Mango Lassi, Ras Malai, Cha (chai) and chole bhature

Authentic NORTH INDIAN PUNJABI cuisine, just the way I like it. One of the best chole bhature and dal makhni I've ever had. Same can be said for the ras malai and kheer, Mango lassi and other sweets were good too (besan barfi and kaju kathli). Cha (chai) could be a little better. Customer service could be improved - we were told we cannot sit down to eat and it was still 25 min to closing time. We ended up eating in the car. The crowds were insane on a Friday night to where they sold out of mango lassi, you guys need to have enough prepared to account for the crowds on the weekends. There's no To-go cups with lids and we were given piping hot tea with not even a second cup to protect from how hot it was. We struggled to carry this to our car with no lids. If this were improved, I'd give them a full 5 stars but the food is 5 stars 100% and we will keep coming back for it.

Baba Sweets, I'm sweet on you! This authentic Punjabi - north India & Bangladesh + Pakistan cuisine sweets, treats and more spots are full of flavor and wander. If you're a fan of Indian, you'll definitely enjoy Baba. Celebrating 15 years recently this Canoga Park hidden gem is a fully vegetarian dessertery and restaurant. We stopped in to try their complimentary buffet including so many yummy eats. The Naan, Aloo Paratha (potato bread), Baingan Bharta (eggplant) Chana Masala (chickpeas), Aloo Gobhi (Cauliflower Potato Curry) and Basmati Rice among other things were incredible - vegan by default favs. There was some Saag Paneer, but I know this is a fully vegetarian dish with plenty of cheese/dairy. It was very much enjoyed by my boyfriend as were tons of buttery, creamy delights here. We did a plate and a half each. The spice ranges from mild to medium/moderate, but I don't mind even more heat, actually a lot of heat. I know if you're not familiar with Indian cuisine and culture you might not know that the range of spices is vast, but it isn't only to add immense flavors. It also aids in loads of health benefits which is the sweetest thing about this San Fernando Valley staple. Neighborhood energy, service and care making it a true hidden must be part of LA's melting pot. Located in a semi industrial part of Canoga just east of the Orange Line Busway path in a stand alone lot off Saticoy Street/Deering Avenue - there is both tons of street parking and lot parking. Restroom for customers - gender neutral - left of the main restaurant itself. Seating outside as well as in, though they moved everything full outdoors when we visited to ensure a smooth flow for the buffet. Also offering bottles of water, napkins, utensils and even masala chai. Hoping to try more next time, especially their samosas in-person as I've heard good things and had the pleasure of trying via a friend long ago. Support Baba Sweets :)

This is an amazing place to have really authentic Indian food. I like all the sweets and snacks they made. If you are visiting LA this place is must, however it is little ahead of LA but worth visiting. I like their chole bhature, same taste water crave here. Their Indian snacks are so fresh and good and write now they have plenty of varieties for Diwali including Diwali diyas. It is always busy, but their service is generally faster and they give complementary Indian tea too. Must visit !!!!

Baba Sweets used to be our go to place for having authentic Punjabi food, Indian sweets and savories. They serve simple food that's so well prepared and just feels like comfort food. All the dishes served here are vegetarian! My favorites were Dal Makhni, Paneer Curry, Aloo Gobi, Punjabi Chole, Gulab Jamoon, Carrot Halwa, Malai sandwich sweet, Namak para, Gur para & Samosa. Neat and decent ambience A must visit place if you're a vegetarian or love to try Indian cuisine.

Drove all the way out here coz my husband really wanted to check them out. We had some chaat, chana bhatura, and tried some sweets. The food was delicious but the sweets were meh. I'm not sure it's worth the trip coming from South Bay..

I had wanted to sample the food here for quite some time. I finally stopped by and bought a 3 item combo. I enjoyed my food. Service was helpful. Dining room was busy but clean. Parking was not difficult. If you like seasonings and flavorful vegan and vegetarian food, Baba Sweets is a great choice. And the carrot dessert that came with my combo was deliciously memorable.

If you are fond of freshly cooked vegetables or at that matter, can take a break to have vegetarian food for a few days, why not try Baba Sweets. It is one of a few vegetarian Indian eateries that have a daily fresh hot case with enticing and tasty options to either dine in or take home. Baba Sweets has mouthwatering Punjabi favorites that make you coming back for more. The food is prepared fresh daily, with a rotating menu that always delivers on consistency, high quality, taste and intoxicating flavors.

Craving Indian, this is a must-try! No frills, just a "quick" pick and go type restaurant. I put quick in quotes due to depending on line. There is a line to get into, wait your turn, get help from the person calling you to come up to the counter. Two item combo? Three item? Only a few bucks difference and lots of food extra. I always opt for the larger combo, so worth it. Saag is only available on Sundays, I know cause it's my favorite and I've asked a handful of times, lol. Their samosa is delicious, and always hits the spot. When you get your Naan (bread - comes with a combo), eat it fresh, eat it soon, the longer it sits and gets steamed in the heat bag, it changes it. The people working there are nice and friendly, and very helpful if you need some help or explaining. The carrot dessert is awesome as it is quite balanced. Sweet, but not super sweet. The Gulab Jamun is good too. Thick, but not dense, however, it is super sweet, good thing you only get one. Definitely try this place, it's one of my go-to places all the time.

This place is a gem. Their food is delightful and reasonable price. They also have Indian desserts. Definitely will return to explore more of their menu.

This review is for the mitai. We made a quick stop while in the area for a family dinner. Picked up a box of assorted burfi and some jalebi. It's was definitely fresh! The prices are also good at about $10lbs. I would've like to try their hot foods if I wasn't already on the way to a dinner party. Although I definitely smelled like their hot food for the rest of the night from 5 mins of being in the store.

    Not always but occasionally

No it does not.. I've only seen take out since covid began!

The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

The lemon loaf slice is huge, I'd say it's the equivalent of two slices, so it's definitely big enough to share. As for the cookies, Levain is known for making them thick and rich. A small piece goes a long way, making them perfect for savoring over a couple of days (if you have that much self-control!).
