Met a friend for lunch and boy was I happy we went here. Had a bowl of the classic Bab with spicy pork. The owner was so helpful as it was my first time there. The sauces were excellent and the Miso soup was great. The atmosphere is clean and minimalistic but it makes for a perfect place to have a meal. There are so many variations that I have to go back and try some of them.

Make your own Korean bowls. The customer service is great and the restaurant was clean with plenty of room to eat it. They also are able to do take out ever easy. The miso soup was average and so was the chicken/ bowl that I ordered. The sauces were good and I did like their recommendation to mix the sauces. I just don't think it is the place for me, not sure if I would come back again. Also the price of the food was amazing, very reasonable.

Love this place! The flavor is so good, even without the large array of sauces to choose from. I got the classic with the bulgogi beef. It comes with white rice, veggies and beef. You also get a hot cup of miso soup which was welcoming on a cold night. We used to go to Bab all the time when it was in South Reno. Miss it being so close!

The first thing I noticed when I walked into Bab Cafe is how cute the menu is.. not only charming, but also easy to follow! And I was surprised by just how much food came in my box. And my box came with a cup of miso soup!! Which was delicious!!! Perfect for drinking out of a cup. Also, the kimchi and my bowl/box were also delightful. The food here is so light and refreshing, yet I couldn't even finish my box just based on the sheer amount they gave me! Thank you Bab Cafe & staff for the great food & relaxing vibes!!

Excellent place. I love Korean food, so I'd go as far as calling it a hidden gem. It's a simple place that specializes in customizable Korean rice bowls. It has a small menu but that means they are confident in what they do sell. We ordered the K Animal fries, the beef japchae, and rice bowls (spicy pork classic and bulgogi beef classic). Bowls came with miso soup. They have a selection of sauces at the counter to spicy up your bowls. Taste? Great. Cost? Great bang for the buck. Service? Very friendly. Cleaness? Pretty darn clean. Ambiance? Relaxing. Did I enjoy everything? Yepp. 5/5, will be back.

How have I not known this place was downtown?! I was shocked to learn they have been around for 9 years and have been at this downtown location for 6 of them. A friend and I were planning to have dinner somewhere else downtown and it was closed for maintenance. This has been on my list to try for a long time, so we decided to come here instead! We parallel parked in some metered spots right out front. We came on a Thursday evening and there was no wait, we were the only ones there. The staff walked us through the menu and what their most popular items are. You order at the counter then pick your own table. I went with a small classic bowl with bulgogi beef and a side of K-animal style french fries. The total was $20 and I thought it was a good deal since it came out as a large amount of food. Everything was fantastic! I used all three of the main sauces and they blended well with the flavors of my dish. The beef was tender and well marinated. The size small entree still felt like plenty for one person, especially with one of the appetizers. The dish had a great ratio of veggies to rice. It even came with a side of Miso soup! The fries were crisp even with several toppings piled onto them. All the ingredients tasted fresh and flavors were spot on. Our food came out quickly, staff were friendly, and everything was high quality. I'll definitely be back!

On our roadtrip we stayed in the Riverwalk district of Reno at a resort. During our visit Reno had a heat advisory. We refrained from being outdoors. This was located down the block. We enjoy Korean food. Bab is Korean for rice. The cafe offers rice bowls, ramen, and some starters. We decided on takeout here. Ordering- * hubby got kim chee fried rice with spicy pork as his protein. * I got japchae with bulgogi as my protein. Also comes with a cup of miso soup. You can squirt additional sauce over your rice bowl. Five varieties to choose from. The staff suggested eating our rice bowls without the sauce to get the full umami. He was right. Our rice bowls hit the spot during Reno's extreme heat advisory.

First time bab cafe in 3 years. The service is great friendly staffs, and the owner seems nice. I got the classic, tofu and eggs, it also comes with miso soup. It's good, still tasted the same from 3 years ago. The last time I came in this shop I had beef. I will definitely be back and be recommending bab to friends and family

I love bab. Every single time. The bowls are consistent and very filling. I appreciate that I can add sauces on my own and create the flavor palette that works best for me.

Walk up counter to order- a little clunky but finally was acknowledged and service was kind and breezy from there . Interior of this place is kitschy and cute, big TVs telling you how to enjoy the food and I liked the display wall by the larger seating area showcasing Korean cook books. My bowl was pretty good- tofu was well prepared, egg was a little overdone for my liking but they didn't ask how I wanted it.. also don't skimp on the sauces, you're going to want them, I took my bowl to go and wish I got more sauce.

First of all, let me say I have been a big fan of Bab Cafe since they first opened. Love that they are a fast-casual spot and located downtown. I went today to get my usual Classic Tofu Bibimbap. Serving size is large in my opinion for the "regular" size. I normally eat half and eat the other half later, that says something. The bowl comes with a cup of miso soup on the side, which pairs wonderfully with the bowl. There are 4 sauces to add at your discretion which includes a spicy mayo *mild*, teriyaki *medium*, gochujang *spicy*, and a really spicy sauce. I love to add a little bit of all the sauces in my bowl. The bowl comes with a great assortment of veggies, and your choice of protein & rice. I believe at one point in time they offered thinly sliced eggs in their classic bowl but they no longer do, which is too bad as I thought it was a great balance with all the flavors. I would like to see it offered again in the future. I requested that they add a fried egg in my bowl today (but at an additional cost) it was great. I am no bibimbap expert, but have found that today and my recent visits I have had my bowls served "cool/room temperature," which I find the flavors combine together better when served hot. I may request that they warm up my bowl if that happens again in the future. But overall, highly recommend if you are looking for a delicious Korean bowl!

