I've passed this place up several times. In my mind, I chalked it up to be nothing more than a drive through chain BBQ joint. I finally decided to try it one night when it was late and the family didn't feel like going to a sit down restaurant. All I can say is wow! I did not expect the food to be this good. I have lived in Memphis for 5 years. This place is my favorite BBQ place for two reasons. The spicy BBQ sauce is one you cannot find anywhere else on planet Earth. 2 they actually smoke their meat unlike some other places (Jerry Lawler or one and only). I went by today to try them out for lunch. I got a BBQ Sandwich combo. The meat was really tender and juicy and had just the right amount of smoke. I loved the wide variety of sauces I could pick from and decided to go with the Medium sauce. I also liked that I had the option of mayo or vinegar based slaw for my sandwich. The baked beans were sweet but smokey and really good. I would have to rank them high on my list of favorite restaurant bakes beans. I plan on making a return trip to check out their ribs. read more

My wife and I had lunch at Baby Jacks BBQ and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the large pulled pork meal with beans and baked potato salad as my sides, and my wife had the brisket with fried okra and regular potato salad as her sides. I've read that the portion sizes are not that large, but I'd say they are about the size we really should be eating (they are 4 oz each). The meat comes wrapped in aluminum foil and both of them were tender, flavorful, and more than enough for an adult human - actually we had enough food to take some home for another meal! I really liked the roll - it was warm and had butter on top, but my wife wasn't impressed. The iced tea was good, I had the unsweetened and my wife had a mixture of the sweetened/unsweetened, but not outstanding. Lastly, we both liked the baked potato salad that we got a huge order of it for a party we were going to as our contribution to the party.....overall I'd say that if we were in Bartlett again we'd definitely stop in at Baby Jack's for more BBQ. read more

It was my first visit here and the service was quick and the food good. I can't say they have the best pulled pork in Memphis but it's decent. They don't put the sauce on the meat so I think that's the disconnect. I like a good should covered in sauce so it can marinate. read more

Can't give them enough stars!!! We were in a hotel no car and used Uber eats. They forgot the main part of our order the pulled pork. I called the restaurant to let them know and they refunded our order and sent someone to deliver the pulled pork and a banana pudding to apologize. 5 minutes no exaggeration, our food was here! We ate there a few weeks ago. The staff is mainly college/high school students, which is ok, but can be a bit testing. The pulled pork is really good, moist and grown /raised locally ( I asked) -- the potato salad was very good, and they offer two different kinds of coleslaw which is very good. They offer several different bbq sauces, from mild to very spicy. Banana pudding was ok, nothing to write home about.The middle range ones are very good. Pricing is very reasonable. Side portions could be a big bigger, but I would overall recommend this place. Run by local folks as well. We like it better than Rendez-Vous - so go ahead and try it!!! My favorite BBQ in Bartlett. The staff is so sweet and remembers the customers that frequent the place. We always get the family pack. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I highly recommend the dry ribs, fried okra, baked potato salad, and banana pudding. When you walk up to the building the smell is amazing. And really the food is exceptional, but the wait was ridiculous - in restaurant we waited 30 minutes to get two sandwiches with fries. Made me sad. I have always liked to eat here. read more

Just had the WORST experience!! We ordered.... We sat there and watch everyone who ordered after us get there food. This older man (manager??) just kept walking around and telling us sorry for the wait. 45 minutes go by and we say something to the manager and he throws up his arms and walks away.... Other people get food ... We say something again... They say its coming an hour goes by and we say something to the one person that is dressed up (owner?!?) and he says we will definetly get our food next.. Then he continues to bring out other peoples food!!! So I tell the cashier I want my money back or my order NOW!!! He walks off then the older man comes up and asks what he could do for us... We told him we just want our money back.. He had the nerve to ask us what we got!! After we asked if they could just pull up our order to refund it he just shrugged his shoulders and said the order was lost!!!! Then he giggled..and tried to give us $60!! Our order was $30-something I asked if they could just pull it up he said no handed us $40 and said he could make it up later. Seriously?!? We have been there well over an hour with four kids and that entertains you?? After the first time admit you lost it and take care of it!!! Even the other customers were upset for us.. Terrible will never go there again. My suggestion learn how business works and fire that older man. I don't see this business lasting very long. read more

We decided to try Baby Jack's today. We loaded up the kids and went to grab some BBQ to go. The first thing I missed was the smell of BBQ, the one that makes your mouth water when you walk through the door. I ordered the BBQ nachos with a drink, my daughter a half of slab of ribs and both my husband and son did not even feel like ordering. I have to say the one positive thing was the tea I had while I waited it was really good and had to go back for seconds. When we got home with our food, not even two miles from their location we, ran into one problem after another. The pork was very dry and overcooked and the nacho's stale. Not even worth eating. The ribs were where the real disappointment was. The meat was tough almost jerky like, overcooked and so very dry. You know they are bad when your eleven year old refuses to eat what might possibly be her favorite food. I do have to admit their sauce was good but what is a good sauce without the meat. Ordered a full rack with two set-ups. For anyone in the Q biz in Memphis a set up is beans, slaw, bread for one. Baby Jack'a staff are teenagers who apparently don't know the business. Paid $21 for the rack, paid another $4+ for drinks...ribs came after we sat a while in the rather plain dining room (old Starbucks) fighting with flies. Food came no set ups (sides) just a rack torn in half. They did not know what I meant by set ups. Frustrated, I vowed never to return. I've wanted to try this place for a long time now and finally picked up a family pack last night. I gotta say that I really, REALLY enjoyed the barbeque! So much so that I had a barbeque sandwich this morning for breakfast! I didn't know what to expect, so I tried the medium sauce and it was a wonderful sweet heat. I think there were sauces labeled as sweet, honey, medium, Cajun, and hot hot. I love the idea of being able to change up the barbeque from time to time. You can even decide turkey or beef if you prefer, but that pork was smoked to perfection! Even without sauce, the flavor was fantastic! You can order a mayo or vinegar slaw, so I tried the mayo and it was great! The beans may not have been my favorite, but I'm super sensitive to onion flavor and I can report that may family seemed to enjoy them.
