I haven't been here in years but when my cousin was in from out of town looking for a nearby Tex Mex place and one of her daughter's soccer teammate parents mentioned they ate there, I figured we'd give it a try. The food was ok. My soup was lacking in a bit of flavor. My cousin did like her vegetarian enchiladas and the purple margarita. My niece said the fries didn't have any salt and didn't seem to like her cheese quesadillas. The service was great and timely! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside decor was a little dated and didn't give the cleanest of vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For example, the stand up menu on the table was dirty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place did start to get full as we were leaving so I may come back again and try some other items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Purp margs were good but Rubi made a fake complaint about my dog sitting in a seat claiming a customer complained. There were zero customers there. Rubi is full of doobies if you ask me

    Best Flauta Soup in Austin!

Best TexMex in Austin since the early 80's, with great food and ritas! Check out their great Flauta Soup, with 3 Shredded Chicken flautas on the side and their Famous Baby's Soup base with tomato, cabbage, avocado, and cheese. Dip the flautas in the soup or immerse, whichever you prefer. If you like UT Football, this is a great place to watch as they've got 8 TV's in 3 dining spaces (main, entry, and huge bar area)...watch the game while you and family enjoy food and drinks !

    Chips and salsa

The tacos are so good. The pork carnitas tender and juicy. Service is fast and friendly. The waitress answered my questions and suggested a dish that turned out to be my new favorite. The street corn is very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the atmosphere. Not too fancy but definitely not a dive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is what I they gave me as a $9.99 nachos! Besides that one of the people that came and spoke to us was coughing. Stay away from this place

In two ways, I agree with some of the negative reviews- I can't say much for the service or price. It wasn't HORRIBLE, but I would describe it as barely adequate. However, this is still getting four stars because of the food and drink! Man, we enjoyed this a lot. We got the dip and fajitas and enjoyed it thoroughly. One thing I really appreciated is how good the individual elements were. The meat was treated well, the beans and rice were good, and the cheese dip was awesome. Even the pico was delicious- chewing individual tomato chunks in a fajita gave so much flavor! Food was plentiful and we ate to our heart's content. The drinks are delicious- beware, though, they're creepers! There's a high alcohol content. I wouldn't recommend this as a pre-drinking stop. For us, lunch and a couple margaritas followed by a nap was perfect. We will be back!

We took our teenage son for dinner to Baby Acapulco on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm. We used to frequent this location prior to covid so it had been a while. There was plenty of seating and very spacious. The main seating area was very clean and looked welcoming with the bright yellow seating. I ordered a sangria swirl margarita & it was delicious! They do have a happy hour special till 6pm so $2 off frozen margaritas. They do not have a variety of tap beer just the basics. Hopefully they can get a IPA in there soon:) Our waiter was Jorge and he was very sweet & attentive to our table. We had the happy hour queso for $5 and it was a good size serving for the 3 of us.There wasn't an actual happy hour menu we were told by Jorge the specials. We couldn't even find it online just the drinks. All of our man dishes were on point, from the presentation to the flavor! I highly recommend the tortilla soup combo. I'm glad we decided to give this location another try, it really has improved.

    Shrimp enchiladas

The service makes this place worth 5 stars. They really do care for their customers. However the food isn't that great. Orientation of the food was pretty solid. Drinks are always good and the bar area is a good time.

Once you're inside, though, the whole operation runs with impressive efficiency. You order at the register, take your receipt, and hand it off to one of the taco guys behind the counter. As the sign says, "No Ticket, No Taco!" so don't lose it. Seating is limited and the line can get long, but they move fast. And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. The onions and cilantro greatly balance each bite, while the salsa and guacamole are necessary and fundamental to tying the flavors together.. Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
