Looked under the slicer, had splashes and spots, dirt, crusted old stuff stuck on the machine, and i know that's been there for months. It was absolutely disgusting. And around the glass shield where the metal part was, it has stuff there too... the produced was in bad shape too. I took the sub and left, I wasn't going to eat it. So gave it to my ugly as* neighbor, I hate in disguise. Never again. They need to ventilate that place, clorox bleach the heck out. The blood, old raw meat smell was just nasty. ‍

He was very pleased with his donburi and said that he thinks it was the spiciest ahi he's ever had. The ghost pepper sauce for the Hellfire Wings was a stand out for us, and we got a to-go box for the last wings just to take the sauce home with it. Let's talk about the "Sub Chef." Way too nice. Incredibly welcoming. It's clearly a tactic to lower your defenses before they hit you with the best sub on the planet. I've been a loyal Storto's fan for years, but Sub Shack just made them look like amateur hour. This sub was 1000x better. It's disrespectful, honestly. The real kicker? The location. I live in town, and this place is a trek. It is deeply inconvenient that I now have to factor a road trip into my weekly schedule because my brain refuses to eat a sub from anywhere else. I say this because upon entering it's like a food court, as first you see Teapresso Bar with full offerings of drinks you then see an insane selection of baked goods more than some small bakeries offer along with plate lunch, smoked meat, pizza and even roast pork handing under the warmer...all this before I enter the grocery sections you see graduation leis, UH merchandise and various grab and go treats as well. It's a beautiful supermarket that nice and clean very well organized with displayed items neatly placed and the vibe here is just so calm and friendly I was just very impressed with it all knowing that I can purchase items already made before entering to shop is quite deceiving and tempting but is nice to know for busy folks that they do have you covered whether you're in a rush or just need a single ingredient this is the place to go and support all things local. (This particular yelp review is only about their less than honest practices. I went recently and they had a sign (I should have taken a pic) that said bentos different varietys $6.49..but when you go to the register each bento is priced different. My friend pointed this out to them so they honored his $10 bento giving it to him for $6.49 and said they let management know and they would fix it. I went to check if they changed or pulled this very misleading bait and switch sign down.. which they did not. A very dishonest practice and also against the law. I took the sign down and when I returned 1 hour later they put up the same sign again which proves it wasnt a mistake it was a dishonest tactic to cheat the public their patrons. They just want you to grab it because its advertised as a good deal and if you dont notice you get rung up a higher price. My friend said depending on which bento the prices vary from 8 - more than $10. So if they purposely do this in the deli they could be using this tactic throughout the store... Its a beautiful market with the majority being good people but this practice aint cool and once trust is broken its hard to get it back. I am hoping thier HR dept comments we will see.
