We flocked to the grand opening of this Babbo's location at 16th Street and Glendale Avenue. I visited the restaurant with my nephew after a hike at Dreamy Draw Park. Parking 3/5 OMGosh. Parking is shared with McDonalds, Sprouts, and Moto. Parking may require some exercise due to all the successful businesses. Ambiance 5/5 The Restaurant has a warm modern contemporary Vibe. Takeout pickup is next to the Bar. The bar has a couple of tables in addition to the bar top. TV's are on Games. The dining room has a mixture of tables and booths. There is a large group table in the back. Menu 5/5 Nice variety of pastas, Spaghetti salads and deserts. I've become a diehard Spaghetti & meatball fan as is my nephew. My Wife and I always start with the Spring salad with sweet Vinaigrette Alfresco Fettuccine Alfredo. Service 4/5 Score reflects how busy this location gets and not because of wait staff. Wait staff have always been friendly and helpful. We avoid weekends and are seated quickly. This was our regular family evening meetups and filled the group table. Nice selection of Great food. We've been coming back regularly and now at our East Mesa location..

Between appointments, I noticed I had some time between one to the other. I drove out to the area of the last appointment, and saw they had a Babbo nearby. Pasta is always a good choice! I don't often eat meat, but a shrimp pasta seemed to be just what I was craving that day and it definitely hit the spot! Every meal at Babbo starts with complimentary bread with oil/balsamic and quite frankly one of the reasons I frequent this chain of restaurants. The Creamy Garlic Pasta ($18.50) substitute shrimp (+3) was such a large portion that I struggled to make a dent in it. It was the perfect lunch to enjoy as this Babbo location is by far the most beautiful! Loved the coziness, while maintaining a sleek look. The service was fantastic and very friendly. This will definitely be a return again when I'm in the area, and one of my doctors does bring me into this part of Phoenix regularly.

I enjoy coming here on Mondays and Tuesdays for happy hour and the spaghetti special. The meatballs are some of my favorites. I order it without parsley on top. Today I decided to order the pizza for myself and branch out. It was cooked well. The crust was toasty and crisp. Plenty of toppings and the flavor was delicious. Spinach, ricotta, Parmesan, spinach, roasted garlic and olive oil. Yum. It normally comes with tomatoes but I'm not big on them so I skipped. Would definitely recommend the place. I had the sangria which was good. Not overly sweet. I had 2 glasses, the pizza and a spaghetti to go for about $32.

If you love spaghetti and meatballs, then you must go to Babbo Italian Eatery. Every Monday and Tuesday, you can still enjoy it for $6.99. They also have great lunch specials happy hour, and on Thursdays, you can try their chicken parmigian for $9.99. Our waitress Aaliyah was very friendly and took really good care of us. The decor is modern and upscale. The dinner menu has a nice selection of Italian delights.

    My desert tonight

I came here yesterday with some coworkers for dinner and it was so incredibly delicious and the service was amazing professional and very courteous. I had been wanting to come here for awhile now especially since I've seen all the good things they do for charities in the community. I had their Creamy Mushroom and asparagus pasta and I literally wiped my plate with their so delicious bread! Left it as you should at any good Italian restaurant in Italy, where the chefs take their cooking very serious. I recommend this place and it's very comfortable upscale ambiance make it a feel good evening out and i recommend it to anyone and did I mention how reasonably price their menu is. Even a school bus driver on my budget can see myself coming in often!! Heck I'm back tonight having some desert before calling it the night at home. Delicious!!

The managers were so friendly and the food is amazing. The best happy hour, too! I had the stuffed portobello and a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I will definitely be back. Thank you Avery and Brandon for such a great experience!

Wow- can't believe we've been missing out on this place! We loaded up at Sprouts for the week then saw Babbo on the other side of the parking lot and went to give it a try. We had been to another location maybe a decade ago so it seemed "new" to us. I ordered the new lemon garlic spaghettini (sun GF noodles) and my husband ordered a fish with buffalo chicken. They also brought bread with olive oil and balsamic to the table. My dinner was so good- so lemony but not overpowering. My husband really enjoyed his but would probably ask to sub for a different pasta next time (slurping noodles gets messy!). This place was pretty dead but I noticed a lot of to-go orders were being picked up. It was clean, friendly staff- overall a great experience- we will definitely be back! Ps- big portions- I've got enough for lunch tomorrow!

Atmosphere and Service was exceptional. I ordered "Amy's Lasagna". It took a little extra to time to get to the table. They pre-warn you in the menu due to cooking time and it is definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend this if you're looking for fabulous Italian food.

    The White Buffalo... insanely delicious!

Last minute venture to go out for dinner on a Monday night, we got right in which was great. The renovations are lovely, very airy and open with gorgeous views of the mountains. We just missed Happy hour, which ends at 6p. Looks good though, will have to check that out another time. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts with beets & goat cheese for an appetizer. It was presented and cooked well. The earthy flavors were a balanced counterpart to our decadent main courses. We got the White Buffalo pasta, a buffalo chicken pasta with creamy gorgonzola sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender with crunchy breading & smothered in spicy Buffalo sauce. The linguine with creamy gorgonzola sauce with broccoli was outrageously good. We also got the short rib mushroom ravioli which was the least favorite. We had high hopes for the ravioli but it was too oily and would've been much better with a creamy garlic parmesan sauce. I must also mention our server was great. He was attentive but not hoovering. He was quick & efficient and not pushy. He really added to the enjoyment of a nice dinner out. We were very happy with the experience and are looking forward to going back.

