I've had this booked marked for a while now and finally decided to try them out. After checking out the menu, I decided on the chicken kabob meal with rice, hummus and salad. The food came out after about 10 mins, not a bad wait at all. Service was fast and friendly. Everything was fresh and hot and looked really good. The chicken was good, tender and moist but was a little bland. The hummus was smooth and creamy, but again it was a little bland and so was the garlic spread. I did not care for the salad at all, nothing was wrong with it, just personal taste, didn't care for the spice blend and it was soggy and over dressed. But again that's my personal taste preference. Overall it was good and would try them out again if I was at Haven City, but there's another place down the road that I think I will stick with when I have a craving. read more

I get pretty disappointed with Falafel in the U.S but this Falafel wrap was solid. We also got the Beef and Chicken Schwarma wraps. They looked small so I ordered two of each one per person but they are really filling. Most of us, even our big guys didn't get to the second one. Each comes with a choice of fries or rice and a slab of the World Famous Hummus. Ok I know I'm super excited about this place but seriously you can go wrong on the food. Yes it's the first week they opened so there system and processes will be tweaked until the dust settles. But like any new establishment it takes time. The bottom line how was the food and service? 5 stars for both! As busy as it was they still greeted us and thanked us for coming and that goes along Amway. Today was madness. The grand opening of Haven City Market... The food was REALLY GOOD. We did the combo platter for 2, and it was a lot of food. Very tasty. It was lamb, beef, chicken skewers, hummus and pita, salad, and rice. It was served in a catering tray. Definitely a great deal at 26 bucks. We did end up waiting for about a half hour for our food... But today was just super busy. My mom and dad usually split the plentiful filet mignon kabobs with veggies platter and usually still have enough greek salad and hummus for me to steal. I LOVED the wrapped beef shawarma! ** WARNING ** if you wanna TRY the unwrapped beef or chicken shawarma, you need to arrive around 5-5:30 pm and toward the end of the week and weekends as close to 5 pm as possible. We love this place and visit often, however, this past weekend (7/2) we had a bad experience. We waited over 30 minutes for our food (they were not busy like usual). I went to check the status of our food only to be told by the person who took our order (Delilah), that our ticket had gotten lost (??). No apology/accountability, just simply "we lost your ticket". I'm so disappointed in this place i ordered the filet mignon skewer. I ordered it medium rare and when I got it it look so dry and burnt but from the inside was very raw. I actually ended up getting food poisoning and had to go to urgent care. The meat also was so thick I needed to use two hands to pull it apart and take a bite. Bc the fork and knife wasn't cutting it. Whoever was cooking that day definitely didn't know how to cook. LOVE Baba K! Haven City is something that's, quite literally, very close to home for me, and I regularly venture there for a variety of good eats. Tucked away in the far back corner of Haven City, Baba K serves up tasty Mediterranean appetizers, sandwiches, plates, kebabs (and probably more that I'm forgetting!) My go-to order here is the Falafel Plate. Now, I love me some good falafel, but fans of Mediterranean food know that not all falafel is made equal. I've had just a small handful of falafel from restaurants that is GREAT -- usually it's just "OK," but Baba K's falls into the GREAT category for me! It's well-seasoned, has a great crunch, and good flavor. The plate I typically order comes with salad (yummy dressing!), hummus, and rice along with 4 balls of falafel and tahini sauce. Heck, even their RICE is delicious. I've tried a few other Mediterranean places around Rancho, and Baba K comes out on top. The people working here are very friendly, and when my husband and I have picked up our orders before, one woman working there recommended some sauces for us to try with our eats. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Haven City, and it really sets itself apart by offering a unique genre of food you can't find elsewhere inside the food court.
