"Babes Music Bar", I've been a patron for 20 years and never heard any music! In all fairness, I haven't stayed up past 8:00PM in 20 years either so.... Babes is a great spot for sports, drinks and bar food. A great selection of tap beers anchor the bar that is "manned" by very efficient and friendly ladies. Everything on the menu is done well and efficiently. Before COVID and the ensuing stupidity, they had free popcorn! As our COVID memory gets fuzzy, I hope they bring it back. Babes is also where I saw my forest Friday night Meat Raffle and was instantly addicted. Well hello. Ever find a diamond right under your nose. Moved to Lakeville area a few handfuls of years ago. Visited nighttime during band blare and noisy crowds. Not so much. First time here today. The food was sub or at best the service was poor. The sign said seat yourself after 30 minutes no one came to our table I had to go ask a server for a menu. The salad I ordered was absolute garbage, wish I took a photo. Since eating only a 1/3 of it I've been vomiting non-stop! Fun! Food was over priced too. Overall good food, onion rings were a bit soggy, I truly do recommend the Italian sandwich it's delicious, the water is great and I usually hate water at restaurants. The place has a weird stench in the corner with all the games. Service was ok only 2 servers at the time but it wasn't very busy. It has a great atmosphere I went over to the corner with the games to try out guitar hero an absolute awesome game I tried to put in a dollar but the machine wouldn't take it no matter what side or corner even though it clearly accepted cash money so I had to go get some quarters from the bartender. I went here today for the first time in years and am surprised to see the overall rating, as I was pleasantly surprised. Despite being busy, the service was good, and the food was much better than I expected. We got the tater tot kegs and the black and bleu burger with sweet potato fries - both delicious!!! It is definitely more of a dive, so if you're looking for a nicer atmosphere, this isn't the place. But for a nice casual environment and good food, it's the right place to be. My husband was just STANDING ordering a beer and a water for me. Security escorted us out and the older gentleman did not have to leave. It's kind of gross, stinky, neighborhood bar. I'm not sure if they cleaned the floor from the night before. I was not excited about coming here for Fathers Day but that's where Dad wanted to go. The table was dirty... The upside was our server. She was super nice and very attentive, contrary to what some if the other reviews said. I felt like she should work somewhere better. The Bloody Mary was really good, I'll give them that! We had food, against our better judgement. Burger was overdone and flavorless. Fries were all right. We came in on a Saturday night after an 8th grade hoops tourney with a large group of teens and parents. The food, drinks, and service were excellent. All the games were on the numerous TVs including the NBA all star 3 point contest. Fun vibe and energy to the place for sure and we'll be back. read more

Went for bingo. Sat in a section where the hostess said well you may be able to hear the numbers called , and we had been seated in the bar. Waited A while for our waiter to take food order. If I could give a zero star, I would !!!!! Babe's Music Bar......so disappointing!! You walk in and the first sign you see is no reservations, first come first serve. We made sure to get there early 5:30 so we could get a table. As we stand there, we see plenty of open tables, but we were not able to sit at the open tables because they were reserved for friends and family of the servers/hostess. One of the patrons in front of me said, "the tables are seated at the servers discretion". The table we were seated at was the only unreserved, undesirable table right by the swinging doors the servers come through constantly and prior to us sitting there, they were rolling silverware and cleared it off for us to sit there. We said to server/hostess, this is ridiculous and were asked if we wanted to see the manager and we said yes. The manager (Bre) informed us that we made a 15 year old cry when she was just doing what she was told. Then she proceeded to kick us out on the spot and tell us we are no longer welcome at this place. If a business does not plan to follow their own rules, then don't proceed to kick out customers because a server "cried" when the confronted with the fact the company is not following their own rules. You kicked out a long time customer (10+ years) and you tell us we are not welcome back. Sorry I am not someone that just sits back and says Oh well!! If a person or company can't follow their own rules and then make it seem like it is my fault, you need to ensure "ALL" your processes are in place. You had a sign up for everyone to see, but your main focus was reserving tables for friends, when you had no idea if and/or when they were coming. I, as well as others, odds are, adjusted schedules to ensure we would enjoy a pleasurable experience, but were extremely disappointed. We never once raised our voices to the hostess/server and the Manager (Bre) came over and never even asked what our issue was. She (Bre) came after me saying that we made a 15 year old cry and were instructed to leave and never come back. I will note this a second time, we never once raised our voices, nor did we say anything derogatory to the hostess/server. And as we walked out, the 15 year old that seated us was perfectly fine and assisting others, with no tears in her eyes. I have worked for the same company for 25 years, been in management positions, and have the understanding that the customer is always right. I also know there are exceptions to the rule, but I have never been treated in a manner that I was treated tonight, especially by a manager. For us to ensure we got there early enough to get a respectable table and to be treated the way we were was totally unacceptable. I highly recommend staying away from this establishment, as they only care to cater to the friends of their employees. Please remember that when times get tough. As long as I can get one person from attending your establishment I will be happy. For your manager (Bre) to treat people the way she does is totally unacceptable and you really need to take a look at who your management is. Thank you. read more

Babe's recently switched up their menu. So far, they're off to a great start. Seems like they're stepping up their game to compete with the other restaurants in town. I'm okay with that. But before you raise the prices on us, there are a few other things that should be ironed out first. 1) Update the decor. Menu overhaul should be the last thing you touch after you fix up the decor. 2) Get rid of the video games and pinball machines. 3) Clean up the bathrooms. Clean bathrooms = clean kitchen. I could go on. But start here first. then we'll talk more. I'm still giving this establishment 4 stars because I think there's potential here. Keep up the good work. read more

We stopped in here today for happy hour, I was surprised at the quality of the food and the cost of the cocktails. The fellow yelp review orders have not given this place many stars. Now granted it was 330 on a Wednesday afternoon but the service was outstanding the food came out quick it was hot and it was really good. We had walleye fingers, poutine, Fried pickles, and chicken wings. The food all came out together and it was terrific. The drinks were three dollars apiece which was an excellent value. If you're in downtown Lakeville and you're looking for a neat little happy hour place I would defiantly recommend stopping in here. Haven't been here in years. Live about 25-30 miles away. Browsing restaurant locations Babes popped up! Says if we join their club that we get a free appetizer. Saved the coupon to my phone. So happens this can not be used with a daily special. Even though kids eat free is not a coupon. It's a daily special. We would never have ordered the appetizer had we known. So I am a bit ticked off. Food has always been good. Just seems to me that it should say some where online under daily specials that a coupon can't be used!! Very nice waitress!!! Unfortunately I couldn't even stomach eating or drinking at this bar. Everything was damp and sticky. When they handed me the menu and I saw some brown sticky substance smeared around the edges I decided I had to leave. I was there on a rainy afternoon and I think the rain contributed to the stickiness and musty smell. Later on my partner let me know the men's bathroom door was ripped off and that's when I recognized the smell it was urine. the lack of door on the men's room was causing a wafting smell of urine into the dining area. It looked like a really cool bar, I was disappointed it didn't meet my expectations. read more
