I only ordered off the "Authentic Szechuan Gourmet" menu and highly recommend you do too! I wanted to venture out a little so I got fuqi feipian (spicy cold beef and tripe) and it was incredible, as were the wok fried green beans. The cumin lamb and chicken wings were also full of flavor, and well executed. The service was pleasant and very accommodating to the group, we had a person with a peanut allergy and they let us order stuff with the peanuts on the side, and knew about the allergens in the chili oil. My friend and I ordered, Sizzling Triple Delight and Sesame Chicken. Let me tell you... The meal came out on a sizzling hot plate. The shrimp, beef and chicken was an explosion of flavors in our mouth. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Now, the sesame chicken sauce was very delicious, but I must say the Chicken could have been better. Some pieces were soft and tasty but some pieces were not soft as if the chicken was not fresh. I went back to Tang's Kitchen for dinner. As soon as we walked in, Barbie, the hostess and waitress, greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel so welcome. When we ordered, Barbie did an amazing job explaining the specials and taking our orders. Our meals arrived hot and perfectly cooked. The food was delicious and flavorful. Each entree is a shareable size. Big thanks to Barbie for being such a great multitasker and never getting flustered while busy. I completely forgot how good this restaurant is. Went here for lunch during our Reno trip. It was fairly busy but there were open tables and we were seated quickly. We both had the lunch special. I got the chicken with crispy walnuts with an eggroll, fried rice and hot and sour soup. Soup was good but it was spicy. Eggroll was just ok- filling was mushy and outside was more crumbly than crispy. Chicken was breaded and fried and then covered with a creamy sauce- not very healthy but it was tasty. Fried rice was fine. Husband got the same soup and sides but his entree was spicy pork with vegetables and he liked it. It was a good choice for lunch and we had lots of left overs. What a hidden Gem! My mom took me to Tang's Kitchen, and oh what a treat that was, thank you mama! We started off with the lunch special, I ordered orange chicken (nice and crispy), and mom ordered the Mongolian chicken, fantastic. Each plate came with a choice of soup: hot and sour or egg drop soup, a large helping of rice and a super delicious egg roll. I will be returning to this place for future family meals. The atmosphere is very nice and easy-going. It has a traditional Chinese restaurant feel and the food the customer service and everyone involved are exceptional. Thank you Tangs Kitchen. I decided to try Tangs kitchen for a quick lunch, although it was typically after the lunch hours. They were not super busy, but the one waiter they had was really hustling which I appreciated. I ordered the hot and sour soup with the chicken and mixed vegetables lunch special, which came with the eggroll and fried rice . I enjoyed all of the flavors that are very typical of this dish and it was a good portion with me even taking a small box home for the next day. The Rice had a bit too much soy sauce. I would say in it this day and it was a bit salty for me, but other than that, the flavors were wonderful in both the hot and sour and the chicken dish. read more

So far so good. This is a new place in the same location where the other Chinese restaurant closed. It's nice inside. Service was great. Food was delicious. I had the closest thing to orange chicken that I could find on the lunch special menu...I ordered generals chicken with no spice. It WAS sweet enough for me even though I am good with REALLY sweet stuff. Some people do not like too much sweet...they would like this a lot. My friend ordered sweet & sour chicken. She said it was great but that she thought I got more...I'm sure there is more chicken in generals chicken because there are no veggies. I was kinda envious of her onion and pineapple. (:-) I posted pics of each so you can see the sweet and sour chicken sauce is regular red sauce. Generals chicken sauce is different. They are very generous with the fried rice. I was actually hungry but only could eat half my meal. I had the rest for dinner. I would probably rate the food 4 stars. The service is always pleasant, food excellent; the restaurant is rarely if ever busy. It's in a dive-y looking shopping center tucked in a little quiet spot you'd probably never notice just driving by, next to the Salvation Army thrift off Prater and McCarran. Once everybody discovers how good and affordable this place is, be cool and go on a Tuesday or on your lunch break or something ... don't ruin my secret Saturday night "might or might not have just hit the dispensary and need tasty cheap eats now" spot, please. We weren't sure how things were going to turn out after Soochow closed. Happy to report that everything was excellent. They have revamped the dining room somewhat. New owners have many new and unique menu items more focused on Szechuan cuisine. The new chef plates everything beautifully, and we both enjoyed all the apps and entrées. Waitress was nice, checking in frequently to make sure everything was good. All of the fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection. They just need to get the plumbing thing fixed with the scent, and it's five stars. Almost like a ptrap problem, it was there when Soochow owned it as well. read more

What a great little find in Sparks. We walked in around 2:30 and were warmly greeted. The ambience is lovely and feels very clean. Water was delivered to the table quickly and once we ordered the food came just as fast. I had the mongolian chicken, which was very tasty, fresh and not too oily. I had hot and sour soup, which was piping hot and a little spicy (which I liked). The lunch came with an egg roll and rice (you could get friend or white rice). We were tooling around Sparks when we decided to find a place to have lunch and thought Tang's looked good based on the reviews on Yelp and boy were we glad we stopped in. The first thing we noticed was how nice the place looked. Kind of old school and new mixed together that really worked. Food is greasy. Service was poor. 3 out of 4 dishes we ordered were wrong. When we pointed it out, the bill was not adjusted therefore making it higher than expected. If you have a shrimp allergy you better tell the server multiple times cause we still got shrimp in one of the dishes. You have to pay extra for white rice with your meal too. It's overpriced in general. I just wasn't impressed with the food at all. Very disappointing since this place was highly rated, but found through other reviews that the ownership has changed hands. Definitely won't go back. There are plenty of better Chinese restaurants in Reno/Sparks. read more

I have now been to Tang's three times and waited to review till now to be 100% fair. I know they are newly opened and somewhat hidden away. In the old Soochow's location, the inside has been totally revamped and looks clean and fresh. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. The prices are great and that is smart, gives them an advantage when a person is deciding where to spend their money. I usually spend the same as elsewhere but enjoy more options for that same money. My last trip, we ordered the wor won ton soup and chicken chow fun. The soup was full of flavor, plenty of won tons, veggies, chicken, shrimp and beef. This is something I would want to order every time I go there, it was that good. The chicken chun fun was delicious, everything about it was right, nice thin pieces of chicken and lots of flavorful noodles. Their lunch specials offer a wide variety of choices, come with your choice of soup, your choice of rice and an egg roll, many are just $9.99. I now look forward to trying different options having already tried the chow mein, the Mongolian and Kung Pao. My only issue with the Kung Pao was the red chilis are chopped up quite small rather than being whole so more tricky to not eat too many of them. A minor thing though, didn't keep me from coming back. This place is now on my list of new favorites and I will certainly be back and bringing my friends! Tasted and looked like fast food Chinese. The main dishes don't come with rice. General Shrimp was thinly breaded. Chow mein was dry and extremely over salty. The crab rangoon was the worst, I've never seen such small amount of cream cheese before and it was immediately soggy. read more

Very fast, very delicious. Great value. The lunch special Mongolian Beef checked out. It came with fried rice, egg roll, & egg flower soup. The Sizzling Beef with Scallops was a great dish. Piles of veggies and large scallops on top of a bunch of beef. Great flavor, ate every piece of it. This place has the legit Chinese taste with excellent portion sizes. I ordered to go, was ready in under 15 minutes. I see they are on DoorDash too. My only regret is not ordering more egg rolls and trying 4-5 star heat. I also forgot to request utensils.
