    Cold and hard sponge bread

My lady kept raving about this place and I haven't been to an Ethiopian restaurant since my friends mom owned one. The people were very nice, the tables were dirty. We got 2 $74 platters, this came on one plate and to me seemed not worth $150 at all but time is hard and the price of groceries are high so I looked past only getting 2 small chicken drum sticks in a platter for 4 lol. My main things that made me not want to go back is the dirty table they sat us at and also the COLD SPONGE Bread! Some of it was even hard like it had been sitting out. And when the very nice older lady came to show us how to eat with our hands she tried to feed me with her dirty hands and also had food in her mouth and I swear a chunk flew out when she was talking . Other than that the food was good and people are nice. They need to do a better job on the sponge bread that was a big disappointment. I won't go back unfortunately

I entered Ras Kassa's with an empty stomach and high hopes, and to say that I left satisfied would be a understatement. The flavor of the beef and chicken exploded in my mouth and the lamb lowkey rendered me and my friends nonverbal for a few minutes because it was so good and so filling. My gratitude goes out to Mr. Kassa. The waiter was kind enough to bring us a complimentary brownie and we did not waste the opportunity! I love Ethiopian food and I will be back in the near future to give Ras Kassa's more if my business. Thank you Ras Kassa's.

You know how the song "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley makes you feel happy? When it plays, you instantly smile and relax as the music washes over you. That's the exact feeling you'll get when you dine at Ras Kassa's Ethiopian Restaurant! The women who run the restaurant are an absolute delight! They have the most beautiful and infectious smiles that light up the room. You can tell that they have so much pride for what they do, how they serve and the food they share with the parties that walk through their door. My party of three decided to share the Feast for Two and Golden Sambussa. And "don't worry" it was more than enough food for us three and "every little thing" was more than alright! The Golden Sambussa's were crisp, warm and perfectly fried. They had such a great texture! I gobbled two up in a blink but was still ready for the Feast for Two, which included Hummus Appetizer / Farmer's Cheese Floret / Mild Lamb Stew / Spicy Chicken Stew / Spicy Beef Stew / Spicy Red Lentils / Collard Greens and Potatoes / Carrot Salad / Dessert to Share / + 2 beers, cocktails or drinks. It's quite the deal, as well as, a showstopper in presentation and flavor. My belly smiled with the rising of each torn Injera going in for another scoop! It was one of the most enjoyable and appetizing meals I've had this month. We left as Three Little very happy n' full Birds. Can't wait to chirp on back ;)

Don't you dare hesitate for ONE SECOND - just come here. Not just the best Ethiopian food in CO, but seriously some of the best food out of all the food there is CO. And the family that runs the place treats you like family - incredibly humble and so so happy to feed you. The grandma treated me like I was her grandchild the way she encouraged me to eat more and how happy she was when i told her "i've never eaten more food in my life!"

I understand all the wonderful reviews now! The women who work here are all so kind. The food was very good! Definitely out of my comfort zone, but I'm glad I tried it! Now that I know what to expect, I would try it again!

My partner shared the big plate dinner for 2. It came with drinks and pita. My first time eating Ethiopian food and it was soooo yummy. The owner was really sweet too. My partner is vegan and I asked for the goat cheese separately. It was so tasty. We want to come back for the coffee ceremony. We will be back again :)

So amazing!! This place has been around for decades (albeit 3 different locations). The wonderful ladies (family restaurant) apparently don't age because they are the same warm, smiling people from 1996 when I first ate here. Full disclosure, I love this type of food and it did not disappoint. Food to be eaten without silverware on delicious spongy bread with taste bud exploding entrees = happy belly. My son had trout and I had spicy lentils - ugh, so freaking good. We added mango juice and an Ethiopian margarita with "secret" ingredients - had to have two of those If you like ethnic food go directly here for a party in your mouth you won't regret!!

So great to try Ethiopian food. Lots of differentiation in what you could potentially order. I would definitely recommend!

Great food! The 'feast for two' options are a lot of food, so come hungry. You won't be disappointed.

Is their injera gluten-free? Edit: they do have gluten-free injera for $2 extra

Only if it is made with Teff. Teff is gluten free, but sometimes injera is made with a mixture of flours and therefore if you truly need gluten free it is ALWAYS advised that you check with the individual restaurant. For more general information… Read more

When we get there at 5:45, we notice that the food is packed up in a medium (9"x13") sized aluminum pan with lid. In the past we'd gotten our meals in two styrofoam take out boxes with plenty of food so I was initially excited to see the new packaging because I believed the quantity would be the same or more. We get home 5 mins later and were sorely disappointed by our order. There were plenty of lentils but the orange ones were undercooked and lacked flavor. There were only about two bites of the collard greens/Gomen wat. And usually Mama África supplies more potatoes spears with their carrot and cabbage side, this time, we also only got two bites of the cabbage, no potatoes. Not to mention, the green beans were definitely canned and had no additional flavor to them. We asked for a side of chickpea soup/shiro wat and were disappointed to find that it too lacked flavor and was mostly oil. The worst part in addition to all the above was that the food was cold and the injera tasted stale and lacked its usual sourness. To add insult to injury, the meal was nearly 70 dollars in total for something that barely fed one person. This was the first time I ever wanted to ask for a refund for our food because we barely received one portion of the veggie combo, not the two we paid for. I hate to leave a one star review for a small business but the quality and quantity of food went down drastically.

Everything was good. There were some veggies that we didn't really love but still good. The food took a while to come out. We waited about 40 mins but understood that they seems to be family owned business so they don't have too many people working. There are plenty of parking. Overall it was not bad and good flavor! Will be back to try other dishes here.
