THIS IS A SOLID 3.5 STAR RESTAURANT. Which means it's a good restaurant. I just can't round up to a 4, because I didn't think it was a GREAT restaurant for ME. I felt food was pricy and quantity lacking. Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant where you order family style. More of a 1 dish per person place. Which is different than how other Mediterranean restaurants tend to do it. Which is fine, just not my preference. Here's what we got: Appetizers: - meza plate: solid appetizer with plenty of things. I particularly loved the Hummus. My wife and our friends really liked the muhammara. - Roasted cauliflower: pretty good. Liked the sauce that it came with. Entrees: - Chicken Shish Kebab($25): the server recommended this dish as their top seller. I don't believe him. This chicken was dry and nothing to ring home about. It was honestly something that I felt I could have at a local Turkish restaurant for $14. Would not recommended. - Kofta Kebab($29): pretty good. We liked this. Kebab was cooked well. - Apricot lamb couscous($37): A traditional dish that we all enjoyed. Slight sweet taste to it, but not overwhelming at all. Dessert: - Baklava Bowl($18): delicious. The fruit and ice cream really complemented the baklava. Would recommend. There's street parking around the restaurant, otherwise, a 3 story parking garage in the back.

I came with a large group and we were all really impressed with the live music (oldies) amazing food and ambience. The chicken kabobs were juicy and the saffron rice was the most flavorful version I've ever tried. Truth is, I wasn't even hungry when I went, I planned to box it up for the next day but it was soooo good I ate it all immediately;) so much for the diet;) we all said that we would like to come back- so that's the review of 6 people.

Quaint, little Mediterranean spot & hookah lounge on the outside of west village! Their chicken kebab and shawarma are phenomenal. I also recommend the Mezza plate with all the apps and a bottle of wine to start! It's cozy and comfy in here and not typically too packed so you don't need a reservation. Great location and delicious food

Baboush is a charming and inviting spot tucked away in the West Village area. During the day, the atmosphere is warm and earthy, with friendly and welcoming service. As evening approaches, the vibe becomes more romantic and cozy. We had the Mezza plate, which offered a variety of flavorful bites--each one better than the last. The lamb with couscous was another standout: tender, well-seasoned, and not too gamey (just the way I like it).

Lunch specials

They have lovely decor, makes me feel like I'm traveling internationally. I usually come for the lunch special, for how fresh and tasty it is for $17 you just can't beat it. They serve hookah outside which is a nice add. Theres a nice manager that wears a suit and makes sure everything is smooth, awesome vibes and food. If you like Mediterranean it's a must try. The lamb on the lunch special is more like ground lamb not whole chunks. Wish they would add gyro meat to the lunch options.

Chef's Hummus from Baboush

Grabbed lunch here today. I cannot wait to go back for another meal. Not only was the service top notch, Mahmuod gave us A+ attention, the meal was great. The chef's Hummus was by far the best I have ever had. Crazy fresh ingredients and the portion was such a deal. We ordered the "beef cigars" and split an order of the beef shawarma dish. I highly recommend the beef shawarma. The beef was tender and perfectly medium rare. so flavorful. Drinks were never empty. Let's talk dessert. The baklava was simply amazing. We skipped the ice cream version and just went with the basic version. I will order an extra to take home the next time I visit. Thank you Baboush and Mahmuod for making this such an awesome experience. Highly recommend, will be back soon!

Mezza Plate and Couscous with roasted vegetables

The best Mediterranean restaurant I've tried since I arrived in the USA. We tried several dishes and everything was exquisite. The Mezza plate lets you taste classic Mediterranean antipasto-style dishes, all delicious. For my main dish, I ordered a vegetarian plate based on couscous with roasted vegetables, which also had an incredible flavor. I highly recommend it.

I couldn't have asked for better service from Muhammed. He was excellent. Food was also incredible. We had: Lamb hummus - perfection. I didn't realize how much I liked lamb, it was perfectly seasoned Harissa and apricot wings - I loved the flavor, they weren't spicy at all. More sweet. Chefs kiss. Chicken kabobs - great flavors, chicken was very tender The ambiance is also really great. I loved the music and decor. Felt like I was transported somewhere in the Mediterranean region!

Baboush offers authentic Mediterranean food in the heart of uptown Dallas. Parking can be limited but they have some street parking and there is a parking garage nearby as well. The food was delicious they offer a full menu from appetizers, small plates, and main entrees. Some of the highlights were the hummus, flafael, and the lamb racks. They have some outdoor seating which we opted to do but they have a beautiful dining room area for you to enjoy as well. This is a great spot to get some delicious Mediterranean restaurant. I will be back again.

