Absolutely disappointing!!! We took family from out of town here last night. Food was cold and extremely expensive for the poor quality. Pasta wasn't cooked, orders were made incorrectly! So embarrassing to have our guests sitting waiting for their orders to be corrected while the rest of the table is eating. Arrived into Babbo 's last night for a dinner after a movie. As always, my husband and I like to sit at the counter. The bartender/server was most congenial and personable. I ordered a wedge salad and an appetizer of pomodra tomatoes with mozzarella, while my husband had a Chalkboard item, with veggies and a salad. the bread with olive oil and vinegar is always very good. Just had lunch at the new babbO in goodyear. Visited px and surprise in the past. This new one is fabulous. Beautiful patio and plenty of seating. Servers are great. I had the small steak salad. My friend had the steak Panini. We took home doggie bags. We ate so much of the yummy bread. I took the matzo balls home for hubby. I love Babbo's and frequently had dinner at the Surprise location. So, when I heard they had a location on McDowell I was super excited as it's much closer than Surprise. Yesterday, my husband and I went to the McDowell location for an early dinner around 6:30. We arrived on the heels of another couple and was seated rather quickly. However, the other couple stopped and conversed with another group of friends for about 5 minutes before having a seat at their table. In the interim we sat, and sat and sat. The waitress attended to the table adjacent to us, brought them their bill and told them no hurry. She didn't acknowledge us at all. Then the waitress came back and collected their bill and cashed them out; still no acknowledgment. The table next to us was attended by a waiter who checked on them to make sure they had everything they needed...no acknowledgement. Then we had the table behind us, yet, another waitress walked right pass us and brought them water and still no acknowledgement. In the interim the couple who walked in with us and didn't sit down until 5 minutes later received their drinks and had their order taken. 15 minutes in and not one person ever approached or acknowledge us. The caveat is the restaurant was in no way full. Finally after 20 minutes, my. husband I called it quits! He headed out the door; however, I wanted to let Management know of my dissatifaction. The Manager was at the bar which was in direct view of our table! When I approached him and started to express myself, he actually knew we we were there and tried to explain i.e. cut me off with some lame excuse as to why no one, (and let's just include him) acknowledged our presence. Then he said I will personally take care of you, really??? You didn't bother to want to personally take care of me for 20 minutes and now you want to take care of us? And he actually took offense when I said don't bother. What I wanted him to do was to"listen", "reflect" and "apologize" for the lack of awareness/customer service or whatever you want to call it. Then you can ask me how can we make it right? Someone mentioned in a previous post that the service was mediocre, I think they were being way to nice. That service or lack thereof was unacceptable! What a joke. Limited menu. Mostly simple pasta with boil in a bag sauces. Also not very good pizza. Food tastes like it was cooked and frozen in a central kitchen in Fargo. Like airplane food back when airlines served food. Didn't like it the first time but felt guilty for being too harsh. Second visit even worse. I can think of many similar places all with better menus and better food more attractively served. Give this a miss and try Oregino's or NYPD. I know there's a shortage of restaurant workers, but this place needs new management. Waited for 60 minutes and saw numerous empty dirty tables and tons of patrons leave while we waited. I wish I could give a negative review! I waited 70 mins to be seated when the restaurant only had 6 tables occupied. To make matters worse, once we were seated we waited an additional 15 mins before completely taking the hint that our business was not appreciated or desired. Have to say after reading the reviews I was a little concerned about our dining experience but I have to say we had nothing to worry about. Our server Juliette was fantastic. She quickly took our drink orders and brought over bread almost immediately. Once she took our orders it seemed like we blinked and our food arrived. As for the food all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Juliette checked in on us several times and was quite the attentive waitress. All in all a very positive dining experience. read more

Went there last night with friends. Server was excellent but the food was, without a doubt, the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. All of us had different items. I had the spaghetti with tomatoes, capers and parmesan cheese. The tomatoes were canned and the cheese was in a clump. One of the people we were dining with ordered non spicy Mac and cheese; it arrived spicy and had to be sent back. My husband ordered spaghetti noodles with olive oil and cheese. How do you wreck that simple dish? Overcooked pasta, clumpy cheese and too much oil. Will not be returning to Babbo. my food was WAY over salted, my boyfriend said his was good. The manager made a pass at him, he turned her down because he has a girl. I called to speak to a manager about the food, and ask if there was any way that the person who took the order had access to the food. When I say my food was over salted, it wasn't just a little and someone had to have done it purposely (my boyfriend went in and ordered takeout while i waited in the car, but he ordered my food first and then asked for a recommendation, so they knew which food was his and his girlfriends, me). I tried to purchase a gift card and was told by management I had to pay a service fee on the card. I asked if it could be waived and was told no. I then contacted the company and was told that no service fees are applied to gift cards and the Goodyear location was wrong . The manager at the Goodyear location was cocky and condescending.
