Many of the breakfast sandwiches are based on their in-house-made bagels. This is a failure! The bagels taste stale for "freshly made" and I find it very odd for a Jewish-themed joint to toss bacon into the sandwich (I personally love bacon, BTW). So setting aside the shanda (shame) bacon...with the cheese, there is an utter lack of seasoning. The breakfast sandwich came with home fried potatoes which were cooked nice and crisp but lacking any seasoning whatsoever. The latke grilled cheese looks appealing but is basically a greasy sponge filled with limp tomato and undercoooked cheese. And finally, the blintzes are an embarrassment to any self-respecting Jew. Zaddy's version are these small pockets that are under fried and more the size of a hamantaschen than a true blinze. I see no reason to rush back. Their bagels are inspired by both New York and Montreal styles, giving them a perfectly chewy texture with just a hint of sweetness. They're fantastic on their own, but they really shine as the foundation for these breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Thunderbird, and as someone who normally avoids both salt & pepper bagels (I know...weird) and sweet-and-savory combinations, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I was completely wrong. The maple chicken sausage, fluffy bodega-style eggs, melty American and cheddar, spicy honey, and maple salt & pepper bagel somehow create the perfect balance. Nothing overpowers anything else, and every bite just works. My friend had the Pastrami Sun City, which was equally outstanding. The pastrami was tender and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the spicy honey added just the right amount of sweetness without stealing the show. We also ordered the latkes, served with both sour cream and applesauce. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and exactly what you want from a great potato pancake. Being able to switch between the tang of the sour cream and the sweetness of the applesauce made them even better. And don't leave without grabbing a Chocolate Babka Muffin. It has that rich chocolate swirl you'd expect from babka with a crunchy, sugary exterior that's impossible to resist. The colorful, upbeat atmosphere matches the food, and it's clear this place has developed its own identity instead of trying to imitate a traditional deli. That's refreshing. Service is friendly and quick. We saw several people picking up ordrs to go as well. For a first visit, this was a home run. We'll absolutely be back - and next time we're diving into more of the bagels and schmears. Denver is lucky to have a spot like this.

The lady who works here has to be one of the rudest and most miserable human beings I have ever…read moreencountered. She speaks to you as if she is inconvenienced that you dare shop in her store. Today I was just inquiring about a pick up order and she hangs up the phone on me because I didn't want to wait an hour for my food. This is not the first negative encounter I've had with her but it is definitely the last. No way I will ever patronize this store again, which is a shame because being from Eastern Europe I like their goods. That said, I could be starving to death and I would not step foot in this place again. Be forewarned that the customer service here is non existent. Spend your money where it's appreciated.
