We started with the Codfish Fritters and we all loved the Garlic Ancho Steak Picanha Beef (comes with rice, beans, potato mayonnaise, vinaigrette, and cassava). For drinks, we had a passion fruit juice and a Lagunitas. Can either walk through the market first to get to the restaurant or use the side door. Such a hidden gem, can't wait to come back

The restaurant was remodeled and use to be Bacalhau Grill. It looks beautiful and the market with all the traditional food and ingredients and wine is located on the other side of the wall. The staff are kind and helpful. We decided to come with our family to dinner. The steak platter, steak sandwich and the chicken fingers with the French fries and chicken Parmesan and Bacalhau Gomes Sa were very good. Unfortunately the other dishes needed some help. The pork sandwich was soggy and the marinade was not tasty and pieces of pork were disappointing. It was not the traditional Acorian food. The other steak platter my family found to be chewy. And none of the salads came with dressing and they didn't give us any options. When we asked for Ranch we got Cesar dressing 2 times. Some water glass we were provide were dirty 2 times. We had a reservation but they seemed very unprepared for us and there were only 2 other tables seated. It was unfortunate.

As a Brazilian, I was looking forward to my meal but I found the meat to be very tough which is not typical of the picanha. The side dishes were tasty. For dessert, I tried the Romeo and Juliet which was well balanced and not very rich. The staff was friendly and there are a lot of options for dishes and sandwiches and other Brazilian street foods which make this a great stop. Next door there is a mini grocery store that sells a lot of Brazilian and Portuguese products. I left at the time when a musician was setting up but it's nice that they are beginning to provide entertainment as well. Lastly, there are several TVs in the restaurant inside and it's very dark. I think customers would be happier with less TVs and more natural lighting. The outside area is pretty but it wasn't set up for sitting. I would love to see the quality of the meat improve so this can become one of my favorite spots.

Great food, great Vibe, great ambiance, great service! Definitely recommend this place!

I knew this place as Bacalhau Grill a while back. It seems they serve the same brazilian and portuguese dishes under this new name. The menu indicates that most items take 15-20 minutes. But my takeout order was ready in no more than 10 minutes, on a slow Monday of course. I ordered the codfish with cream, a truly addicting dish. The taste has not changed, super creamy and buttery, and strangely more affordable than before. It even came with a small side salad. There are a couple things that have changed though. The menus are in English, which makes it so much easier to order. Also, the restaurant is open later, so I can actually grab dinner at dinnertime now (Bacalhau Grill used to close at 4pm). Woohoo! This 5-star review is mainly for the delicious codfish with cream (aka bacalhau de natas) and stress-free takeout experience.

Absolutely terrible. The food little was served was either cold or greasy. Service was equally disappointing--slow and rude. I've had better meals from gas stations. Save your money and go anywhere else.

We went shopping for some sweet bread at the supermarket. So we decided to have lunch at Silvas. Normally I would ordered a steak, but today is Friday. So we ordered Coffee fish fritters to start. We ordered Gomes de SA for lunch. The fritters came out quickly, but were served warm. they were tasty.more potato and a little bits of finely shredded cod. It would have been better if it was served hot. the lunch was ok. A small portion of actual bacalhau ,a big scoop rice and a small salad. It was a little dry for my taste. lm used to it swimming in olive oil. But maybe this is a Brazilian version. For a small restaurant it was crowded. I think most come here for the steak. Which smelled great as it passed by. I'll probably come back on a weekend to try the meat

Desserts were amazing, I had the Portuguese beef and my partner had the grilled onion chicken. Would recommend coming here

My family wanted to have dinner somewhere new and I came across this amazing place. Camila, Ronald and Farias helped us and was very patient with us. It was our first time at a steakhouse like this. They were patient and checked on us often. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Thanks to Camila and Ronald we will be back. Thank you for treating us with so much love. 10/10 food it was excellent.

The manager is always welcoming and accommodating, which makes every visit even more enjoyable. My only small suggestion is to bring back the diced mango pickles. The servers for the table came quickly taking our drink orders and we were off to the salad bar. The salad bar has lots of options from salads, vegetables, soups, and appetizers. I have been here multiple times and there were times in which the replenishment of a salad bar item took way too long I gave up and closed my check and left. This was after I even asked a few times. My favorite is the mango salad and the candied bacon. The mango is spot on. The candied bacon is good but could be better if it was all crispy. There is the card green red signalling to the servers with the food whether to stop at the table or not. When our card was green all the servers walked by frequently and quickly. When there was a time in which our card was red for awhile, a server would stop over and asked us if there was any menu item we would like to request specifically. When we mentioned the person would speak into their mic and soon a server would come with our request. The other Brazilian Steakhouse at Santana Row could learn about service from Galpao. The chicken options were dry. Most the beef items were cooked well. The lamb was cooked medium well which was over in my opinion. The pork rib is good, just beware fatty. The grilled pineapple was good too. Tried the garlic bread which is more a garlic cheese bread. It was tasty. The basic items for the table are the plantains, mashed potatoes, cheese popovers. The mashed potatoes were well made very smooth with lots of flavor. The popovers are a little thick so can be a little tough to chew. This place is not for everyday and not at the high price point. Definitely return for a special occasion.

