I'll start by saying the only reason it's 4 instead of five stars is because I found the safron rice a bit bland. Next time I'll try the dill rice and update my review. With that out of the way, there are a lot of great things about this place. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The lamb was moist and delicious. Was feeling like a rice bowl day today, but noticed that the place next to Tokyo Joe's finally opened. I enjoy kabobs, I too am a meat popsicle, and damn I am good. Went inside, was greeted right away by what I presume to be the manager since they only opened Saturday. He handed me a menu to read and made a couple suggestions, good guy. I ordered the beef kabob with an extra skewer and basmati rice; price was acceptable albeit a bit on the higher side for lunch. It took about 10 minutes for them to prepare my lunch since everything was made to order. They even have this drum looking clay oven thingie to bake the bread, very authentic indeed. The manager offered me free hot tea while I wait, once again, good guy. At any rate, the food was really tasty! It came with two halves of a grilled tomato (I don't do tomatoes personally, but meh), and a side of shredded lettuce. Personally I think they'd be better off if they did without those or replace that with some grilled onions and peppers if the customer chose rice instead of bread or salad (you can choose your side with your entree); but to each their own. I also would have loved, loved it if they had either baba ghanoush or hummus available with it. Authentic and delicious Persian food. This is the only true Persian restaurant in North Denver area. Prices are very reasonable and the owners are super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant just doesn't have a great feel, odd seating, a little run down and quite empty. First of all, this review isn't meant to criticize the establishment, but more as constructive feedback as I am in the food industry and want to support small establishments such as this. It also seems like there are other customers who feel the same way. I ordered takeout and as a customer, I was a bit disappointed with what I paid for. It was $10 for one strip of beef kubideh that came with an overwhelming amount of rice. There was way too much rice for the amount of meat and this is coming from a person who loves rice and always asks for extra rice. For the price, I wish I could've at least gotten a bit more variety. I would suggest to the owner maybe half the rice and let the customer choose bread or salad. None of these sides are costly and lets the customer feel like they are getting more variety. I order Mediterranean/Persian food all the time and for $10 or less it usually comes with protein, rice, tomato, roasted jalapeno, salad and bread, so I was a little bit underwhelmed by what I received. I am a small girl and honestly I was still hungry after my meal. I also wanted to try the eggplant mirza, but decided not to order it because it didn't come with bread to eat it with. Like another yelper had mentioned, the lady said it was because they have gluten-free customers. I don't know if this is the real reason or not, but gluten-free customers can just not eat the bread? I think it's more important to cater to the majority not the minority. The staff was very nice and the food was not bad so hopefully everything works out for them! read more

I've eaten here before and it was fine, came in tonight and they are out of lamb.... On top of that I ordered the kabob skewers that shows two kebabs on the menu on the wall. I ordered an extra kabob. I was charged $22. I got the attached pictured plate of two kebabs and rice. That's their idea of $22 of food. Asked for my third kebab and was told my order was correct.