Classic bibimbap (Beef Bulgogi as protein)

Out of all bibimbap that I had here in Reno, I think Bab Café is the most authentic one. I had the classic bibimbap with bulgogi as protein. The mix vegetables (cucumber, reddish, carrots, and etc) were cut/sliced correctly, and they tasted so refreshing. The Bulgogi is not too sweet, and I can taste the soy and sesame oil in it. We also ordered Pork Kimchi soup and chicken wings -- they were all prepared perfectly. The service is good too. They were friendly and kept the restaurant clean. I love the fact that there are books shelves, mostly about Korean recipe books, and other Korean books that would introduce Reno to Korea's vibrant culture. I will come back here! I love the food and the ambiance!

When visiting Reno, I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a delightful and relaxing lunch…read morespot to definitely check out "Süp". Located directly on S. Virginia St and adjacent to St. Lawrence Ave in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Reno, Süp has served up delicious and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups dating back to 2007. This place has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally got to experience what it was all about. Since this is in a fairly busy commercial part of town, it can be a bit tricky to find parking. However, we were able to park only a block away and this was during the afternoon on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 12:15pm. After making the short way to the business, I absolutely loved the exterior aesthetics and layout were represented. The business itself mimics a house complete with a large front patio area that actually snakes around to the side of the house for the more comfortable Reno days. The wooden tables with plastic chairs and covered tents to shield off the sun were a very nice touch. The inside also offers very generous indoor seating complete with ample space for a single person, a couple, or a family. Their menu are digitally presented on LED TVs complete with some of their specials that are handwritten on a chalkboard. My lady and I both decided to order sandwiches to get our fuel and energy for the day. I went with their "Char-Grilled Steak Baguette"; this came complete with their bistro steak drizzled with chimichurri sauce and topped with caramelized onions, New York white cheddar & sharp cheddar cheese and served on a cheddar poppy seed baguette. My lady went with their "Reno Deli"; this offered salami, pepperoncini & pesto layered with spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and aioli on toasted sourdough bread. Both of our sandwiches came with a side house salad. Once given our number (we got Tahoe St), we decided to sit outside and take full advantage of the weather (as it was a perfect 78°F). What I particularly like is that the ambiance is the perfect vibe for daydreaming, people watching, and enjoying the simplicity that a city like Reno offers. Both our sandwiches arrived in roughly 10 minutes and were presented on white porcelain plates. My sandwich was made to perfection as the cheddar baguette securely held the fillings quite nicely. There was a lot of seasoned steak as the other sauces were not too overpowering. And considering the size of this, it got me quite full as I wasn't hungry until much later in the day. I will say that if you're looking for a reputable small business that offers healthy fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, amazing ambiance in a very desirable area of Reno, I highly recommend giving "Süp" a try. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, bowls, and soups are all wonderful choices as they focus on farm-fresh ingredients. And if time allows, I highly encourage everyone to eat here as I felt right at home during my 45-minute stay. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sunday but are open Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm. With that said and done, I am giving Süp a perfect five-star review.

19 years running and still one of the most beloved restaurants in all of Northern Nevada!…read more Is it the scratch made suits? Perhaps The always smiling and overly friendly staff? Or is it that epic side salad that comes with every sandwich? I like to think that it's a combination of everything above that makes this place a spot that people return to time and time again. For me, it's the friendly faces and the family owned lives that this place is dudes which bring me here from time to time. And the warmer Mo I don't often think about it, but they do have incredibly welcoming patio with lots of shade and great salads and sandwiches if you don't feel like soup. But of course there's always an awesome option of having a cup of soup with your sandwich just to round out the experience. From what I can tell, not a whole lot has changed about this spot and that's with good reason. The people have spoken over and over and over again in this community loves this restaurant just the way it is. When you come here, you can't go wrong with the grilled cheese and classic tomato soup but if you're feeling adventurous, try the soup sampler and taste a few at once to pick your favorite then find out when it's on the menu so you can plan your return based around it. Me I'm a sandwich guy and my most recent visit. I had to try the barbecue chicken on the jalapeño cheddar roll. Chicken with succulent, not overly sauce with light spice and the fresh veggies on top made for a really nice sandwich. The bread was a little bit thick and I ended up eating most of it open face so in the future, I'd say if there's an option for this barbecue chicken to go on top of the salad, you won't miss there. Speaking of salad that cute little side salad that comes with all the sandwiches is so good. Their house made white balsamic vinaigrette is just absolute fire and no meal here is complete without it. 19 years in and Sup is still hot. When's the last time you visited?

This time, the dumplings were okay, but I remember them being better during my previous visit. I also recall them serving noodles, which were not available this time. I didn't confirm that myself, but it did make me curious. That being said, the dumplings were still decent and definitely hit the spot. The real draw of this place, however, is the outdoor venue they share with Abby's Hwy 40 Bar. It's a very inviting space to enjoy your food, relax, and watch some TV. The World Cup was on during our visit, which made for a fun atmosphere. I'd probably want to confirm whether the dumplings are made in-house before ordering them again, but the outdoor setting alone makes this a pleasant place to stop and spend some time.
