Th food here was REALLY EXCELLENT and the service was wonderful. Our table attendant was very friendly and extremely helpful in explaining the menu choices. This is not the way to run a business and definitely it's not a way to treat customers in the U.S. This kind of attitude does not work here. I don't have to convince Persians about the bad quality of the food, but to non-Persians, you should definitely try other Persian restaurants and compare the taste (not to mention the health issues). That recent visit was on Friday March 14th 2014. Time was about 18:30hrs. This establishment is situated next to Qdoba on its right, and on its left is Tokyo Joe's. Man at that hour, this vicinity is DEFINITEY Jam Packed especially the Parking Lots! Yes, this establishment has their own "tandoor" oven which they make their in-house breads aka "Lavash". Yes, you order at the counter and they will given you a "NUMBER Token" and they will sent your order to where you are seating. We decide to seat ourselves on the High Tables with High Chairs aka Bar Stools, which is facing the Car Park and The Patio. There is also some seating areas at the Patio and also a Private Room available inside this establishment. I wanted to order the Eggplant dish, but the staff at the counter said, they removed this item from their Menu. *Sigh* From what I could recall we ordered the following items : * Shish Beef with Dill Rice option ($9.95) * Chenjeh Kabob With Beef Chunks and Basmati Rice option ($12.95) * Noono Paniro Sabzi aka Salad with Mint Leaves, Olives, Feta Cheese ($5.99) * 2 Fountain Drinks ($3.78) If I am not mistaken our order also comes with their Special In House Made Breads that looks like "Lavash" or "Nan-e Lavash". My Main Entrée comes with Onions, Beef Kabobs, Cucumber of some kind, Charred Tomatoes, a Lemon Wedge and Shredded Lettuce. Overall, the food were indeed Underwhelming for our personal taste. Kinda disappointed I love Persian restaurants because they have delicious food and amazing service, but this place is little bit deferent. The lady-cashier wasn't very nice, she never even smiled to us. It was a feeling that you are not welcome in the place, kinda like 'if you want - buy, if not go'. I asked for a warm water, but got it so hot, that I couldn't even drink it. My husband ordered Shish Kabob, because he loves meet, but instead received more veggies than meat, which was over cooked (super dry) and lots of rice. My dish was also just little kabob and lots of rice. The was super small and hot tea was just like a regular black tea, not like in other Iranian places. After watching Anthony Bourdain eat Persian food, I was so hungry that I immediately started searching for something in Denver. I found Babajoon's and bookmarked it. Last night I came with a friend to sample. This is a fast casual concept so it was but a mere glance of what I assume Persian food to be and taste like. I ordered the salmon skewer which was perfectly cooked salmon. The rice was a little under salty for my taste but a quick dash of salt got it to my preferred level. The salmon and rice were very good together although not a unique flavor profile. I also ordered the eggplant appetizer which was absolutely delicious and like nothing I've had before. I paired this with the home made bread which was a little like Indian naan with the fluffy pieces but an altogether more yeasty flavor. This was my first time visiting Colorado and I was craving some Persian food with my brother and sister. There was more of a fast food vibe to this place but the food was not fast food-ish at all. It was so delicious! My brother got zereshk polo, my sister got the combo kabob (chicken and beef) and I got the chicken kabob. It was so delicious. I can still taste it! The service was very friendly as well and I also liked that the kitchen was in plain site. I was on business in Colorado and visiting clients the last two days. I asked my colleague if they like Persian food and they replied "I Love Persian Food!" I said great let me if there's anything around. That's when I came up on Babajoon's Kabob & More. Everything was 5 star + the food, service and ambiance was great. We both ordered the beef Soltani with half rice and half salad. I got the Shirazi Salad and my colleague got a Garden Salad. We also ordered a Mast Mousier which came out with freshly baked bread. I got to meet the owner and was telling how I was visiting from California. I told him how in NorCal there's really no good options... and in SoCal there's a ton. He had told me that he previously lived in SoCal but moved to Colorado. All of our food was made to order so it was definitely worth the wait. The Koobideh & Barg kabobs were juicy and cooked perfectly. I can't stress how great this meal was. My colleague who's local to Colorado said she couldn't wait to come back again and try other dishes they have. read more

I've been married 39 years to a Persian and hav had lots of Persian food. The food here is excellent and the portions generous. They have bread baked in a traditional clay oven (yum) and the kabobs we tried were delicious. If they have lamb shank don't pass up the opportunity to try if; it's absolutely delicious and the sauce they serve it in is thick and I st divine (I love lamb shank but don't usually eat the sauce which is often thin and more like braising liquid). The husband and wife who own and work/cook are very warm and welcoming. There is a nice outdoor area if the weather is cooperating. We're just visiting the area but have been here twice 11/12/19 - We're back again for some delicious food! Everything just as good as before. I am originally from an area with a large Persian population. The food was very authentic Iranian for Denver. Every time I eat there there are a few Iranian families eating there as well. Their food is delicious, excellent open flame grilled kabobs with a lot of vegetarian options. They serve fresh authentic salads. They are also very unique in that they offer freshly made authentic Iranian stews, stuffed grilled peppers, and flat bread. They also have a homemade authentic Doogh drink, which is hard to find. This is a family run business and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. They have exceptional customer service. Immediately when I walked in the door I was warmly greeted. They asked if I had any food allergies they could help with. I was served quickly and noticed to-go orders were out the door very quickly. read more

The worst Persian food we ever tasted! If you want good Middle Eastern food, try other restaurants. This is a so-called fat food restaurant, with nothing worth eating there. NEW After spending a day with some friends in Boulder, on the way back we all decided to have dinner at Babajoon's. We seated ourselves and noticed that our table was oily. We asked the teenager who was mopping the floor to clean the table. Without washing his hands, he got a dirty rag and unsuccessfully attempted to clean our table. We got napkins and covered the table. We also noticed that the carpeting was filthy with dried up food and food stains. Our Salmon dish was done right, but all the ground beef kabobs were overcooked and dry. Next day, when we checked our receipt, we discovered that the owner had added 15% to our food as "Misc", then added tax to it. We called the restaurant and the owner told us the 15% Misc was because he took our order at the table - his tip. Adding to that the tip we left for the young man for bringing the food to our table, the service charge for our meal in this fast food restaurant was over 25%. This was more than what one would have paid for tip at a 5-star full service restaurant. When we told the owner that he could not charge for table service because he did not advise us, and it was not written anywhere on the menu about this charge, he became abusive and grudgingly refunded the 15%. We also advised him that he could not charge tax on service. However, that advice fell on deaf ears. If you have a craving for Middle Eastern or Iranian (Persian) food, there are many other restaurants with better food and more sanitary condition. Besides, we bet you will never be charged a 15% for "Table Service", like in this Fast Food restaurant does.. Finally, there are many 5-star reviews for this restaurant with professional photos on Yelp & Tripadvisor.. This is very suspicious! How many impartial reviewers would go through the trouble of developing and posting professional photos? A follow up. Worst kabob I have eaten. These were flash grilled, unevenly cooked, and somewhat uncooked. Serving partially burnt food does not make it Persian, in fact the charred food is unhealthy. Frustratingly expensive for 2-star food quality.