Does this restaurant offer cheese wheel pasta (pasta alla ruota)?

Babbo Italian Eatery on Fridays and Saturdays from 4-9 PM. The cheese wheel is served with a variety of ingredients, including mushrooms, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, risotto, and cream. The recipe changes every two weeks.

    Are there vegan options here?

Hi, there are not vegan options on the menu but in my experience they are more than willing to help make most dishes they offer vegan friendly. I have ways found Babbo more than accommodating. 🌸

For dinner, we ordered the Butternut Squash Sacchetti pasta with frangelico cream sauce and almond dust, and it was delicious. But the dish you must try here is the Mafalde Norcina - a ruffled ribbon pasta with wild mushroom, sausage ragu and truffle cream. My two favorite dishes that never miss are the Lasagna and the Chicken Parm. Like clockwork, it has always been impeccable. Sadly my most recent experience will likely be my last experience. I ordered the Chicken Parm and when it came out there was something missing from my plate. Instead of the usual Rigatoni Pasta with Vodka Sauce there were a couple of stale chunks of potatoes and some sorry looking asparagus spears. I asked the bartender where is the pasta. She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

That misconception disappeared immediately upon stepping through the doorway. Warm, inviting ambiance, full of character. Attending the birthday celebration for an esteemed young man, our table wasn't ready (we were early) and the hostess offered us seats at the bar while awaiting our party. We each had a wine spritzer... may I say that the very few such concoctions I've had bearing that name didn't do justice to what we were served. I've never had anything like this, a "Sgroppino" (I'm partial to strawberry!) and it was perhaps the best adult beverage I've had in a very long time. Many different nuances in a glass. Stunning subtle, many diverse flavors. Mmm. Our bartender was an artist of the mixed adult beverage, a delightful individual with a warm, genuine smile and an encyclopedic knowledge of how to do his job expertly. Rare that you meet someone like this who isn't all measuring cups and shot glasses: everything he concocted was done by eye, and judging by what he made for us, his expertise was immediately apparent. Ben fatto. È andata benissimo, brava. When we'd all arrived, we were escorted to the "garden shed"... a smaller out-building filled with racks of wine, perhaps an ideal place for small wedding receptions or engagement parties. Well-cooled despite our broiling Phoenix evening. We had the garlic bread; someone ordered IL Tagliere, Calamari (no, thank you), and a basket of bread. You know how you go to a hamburger joint and what you're served looks nothing like the photos of their menu? Go to CiBO's web site and look at their menu: What you see in their photos is what you get. One visit and next time you look at their menu online, you'll salivate. Yes, the food is that good. I ordered the calzone. Delicious. Getting through it wasn't pretty... but it was excellent. Huge, very generous entree. Excellent flavors. Our server was delightful, attentive without being a nuisance. Our water glasses never reached empty, and the stories about the birthday boy (and others) were never interrupted. We never made it to desserts. Too much food and amusing stories. CiBO: È andata benissimo, brava.

An extra treat was that they have bottles of spicy oil on the tables, so I was able to enjoy the crusts by slathering them with the tasty oil as though they were breadsticks. On the way out, after mentioning to the bartender how good the oil was, I was gifted a couple of condiment cuplets to-go, which was a thoughtful and nice touch and sort of made up for the server who wasn't particularly warm or informative as I had to ask about the specials and whether or not all the pasta is freshly made, etc. Heck, if you have a great selling point like homemade pasta, talk it up and get us to drooling! There is a variety of seating available, including outside and at the bar--bar has an inside section as well as outside which is a nice design for the lovely weather days. However, it's unfortunate that the outdoor seating is on such a busy traffic corner, so it's not the little retreat it would otherwise be. The lunchtime music was more like happy hour music, not conducive to conversation--maybe for the cellphones-at-the -table crowd it's okay, but being near the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona Opera, why not add to the cultural experience of the area by celebrating its Italian origins with some Italian music? Even if just added as interludes during every few pieces, it would enhance the ambiance. We had to raise our voices to carry on our conversation, but it was manageable. However, when I came back the next week with a friend with a hearing impairment, it became more problematic. She tried adjusting her hearing aids, but the thumping rhythm kept taking precedence as we tried to find a quieter corner, but it wasn't possible as it is a small space and speakers were close to each table. I felt so bad that she couldn't enjoy a meal there--we both were so looking forward to having a fresh pasta dish, but just couldn't stay. Upon leaving, I felt I should let management know why so I waited to speak to him, offering constructive criticism about the sound level but he was not the least apologetic nor said he would take it under advisement, but was completely dismissive and harrumphy as though we were annoying problems and not potential regulars with suggestions worthy of consideration. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....
