OH MY GOODNESS! What a beautiful and quaint little establishment! I loved it! When I walked in I was taken by the ambiance and the decor, a guy working there told me that the owner lived in the Middle East and that is where the inspiration came from for the decor. It's so cute. This is a great place to study, chill, gather your thoughts, read, ruminate, revel in the beauty of a coffee shop that makes you *for a moment* be whisked away and forget about the current global situation. The drinks here are amazing as well! I got a drink that had espresso, oat milk, honey, and cinnamon on ice. It was superb, I honestly wanted to order three more to go for the road lol. They also have military discount! And the stickers they have are also a cute bonus. Just go here! You won't regret it. Wow! I was so excited to find this coffee shop. If you know me, you know I love specialty flavors. Pizza, ice cream, coffee - if you have unique flavors, you have my attention! Baba Java has just that. The shop is a brightly lit place with great natural light. They have a pastry case and a generous offering of unique coffee beverages. I chose the Maple Latte and two savory rolls with a delicious tomato dipping sauce because I was quite hungry. I was so impressed with the flavor of both. I can't wait to go back and try something new. The only thing I feel this shop could do better is use silverware instead of plastic ware, but over all, I loved it! read more

I had an amazing cup of coffee at Baba Java. I had a hibiscus rose latte and it was heavenly. I decided on a lemon blueberry scone to go with it and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is typical coffeehouse with lots of chairs, tables, and even a few couches. The noise level was pretty quiet. Baba Java is a welcome addition to the Riverchase Galleria area! The atmosphere was clean and spacious with lots of light. This is a minor detail, but I was pleasantly surprised they display all their prices to include tax. I didn't get to try any of their baked goods, but they have a diverse offering of local baked goods to go with your coffee, including a handful of gluten free goodies from Joy The Baker! I tried the Bergamot Fog Latte, which had a nice balance of fragrance and creaminess. They offer free Wi-Fi, so I will definitely be back to get some work done! :) read more

It seems as though if you order online you may or may not get your coffee while it is still hot. I was parked in a clearly visible spot and alerted them to my arrival via the app. I was told that "my car could not be found and they did not know what type of car that is" I am disappointed in this treatment because I frequent this shop often. The coffee was great but the atmosphere left something to be desired. The young ladies on the shift were quite distracting with their giggling like schoolgirls and flirting with some of the young men (potentially managers?). The one young man who helped me was very pleasant and seemed to be the only employee who was actually working. I found myself feeling sorry for him as he seemed actually interested in the job and quality of work and knowledgeable about the product but the rest of the atmosphere did not match with his level of customer service delivered. I come here about three times a week, so I figured it was my obligation to leave a raving review! Every time I come to Baba Java, I get sad when it's time to leave. I love all of the baristas, a few of them I would consider friends now. They give me such a sense of community every time I walk through the door. The coffee is amazing. It's roasted in-house and is used to make the most delectable drinks you could imagine. Also, I am a very slow drinker and none of the baristas give me looks when I ask for my drink to be reheated! :) Their food is amazing as well! They provide food from locals in Birmingham including the Joyful Food Co., Sweet Bottom Bakery, and a host of others. I personally enjoy the cinnamon roll and the savory roll. They both go well with my fat rolls. :P In short, this place isa diamond in the middle of Hoover and you should go there as much as you can. Just don't take the table right by the door by the couch. Nice clean café with a full size roaster in the back. They roast all the beans they use in their coffees. I had an espresso straight up, nice depth of flavor with a strong top note, not a heavy roast. I also purchased a bag of the Yemen whole bean at their recommendation. Made a cup when I got home- it had been roasted about 2 weeks prior. The beans are on the smallish side but are a consistent size. Nice and clean with a distinctive berry flavor that I think is unique to this coffee. It has a great aftertaste and the flavor improves after the coffee cools a bit. Hope these guys stay in business and I can sample their other roasted offerings. They had 5 different beans, all at a medium roast. read more

Their orange apeel latte is the best latte I've had in Birmingham. They carry a wide variety of coffee's and teas, and they also carry piper and leaf teas and steel city pops.