Asking questions about allergens is not a matter of preference--it's a matter of safety. During these calls, I experienced repeated hang-ups while simply trying to get information about whether the restaurant could accommodate my allergies. Eventually, I was assured that my meal could be prepared without the ingredients I am allergic to, so I felt comfortable enough to place and pay for an order. Unfortunately, that was where the problems only got worse. After placing the order, I waited more than an hour and a half. During that time, I repeatedly attempted to contact the restaurant for updates and clarification. Instead of receiving assistance, my calls were repeatedly ignored or disconnected. It felt as though the restaurant was actively refusing to communicate after taking my payment. The most upsetting part of the experience was that after assuring me they could accommodate my allergies and accepting my money, I never received the level of communication or service that any customer should reasonably expect. When someone has food allergies, clear communication is essential. Being unable to get answers about an order involving allergens is stressful and unacceptable. What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into an exhausting experience filled with confusion, unanswered questions, and a complete lack of customer service. I spent considerable time trying to reach someone, waiting for an order, and attempting to resolve the situation, only to be met with silence and disconnected calls. I understand that restaurants get busy and mistakes can happen. However, repeatedly hanging up on a customer, failing to communicate after taking payment, and leaving someone waiting for over an hour and a half without meaningful updates is not acceptable. Customers deserve honesty, respect, and basic communication--especially when food allergies are involved. This was one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I have had, and unfortunately I cannot recommend Bacalhau Grill based on the way this situation was handled.

We tried both during two separate visits, and the food was so delicious we couldn't resist coming back the very next weekend. My only complaint is that there was a bit too much egg filling, compared to the crust, so the ratio was a bit off. I would come back for these! I was SOOOO sad and disappointed just by the appearance of them when arriving, they were all burnt! You can't tell me they are supposed to look like this because nowhere on their website or instagram to they advertise them with black tops. I purchase Pastel de Nata quite frequently from my local bakery in San Leandro and since we were finally in San Jose, I was SO excited at the opportunity to try new ones from this "popular bakery" and I'm confused on how these sell? I ordered 13 pastel de Nata (6 traditional & the remaining a mix of all the flavors they offer) I'd hope when packing my boxes they'd attempt to throw some in there that weren't burnt from the top but the pictures speak for themselves. The burnt top ruins the taste of the pastry itself. The filling to crust ratio isn't it. Needs more custard or a slightly thinner crust. Attaching photos for reference. We also arrived at 11am (1.5 hours after they opened) and there was literally only 1 malasada left, I'm so happy it happened to be dulce de leche which I wanted and purchased it. My husband, son, and I LOVED it! That's the reason for the 1 star (although I can't give less) I'd recommend they make more Malasadas and less Pastel de Nata to keep up with the demand, a couple families walked in after me and walked right out when they realized there weren't any in stock and they genuinely taste better then the Pastel de Nata, you can tell that's where the high ratings come from and why they are popular. Overall - would recommend 1000% skipping the pastel de Nata unfortunately it does not taste anything like the ones I've had before. Not a true reflection of what it should taste/look like. We made the drive super excited to finally come and try and ignore the reviews saying it wasn't the best just to confirm they were correct.

The Good: * Large shared parking lot * Friendly service * Covered outdoor dining * The crust of the empanadas was buttery, flaky, and delicious. All the fillings were good, but you have to try the Hawaiian filling! I would have asked questions but inside the store was strangely loud and the woman who helped me was a low talker so I couldn't understand anything she was saying to me as it was. The empanadas are pretty large, as are the prices. $17 for the two. At this price point I was glad I decided not to buy more. Each comes with a tiny side of aji green sauce. They could have been more generous here. I found the spinach to be very salty and more breading than filling. The chicken one was a letdown. Chicken was lacking any flavor. For both the pastry was dry. Was only able to eat half of each and threw the rest away. Not really the kind of place you dine in for. You order at the counter and there is limited seating inside (in a way that makes you not want to dine in), and a few seats outside. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. This visit and subsequent review makes me feel sad. I want to support these unique, independent eateries but they make it difficult when the quality doesn't meet the high cost. Improvements would be to reevaluate their recipes, make the pastries less dry and dense, and maybe don't be so skimpy on the fillings.