Baboush has been on my want to try list for quite a while and I was glad to finally try it. Inside, the atmosphere is small and cozy with live music when we went. We started off with drinks and the chef's hummus. The hummus was fantastic and I would recommend it. For drinks, we got the blackberry seduction and lebanese nights. I felt that the blackberry seduction was pretty good but the other one tasted pretty much like juice rather than well mixed cocktail. We then got the lamb rack and kofta kebabs. Both were well made and flavorful but I felt that there was not enough food/it wasn't good enough for the price you pay. I did throughly enjoy the rice that came with the kebabs. Overall, Baboush was a fun place that I am glad I tried but I didn't feel that the value was good enough for me to want to come back.

One of the top five meals of my life. So delicious, wish I could have eaten more but glad I got to take home leftovers. Very nice staff as well. Cool music and vibes.

It's hard to get lamb right, but this lamb was great! Service was attentive and kind and the ambiance is very cute; they offer hookah that I did not get to partake in. Inside is set up beautifully and you can tell a lot of effort was put into the detail. I have been to Morocco. This felt and tasted like the restaurants back in Marrakech. The only reason I did not give it a 5/5 was because some dishes will come garnished with nuts that don't usually have nuts, which made it so that I couldn't have it. I probably should have mentioned my allergy, but putting that menu items have nuts - even if it means it will just be garnished on top, goes a long way. I was able to remove the pine nuts on the lamb which made me happy, meaning they can accommodate food allergies. The menu isn't very extensive, as they become more popular I hope they can add to it. The food is prepared very well. Can't wait to come back and try the preserved lemon chicken.

Great atmosphere, authentic food, fun staff. However they need to learn how to make a Manhattan and Old Fashion the USA way.

I've been to Darna a few times, surprisingly never left them a review…read more Couple years back they had this little counter selling desserts and we could take it to go. Loved loved the cannoli but maybe 3 years ago they stopped selling them. So sad We ordered chicken kebab with rice. It was bomb. 5/5 in fact, it's the most affordable entree on the menu at $24 or $24. The table below to us, all 3 ppl they each ordered this same dish. Chicken was very tasty and tender Burger meh 2/5 - not recommended The sauce they used on it, not so good and they didn't ask if I'd like well done. Medium. Should have known never to order a burger at a Mediterranean place. Chicken piccata 4/5 I suspected the sauce would be sour and I never like sour sauce on a piece of cooked meat. But the waiter said it's not sour and it was really good. Well, suffice to say the chicken kebab was way better. Maybe it's preference. If you like sour sauce.. you could get this item Server 5/5 Real nice server. Would come back

Tried Darna Mediterranean Eatery at Legacy recently…read more Started with two mocktails. The natural syrup flavors were good, but both drinks were overly sweet. Would've been much better balanced with more soda/seltzer water. The hummus brisket pastrami appetizer was solid. Really liked the caramelized onions with the hummus and pastrami. The bread was fluffy and really good, just wish they gave more than two pieces. Meat could've been hotter though. My wife got the seafood paella. Decent overall with large shrimp and mussels. She enjoyed it. The lamb shank was the huge miss for me, especially at around $40. It looked substantial at first, but the actual edible meat portion was pretty small. Most of it was dry, tough, and under-rendered around the connective tissue. For a Mediterranean restaurant, a slow-braised lamb dish should be a slam dunk, especially after it was recommended by our waitress. Service was average overall. We ordered additional drinks, but our water never got refilled during the meal. I'd probably come back if I was already in the area, but I'd stick to kebabs or other grilled items next time.

We were seated and taken care of by our server, who was so sweet and very patient. We ordered drinks. I had to get tea because I was chilly. Outdoor seating at night isn't the greatest because it was very dark, so we stayed inside. The food was exceptional. The herbs they use are picked from their local garden, and the food is incredibly fresh. I ordered the marinated lamb kebabs and Hummus. By the way, their hot tea is fantastic. I highly recommend it but the food was also delicious. The only thing is that the Hummus was very salty but still delicious. The dessert is the best part of the meal. They do change their menu frequently. We hot a chocolate cremeux mousse with chocolate cake - it was soooo good! 10 out of 10! Everything was fantastic and I'll be back!

We came for Sunday lunch and didn't know there there was only a brunch menu available. Thankfully all the food was pretty good! The lamb shakshuka was flavorful and kofta was moist. Eggs Benedict, hummus, bread with butter and jam, and pancakes were all solid as well! Presentation was beautiful. My only disappointment was with the pita bread - I found the bread flat and and a little dry. Service was efficient and nice. It did feel more like a business meeting or brunch type of place - not so much a family place. Thankfully it was pretty empty when we went so our baby didn't have anyone to disturb. Would definitely recommend coming to try!

The koobideh itself was good, definitely tasty, but more in the "solid" range rather than something that really stands out compared to other spots I've tried. I also had the mast o khiar. Super fresh, really flavorful, and a big portion. I like to eat it with the bread and alongside the koobideh, which might not be traditional but I love it. I also tried the tahdig gheymeh that my friend ordered. First time having it and I'm glad I did. The rice had a nice crunch and the stew was flavorful. Not sure I'd order it normally, but worth trying. The restaurant was pretty quiet during lunch, just one other table, so service was quick and smooth. I left full and satisfied.
