Decided to give this place on Fathers Day and left unsatisfied. There is a large parking lot. There are also plenty of seating options (booth, table and chairs, patio, inside) patio is dog friendly :) The hostess was talking told other hostess when we first walked up and it felt like we were interrupting their chat time. We were brought out to the patio quickly but not friendly. Our waitress came over and was about the bare minimum. Wasn't really friendly. Just asked us what we wanted and wasn't even the one who brought it out. So the service here did not impress us. The ambiance inside looks cool. Very sports bar with a large bar to sit at. The patio has 2 sides. We were on the side closest to the parking lot. The umbrellas weren't really covering anyone. There was no real landscaping and earlier in the day(our waitress informed us) a sand bag broke. Instead of cleaning it up, they just left it. How embarrassing.... It just shows how much the management cares. It's Father's Day, everything should have top tier or at least cleaned up. The food here was above an Applebees but not by much. Northern Taphouse in Lakeville has a fun sporty atmosphere with lots of TVs and sports-inspired decor, making it feel like a good place to catch a game or hang out. There was music playing, but it was so loud that it was hard to even tell what songs were on or have a conversation comfortably at times. We started with the bacon cheddar chive tots, which had really good flavor, but some of them were cold in the middle which was disappointing. The turkey pretzel sandwich ended up being surprisingly really good and was probably the highlight of the meal for me. The quesadilla was also a huge portion and definitely felt more like a meal than an appetizer. Service was on the slower side during our visit. However, they made up for one issue by giving us a complimentary sundae when they ran out of the mini helmet dessert bowls, which was appreciated and a nice touch. I've seen some buzz on social media about Northern Taphouse, particularly about their oversized and eclectic Bloody Mary! I kinda just assumed it was another "elevated" sports bar....but I couldn't have been more wrong...it's THE elevated sports bar of the Cities! Plenty of parking at this spot, although it gets busy during peak times! The space itself was jam packed with families, couples, and sports teams taking in the Friday night excitement. Plenty of TVs, clean and modern decor, and a 40 beer tap wall bring this space to life. We took advantage of the online wait-list to ensure we could walk right in and get a table! Our server, while a bit TOO present, was incredibly friendly, bubbly, and excited to show us the ropes on our first visit! We started with two of their rotating taps, which we were told 36 of the 40 taps rotate! Lovely diversity and there's surely something for everyone. We started our meal with the Dill Cheese Curds: a light, cheesy bite dipped in a fresh, crisp ranch! The French Onion Soup was piping hot and decadent with the strong flavor akin to its traditional preparation. The Walleye Tacos were delightful...perfectly fried, served on warm tortillas, with just enough toppings to compliment the sizeable fish portion. Paired with a large serving of waffle fries and seasoned sour cream. Had the chance to check out Northern Taphouse. The food was pretty mid. I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the Nashville hot mac and cheese, but neither had any real heat. The mac and cheese was very dry. More cheese and hot sauce would definitely make it better. Service was okay. It felt like Black folks don't visit here often based on the way people stared when I walked in, but that's Lakeville for you. Our server seemed cool, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. I stopped here for lunch after having a Colonoscopy and not eating for 3 days. My son or driver was along. We ordered dill cheese curds, barbecue boneless wings, Cuban sandwich and Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich for me. I removed the bun and it just was meh for me. Breaded but Nashville Hot Sauce was nasty. I've come to the conclusion that only good Nashville Hot Chicken is in Nashville. I'll be there the end of July. It was busy, but the staff seemed like a well oiled machine and we never found ourselves rushed, nor ignored or forgotten. We sat on the family side and honestly, I wasn't expecting this place to be too family friendly and was pleasantly surprised! There were a bunch of families on our side, and the other side was catered more for adults which I loved. We ordered a gauntlet of food including the dill pickle cheese curds (to die for), chicken and waffles, and the jalapeno bacon cheddar infused burger, breakfast tacos and a kids meal. We were hot, hungry, and tired from being outside for a while, so we stopped off here for drinks and snacks to help us through the afternoon. The vibe is very sports and gastropub, and though there were a lot of TVs on, the noise level was low and good. Service was great throughout our brief time there. Had lunch here and was very satisfied. Unable to sample any adult beverages as it was a work lunch but the Arnie Palmer was exceptional. Great aromas are always a benefit of eating here. Our server was excellent and not overly doting. I had the mushroom Swiss burger with their homemade chips. Both were great! The other people with me had the BBQ sampler and the beef sandwich and they were reportedly wonderful as well. Nice beverage selections available. Nice patio area when things warm up outside. Today I met a friend here for lunch and it was so wonderful! This was my first time experiencing Northern Tap house and the staff was friendly and so good at communicating! We ordered bloody Mary's and I decided to pick the fiery bloody. It had a great kick and I didn't think it was too spicy. The waitress was great at letting us know that it will take a bit for the drinks and it was worth the wait. I ordered the spicy honey salmon bowl for my meal and it was soooooooooo good! I will definitely come back for this item! It had so many amazing flavors and wasn't a super heavy meal. I highly recommend trying this!!! They had a great crowd for lunch and it wasn't loud. I had Bourbon wings and my daughter had tacos. Beer battered fries tasty but could have been hotter. Service great and prices good. My Bloody Mary $22 and delicious made with flavored pickle flavored vodka, stacked high with skewers deep fried pickles, glazed chicken wings, sausage stick, pickle, green bean and cheese. They have larger ones with burger attached. Very good and almost a meal by itself! Disappointing. Stick to what they know. Burgers pizza and wings. My husband ordered the Cubano and it was terrible. The onion straws (who puts onion straws in a Cubano?) completely overwhelmed the sandwich. My burger was great. The French fries arrived on the cool side. I like mine hot. I did samples of about 5 beers both BlackStacks were incredible and all but the boozier double hazy IPA they had on were amazing. Great taplist all together.
