spring rolls came out first. There were 6 of them accompanied by lettuce, mint, cucumbers and a sweet sauce. The spring rolls were very tasty and had a good amount if filling. I loved eating it with the veggies. The pad Thai came out first and we dug in. It had really good flavor. Pad Thai is normally on the sweeter side and while this was sweet, it wasn't overly sweet. Next up the pad kee mow came out. The flavors are night and day compared to the pad Thai which is why I like it. The flavor was fantastic! The basil really stood out and it was just the right amount of spice. I love the wide noodles in the dish. My honey said he actually preferred my pad kee mow to his dish. The portions are big and we brought home half of each meal. The server was so nice and sweet. She even gave us a tarot tapioca pudding to go. I've never been a huge taro fan but omg this was delicious. It had a nice coconut flavor and there were chunks of taro it in. I would definitely eat that again. I'm so glad we stopped by and have finally found a Thai place close to home. Before we left we were already discussing what we'd eat next time we go. Definitely be back!

When I asked the young guy at the counter, his face lit up and he said, no question, order the misoyaki! The idea that a teenager or 20-something dude could light up and be animated about the food blew me away! His recommendation was PERFECT! It was a delightful dish that's been decribed by other reviewers. The fish was perfectly cooked; moist and flavorful. The corn hijiki was delicious. The highlight was the Japanese quick pickled cucumber slices. They were slightly crisp and super flavorful. I couldn't have asked for anything more in this dish. It was outstanding! The serving size was big enough to split and feed us amply.. I ordered the Nishime veg to go. When we visited Japan last year, I became a huge fan of root veg simmered in a dashi soy broth. I adore burdock and lotus roots. This had good flavor although sweeter than I would have preferred, and the veg was way too soft. However, it was a large portion for $10.50 and tasted healthy and heart warming. Ambiance? Most people are ordering take-out here although there are several tables at which to eat. The place is immaculate with no dusty decor. The origami cranes hanging from the ceiling is a lovely touch. We enjoyed hanging out and eating here. Even though I live in Waikiki, I would totally come back here as the food and service is that good!

I sat down on one of the 9 tables and looked over the menu and bam my eyes became fixated on the beef curry combo. I thought the beef was going to be thinly sliced but to my surprise it was chunks of tender beef. The curry was on the sweeter side which I actually prefer so it was a 10 out of 10 for me. The Ramen noodles has a nice chew to it. The slice of pork was on the thicker side but it tasted a little salty which may have affected the broth as it was neither a hit or miss but right in the middle. Needless to say I ate all the noodles and left most of the broth. I woild give it 7 out of 10. The pan fried gyoza was good. The wrapping had a nice texture and chew stuffed with pork, onion, chives ginger and something else but it tasted good. 9 out of 10. Service was really good. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was given a menu and water. Never had to ask for a refill on water. 10 out of 10 for service. 4 stars for Mililani Restaurant!…read more The food was cooked really well, but everything needed salt, so the flavors never got to shine the way they could have. Which is honestly a bummer because if they had seasoned Bill's Fish & Chips... dude... it would've easily been the best we've ever had! The other day, my family stopped by Mililani Restaurant after my son recommend the fish & chips. Since I'm a sucker for variety - and I hadn't eaten here in about 20 years - I also ordered the Mini Fried Saimin and Mini Korean Chicken. I love seeing each restaurant's take on these local favorites. Bill's Fish & Chips: WOW. The full order is HUGE! You get three giant pieces of cod over a mountain of shoestring fries. The fish was cooked beautifully - super crispy on the outside while staying moist and flaky inside. But oh Lord... it needed salt! The fries had a great crisp too, although they did have that darker, old-oil flavor that was a little hard to ignore. Since I'm a foodie who likes to come prepared, I happened to have lemon wedges with me lol!... and man, did that take the fish to another level. Hey, don't judge! (I'm pretty sure my family was embarrassed... but ask me if I care. Hahaha! Jk... kinda.) We all agreed that if they had simply salted the fish right out of the fryer, this would've easily been a 5 star dish. Mini Fried Saimin: Can we talk about that portion size for a mini?! Super generous! Unfortunately, this one also needed more seasoning, and the oil flavor came thru more than the other ingredients. I know it's fried, so some oil flavor is expected, but it kinda overpowered everything else. A little more shoyu would've gone a long way. Since fried saimin is usually one of my favorite things to order (local girl at heart!), I'd give this one about 3 stars. Mini Korean Chicken: The sauce was delicious and reminded me of Sugoi's Garlic Chicken. The only downside was that the chicken itself wasn't hot. It tasted like it may have been cooked earlier and then portioned out for my plate. The service was friendly, helpful with recommendations, and they packed everything securely. Our order was accurate, and the prices felt fair for the amount of food you get. They definitely have a great variety for a neighborhood plate lunch spot. Would we make the drive all the way from Ewa Beach just for this? Probably not. But if we're already in the area, we'd absolutely stop by again. One last heads up... if you're planning to dine in, be prepared to leave smelling like the fryer. The ventilation could definitely use some help.. we all went straight to the shower when we got home!
