Found one of my new favorite places tonight. My meal was absolutely delicious! I ordered a 3 entree meal and ate it there. I also got bread that they warmed for me. The meal came with a yoghurt and dessert as well. My favorite dish was the Aloo Gabi. It's a spicy and flavorful Cauliflower dish. I also got a spicy panner dish that I love that seemed to be one of the most popular of the entrees. The bread is perfect. The restaurant is a brightly colored cafeteria style. Not fancy, but clean and nice. I really like a low key style like this. The service was excellent. They took their time helping me decide what to order when I told them it was my first time. Highly recommend Baba Sweets. It's even worth a trip to the Valley! The line can get long since this is a popular place. I didn't wait long because I must have gotten there before the dinner rush. Decided to try this Indian place and was pleasantly surprised. At first my friend and I were feeling out of place, but soon enough a bunch of people from different places came in. The line remains consistently long in the afternoon. They have dine in or take out. The prices are very reasonable. Average $20 per person and it came with everything in the picture. Staff in particular a tall young Sikh man serving behind the counters are unprofessional impolite and make you feel as if they are doing you a favor. I love this place as it serves vegetarian food and when you order, they make it fresh and it is served to you piping hot, just like Indian food should be served. My favorite is the Aloo Paratha, Daal Makhani, the Pindi Chana. My wife loves the exotic Makke Ki roti and sarson ka saag, Corn Roti, and Mustard Gravy although I am not a big fan of that. Parking: there a small parking lot, it was crowded but we got a parking spot. Wow! This place is legit! We got two 3 item combos and a chana bhatura. Prices are amazing and service was great. You wait in line until you get called up to order. After you pay, the cashier will fill your order and you can pick the curries you want. The 3 item combo comes with 3 curries of your choice, pickled vegetables, a carb (rice, Indian fried rice or spaghetti - whatever they make for the day). It also comes with a dessert, yogurt to cool your palate and a bread of your choice. The food is amazing, on top of that, they offer free chai, water and Wifi. And on top of that! The owner was so so nice, I don't know if he does this every service but he walked around and gave out free dessert to everyone! And he made his rounds again to see if anyone wanted more. Great Punjabi sweets place with great barfi, samosas, and jalebi. They make the best sweets that I've tried compared to many Indian stores or restaurants across the U.S. I always ensure to come here when I can and they never disappoint. I remember when I hated Jalebi with a passion, but Baba Sweets changed my mind for the better. I always think back to theirs and love them now. I can't believe I haven't done a review for Babas as much as I've patronized them. My favorite thing to order here is their paneer masala and a few samosas- so good with the plum sauce. I will usually grab that and whatever lentils they have for the day. The chai tea is also a winner, and the great thing about it, is it's usually free tho I believe they only serve it on weekends now because of covid. Love their food and sweets but their rules at the location are just absurd. Plus during festival season they use too much food color in their Indian sweets. The food color usually bleeds and irritates the throat. On regular days their sweets are great and don't have this much food coloring. Their food and sweets are made really well. In NorCal, I was used to going to restaurants that provided free tea, but haven't found any that do the same in the LA area, so I was very excited and easily downed 2-3 cups when I visited. I came on a Saturday early evening, and it was pretty crowded! I got one of the last open parking spots, and the line inside was pretty long. I guess it wasn't dinnertime yet, because most people there were ordering desserts only. I found the whole display cabinet to be a bit daunting, as each dessert had an Indian name, which I needed to google to find out the meaning.There are no descriptions or allergy warnings on the signs. I ordered a small variety of desserts, and I didn't realize that I could order by box size instead of by weight! I got 5 or 6 types of desserts for under $5, which is crazy. My favorites were some of the barfis: milk & cashew in particular, and the gulab jamun (which I refer to as a syrup ball). Everything was very fresh and plentiful. The business is run by Panjabi (Sikh) Indians and need not to say they do their work with full heart and dedication with a gesture of kindness (they offered us complimentary cinnamon Chai/tea as we visited them for the first time). I recently discovered Baba and it is now an essential part of my weekly take out routine. I've never had a bad vegetarian dish here. My recommended dishes are the samosas with or without chaat. It is super spicy so be forewarned. The allo parantha is a medium spice potato stuffed bread. The chana bhatura is a fluffy Indian fry bread which coincidentally is just like the Native American version. It comes with a mild spice chana masala and spicy pickled vegetables. I was surprised to find a pickled lemon once. Quite the delicious culinary adventure. I am not a big fan of most Indian desserts, but the milkcake is hands down one of my favorite snacks Prices are reasonable, you can feed two for under $20.
