Not a good experience. We were out to have a nice and calm evening and they kind of ruined it for us at the end. I have had better Mediterranean food in Dallas (Ephesus Mediterranean grill for one is top notch) . The only advantage of this place is it's location. We liked the food. There is just one vegetarian option in entree. My drink, the labanese night, had an awful lot of fruit pulp. To top it all, I had a hummus and pita free offer on yelp. They refused to redeem my offer. THE DISH IS 6 DOLLARS. The lady came up to us and told us they we had to tell it before ordering. It was extremely cheap of them to do so and made me feel terrible about using up the offer. I always notify the server about the offer right before they bill us. It just felt terrible. I ended up marking the offer used. Take a tip from other good restaurants. It helps to be a little courteous. read more

Had a great experience last night at Baboush. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was delicious! The chicken was marinated and so flavorful. We initially ordered hummus and pita but had I realized I was going to have hummus and tons of pita with my main course I would have skipped the hummus as an appetizer. Drinks, appetizers and desserts came out fast but the entrées took a little longer. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but we had a show to go to so we had time constraints. I ordered from uber eats one night and when I called to ask if my order came through the lady who answered the phone very rudely informed me their kitchen was closed and my order would not be prepared even though we ordered it well before the time the kitchen closed. We ordered the Mezza Platter and Moroccan Chicken Wings, and both were fantastic! On the platter, the falafel was perfect, and the lebna sauce complemented it very well. Hummus and Babaganoush were excellent, and the sweet tomato dish was a very unexpected, but beautiful flavor. My wife liked the olives a lot, and the pita was really great. The chicken wings had an apricot glaze, were perfectly cooked, and came with the lebna sauce, which is like a combination of yogurt and cheese. All in all, a perfect meal for about $30! read more

I have lived very close to this restaurant for over a year and never tried it. I always wrote it off as a hookah bar and nothing more until friends kept raving about it. Turns out...they were right! The atmosphere and service were amazing. Great for a date night or to spend time with friends. The tables aren't too close so you can have a personal conversation. There is also a nice sized bar if you want to grab a drink, dine alone or you prefer bar dining. If you check in you get a free glass of wine! I love the words free and wine and when put together I'm ecstatic. Now for the important part, the food. We had the sampler appetizer. It is a wonderful selection of hummus, olives, babaganoush, sweet tomato spread and a generous serving of pita. I find restaurants typically short you on the pita bread but not here. It was a fantastic presentation and provided such diverse and wonderful flavors. For our entrees we had beef shawarma and fez chicken tangine. I have a rule to not order chicken at restaurants and I'm so glad I decided to break it based on our server's suggestion. Both were well balanced with appealing presentation while the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I absolutely loved this place and will definitely return. I was excited to be in the Dallas area, and thought I would try this restaurant. Beautiful place with mean staff.

I really like this place. I'm inclined to give it a 4-star based on its great location and ambiance. -pause- What the heck, I just did. My only problem was that my meal was somewhat meh. I've had slightly better hummus (sorry!!), and my kibbeh, though perfectly fried, was a bit bland. The accompanying salad was a bit salty. My companion had a great chicken street sandwich, however, and some of the other appetizers looked really tasty. Overall, I'm going back. During a recent business trip to Dallas, Texas, my colleagues and I found ourselves in need of a dinner option. Luckily for us, The Exchange (an upscale food hall) was literally across the street from our hotel. After reviewing all the restaurants, I (and two other colleagues) chose Baboush as our dining option. It was an absolutely fantastic decision. I ordered the chicken schwarma bowl which I was allowed to choose multiple differing ingredients to add to the bowl. I chose basmati rice, garbanzo beans, hummus, lettuce, roasted mushrooms, and topped it with garlic sauce. The meal, also, came with pressed pita bread and hummus. Everything tasted marvelous. I have several food allergies and a coworker chose a veggie bowl so Baboush can accommodate a variety of palates. They serve fast, fresh food with multiple healthy dining options for their patrons. So I was with my friend sitting at the sushi place next to Baboush and decide to hop over cause their table on the patio are nicer.. and I saw someone was smoking hookah I'm like hell yah haven't had that forever .. the last time I had hookah it was like €7 in Germany, so for a $30 just on hookah this sh*t better be amazing .. and it was like Meh .. FOOD: where do I even start? We ordered appetizers and entry, other than the falafel I have to say everything else was pretty disappointing .. they have their specially home made hummus, normally "homemade special" gets me excited, cause I know it's gotta be good, but this one is sooo liquid, not a normal hummus texture, and it has a cheese taste even tho they say they didn't put any cheese, I am sooo sensitive to cheese I have this cheese alert, overall not a fan.. when I come to entree, the presentation it was great, but no where on that menu says the chicken was sweet, I prefer my dessert sweet, I can't do entire entree sweet. Replying to their response: We came at 5 pm and left at 8 pm, that's definitely not "well over 5 hours." You could double check that I had a reservation for 5 pm (I came at 4:55 pm and my friend came around 5:30 pm) and I have the receipt from your place at 7:45 pm and from the pub nearby at 8:15 pm. We started off with drinks and appetizers (yes small plates are still food) and got the hookah towards the middle of being there. There was no one waiting for a table and there were multiple open tables inside and outside when we left at 8 pm. Also, you didn't mention anything about someone needing a table, all you harped on was hookah has a 90 min time limit. Curiously, the table next to us got there before we did and stayed after we had left. Again, we spend $177 at your restaurant. You could have treated us better but I'm not upset all. Just being honest. Automatically adding a 20% tip to the bill total and still adding a tip spot is just shady and not standard practice. Also your comment about the location being uptown and not 635 clearly shows there's some underlying issues here. Treat everyone with kindness, empathy and professionalism. Peace read more

Came here with a coworker and while we enjoyed the outdoor dining option and admiring what seems like every local walking their dog; the food was below par. The portions are small and the flavor lacking. The meza platter had small portions, but I guess for $15 can't expect much. One spread was a head scratcher: Moroccan Sweet Tomato? It was awful. I had the grilled Moroccan Kofta and it was a bit on the dry side and a small portion with one lonely skewer. Overall, limited menu and food that is unimpressive; will not be returning. Post review: Interesting response from the owner. I am not sure "area" justifies the price you charge, but one would assume that rent is pricey and volume would offset that $. In either case ketchup would be an improvement over your sweet tomato paste that does not work as a spread. I should also note that I was not the only one dining that day I was there with a coworker, who wasn't overly impressed with your food either. I'm sure others are, so best of luck. read more

Ordered takeout from here before and the food was pretty mediocre. This was the only place I could find with hookah so I went again mostly for the hookah. Had a much better experience in person. Hookah can only be done outside. They use a plastic pipe which was a little annoying because it kept coming out of the hookah as we passed it around but the hookah itself was smooth. They also have a happy hour deal for hookah -18 dollars from 4-7. You also get a free glass of select wine if you check in on Yelp! We got hummus and olives for appetizers and both were delicious. The chicken kebab was okay but I've definitely had better kebab elsewhere. Our service was fantastic.. Our waiter was able to split our hookah and drinks and food and gave us individual checks which was very helpful. Overall would definitely return for happy hour, hookah and appetizers but not if I was just craving Mediterranean food. read more

We have been coming to Baboush for over two years now. There is a reason for that. The food is always on point, and the service is even better. We always start with the hookah and hummus.
